This is my second interaction with this office first time upon my arrival on time to be told that the Doctor and became ill witch ok understood rescheduled for today at 11:45 called to inform them to an accident only asked for 10 minutes was told by the receptionist that the Doctor said no I would have to rescheduled. Customer service needs to improve . I had an appointment to get an exam. The manager (Francesca) could not find in in net work . I let her know when I spoke to the people at the other office on 76th St. they checked and they said I was in network at this location, that's on 3500 south 27 st. She was very snotty and rude. Told me I wasn't. I told her OK. Let me call the back of my insurance to make sure she proceeded to tell me I had two minutes or I couldn't see the eye doctor I called. I talk to the representative on the insurance , I was in netWork ,when I proceeded to tell Francesca that I am in network she said well it's too late. We have to rebook. You can't be seen today. I am very disappointed because I made disappointment a while ago so that I wouldn't have to worry or have any issues and I can get my eye exam . It's the end of the year so I wanted to use the last of my insurance to get my exam. I think they need to treat their customers better and not be so snotty and rude and when people have appointments they should be able to see the eye doctor , specially when I proved that I was in network. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience today. My appointment was scheduled for 3:40pm, and I made sure to be here on time. I even completed the required paperwork online ahead of time and updated my insurance when I arrived. Despite all this, I've now been sitting in the waiting room for over an hour with no updates. I had to take time off work for this appointment, and if I had known I'd be waiting this long, I would have stayed at work. At this point, it's taking everything in me not to walk out, but since I already left work, I need to at least make this visit worth it. After today, I do not plan on returning and will not be purchasing glasses or contacts here. read more

This is the worst place to go. I would give it ZERO stars if I could. They took my review off on Google reviews! I reposted it and on here as well. This is the most unprofessional place I ever experienced in my life. The people are the least organized and unfriendliest people in contacting you in regards to your scheduled appointments and confirming if they accept your insurance before you go in. They claimed to have left a voicemail that they did not accept our insurance. We went back to listen to the voicemail and all they said was to CONFIRM your appointment nothing else. My son lives outside of Milwaukee and we had to schedule this around his school schedule and this has caused another delay in getting his annual eye exam in before year ends. This particular VisionWorks has the absolute worst staff I've ever had to deal with. They are rude and were not able to answers my questions about anything. The $800 pair of glasses I bought were supposed to be scratch resistant and anti-glare. Both were not added to my new glasses. thee most awful experience doing business here. This company is wretched. Here's why: They take my insurance. I get frames once every two years on my insurance. I had ones in 2019 and broke them later that year luckily for me I got those weird frames I would have never picked for myself but these were special frames with a screaming deal... if ever broken they would be replaced for free! Yay! Needless to say it wasn't free! False advertisement! I got charged against my insurance for them when they did break and they didn't tell me because when I came in 5/2021 to come get new glasses they said I wasn't eligible till 2022. Awesome! thanks guys. "Sorry no frame coverage But you do have lenses and an exam you can use" Ok cool. Whatever. NBD. I get my exam and decide to come back when I can afford frames in a week or two. I come back to weeks later and mysteriously now I don't have any lenses now available until 2022. These people are god**** inconvenient mess. So after I have to three way call my insurance after being told to "take it up with my insurance" it turns out these lazy people don't even know what they are doing on the computer and how to check for coverage and have never heard of callling the provider line. What a mess. So supposedly (after months of Visionworks lackey nonsense starting back in February at the Appleton location and now at 27th & Morgan location) they say my glasses are ready... so I wonder if what fresh he'll await next week when I go to pick them up. Avoid this place at all costs. Oddly enough, I had a dream the other night where I saved the whole city of Milwuakee from Visionworks and their continuous incompetence & awful customer experience by driving my car through the window of their storefront not because I was mad but because I I didn't have any glasses and couldn't see where I was driving. If a zero was an option I would go for that but since it is not we will go for one star. One of the most horrible experiences I have ever had in regards to a doctor office. First off let's start by saying that I was rescheduled several times due to no staff which caused me a couple of days of work that I had to get off in order to get my eye glass prescription. Now let's move to the day of my appointment I walked in everything was fine the girls at the front were very kind and then I went to sit in the waiting area where I waited for over 40 minutes past my appointment time with no one telling me how much longer it will take. Finally after over 45 minutes of waiting past my appointment time the technician came and got me at no point in time did she greet me correctly she did was take me to the room sit me in the chair and proceed to turn on a TV telling me that a virtual assistant will be giving me my prescription and I reiterated that to her and asked if a doctor was going to do my exam and she told me no. I LOST IT. NEVER AGAIN. Not only has my time been wasted for several months but I specifically requested a doctor for my exam and was still given a virtual assistant that I did not want nor did I ask for nor was I made aware of that was all they had. read more

I went here today for the first time. I had gone to another optometrist for the last several years, but new insurance this year placed them out of network. I admit I was a little skeptical using a chain optometry location, but I was pleasantly surprised. The young man who did the initial tests was very friendly. Due to COVID you see the doctor remotely, but it wasn't an issue at all. I was concerned at first because they had my contact lens prescription set at a lower number than my previous provider, and I wasn't seeing as clearly when I came in so I thought it had gotten worse. Upon trying contacts with their lower prescription, I saw clearer than I currently was. It became apparent my old place had over corrected me. Overall I was impressed by how clean and professional this place was. I would recommend them. read more

This location has horrible customer service, particularly for those with Medicaid or Medicare for coverage. My friend was told that he would need to wait three weeks to be seen, and I was told they couldn't help me because they weren't familiar with Aetna. Seriously. I will never go there with or without insurance, nor would I recommend this location. read more

Worse experience at a eye glass company. They treat you like a nobody. They never call you to let you know when your glasses are in, smh. The 1st time my glasses came in I went there to pick them up & Brianna broke them right in front of me by trying to tighten them for sizing. So I had to wait for my glasses to come in again. Brianna stated she'd call me & again she didn't. 1st time she stated cause she was to busy with other clients & 2nd time she stated she drop the ball by not calling me. I guess cause I paid for my glasses up front I'm not important enough client that she would give me the courtesy to call. So if you want to feel dismissed in life go to Visionworks. Wish I had read Yelp reviews before making an appointment here at Visionsucks. All they had to do to resolve a miscommunication on when my contacts would arrive was provide me with a 5 day trial contact box, but they refused. Mostly surprised and upset with the managers attitude. The associate I spoke with prior to the manager had much better customer service and was apologetic. A manager should attempt to find solutions for unhappy customers and this one was quite simple! Will not be returning here and my family will go elsewhere. read more

Honestly I didn't read these reviews till I was waiting in the office for my appointment. First off everyone was super nice and responsive, the doctor was fantastic. The Woman who helped me with my glasses was super nice and explained everything. I ordered my glasses and should have them in 1 to 2 weeks. They were easy to make an appointment, they sent a reminder email and a text to confirm my appointment. All in all it was a great and easy experience. read more

I only come here because it's close to home and it's one of the few places me insurance accepts. During Covid I had to wear a mask for my exam and I thought the results were skewed because of.. whatever. I just went last month, made an appointment only to find out once I got there that it was a "virtual" dr exam. If that's the case, fine, but let people know. So it was just some worker that doesn't know what they're doing giving me all the eye puff, etc tests in the beginning. Then a doctor showing up on a tv telling her how to move the machine for my actual exam... awful experience. Hands down. I won't get into detail because I'm not gonna put the blame on her, but the company. I needed my results to be faxed to my doctor because I have diabetes, they never did. Even though I asked three times to make sure. Never. I picked out my glasses, yada yada. I picked them up two weeks later.. their hours are until 7.. I took off work early to pick them up it was 6:15, the doors were locked everyone was literally gearing up to go, I seemed like a f*ing bother that I even came in to pick up. The same girl that "fitted me" for me glasses handed them to me and said if you need anything come back. Whatever. She never suggested to me at the time that these certain frames with my prescription SHOULD OR needed to be thinned.. I cannot use them. They are so weighted down by my prescription, that how am I supposed to know this?, that when I look through them in any direction but absolutely straight.. everything is concave. Great experience. Most complete eye exam I've had- doctor went so far as to double check my right eye since my previous prescription differed slightly from hers. Also ensured my contacts properly matched the shape of my eyeball since the contacts I was prescribed by another doctor were too large for me. Definitely going back. read more

Dr Poj-Laim Xiong was my optometrist. She was the most thorough I've ever had. She took the time to exam my eyes and gave feed back as she done the exam. The other staff was also very friendly and went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied. I definitely recommend this location, and Visionworks. read more

The good : resident doctor is nice and courteous, She is patient and accomodating and doesnt cut any corners or rush you. The receptionist is sweet and polite. The bad: The sales staff is horrific, It felt like I was in a car dealership like the sort which deals with the credit challenged people. Ghastly customer service and they are absolutely clueless how and how much an insurance will pay. They had a sign saying $19.99 for eye exam and when they handed me a bill it magically said $58.00, even Sigfried and Roy will be confused as in how the exam fees tripled but not Visionworks! Update: When I showed up for my appointment, the employee told me that they had double booked and I couldn't be seen, but they would reschedule for Saturday. Today, I found a voicemail that they left me. It said, sorry but we can't honor your appointment due to Covid-19. So they counted on me not showing up and blamed Covid-19 for my canceled appointment. So, of course, now I know that was a lie. Now, how can I trust this company who lies to their customers. Very disappointed in Visionworks. read more

If I could give zero stars that would be my rating for this place right now. Sent my husband in to get annual exam and new glasses as his current ones are on their proverbial "last legs". I carry our vision insurance and provided them with the insurance details prior to appt to be confirmed. As he is at the appt, I get a text from my husband that he isn't eligible for new frames till next year. I checked with insurance and sure enough- he was not eligible for frames until Jan 1, 2018. No problem- we'll wait a few weeks. These scammers proceeded to tell my husband that he wasn't eligible under the insurance until DECEMBER 2018! The best part is that they were ready to take us for $341 and have him purchase the glasses without insurance out of pocket today! This was AFTER my husband told them that I had verified with Cigna that he would be covered for new frames as of the first of the year. The "sales" people told him that "no, you aren't eligible until December next year..." One thing I can't stand are manipulative conniving people and practices. The optometrist was the most thorough I've ever had. I've been struggling for years with dry eyes and only he took the time to find the problem. Other doctors were dismississive or just wanted to medicate. The other staff was also very friendly and went out of their way to make sure I got the most benefit out of my insurance. I scheduled an appointment and I specifically asked if I was going to be given the prescription info so I could order glasses online. They said yes but after the appointment, I was not given the pupillary distance measurement which I needed. I was told that you had to buy glasses from them to measure that. But if I knew that I wouldn't have gone to them. read more

My husband and I were extremely satisfied with the level of customer service and professionalism of the ophthalmologist, receptionist and technicians that helped us pick out our glasses. They had a great selection of glasses, the glasses were ordered and were available in a timely manner, we like the way they fit and look and, best of all, it didn't cost us an arm and a leg like we've paid in the past at some of the boutique eyewear places. I mostly gave a five star to even the playing field. Yes, the staff kind of sucks, but you get what you pay for ($20 for a normal eye exam). They can also measure your PD if you ask, as for the cost of the glasses in the store, just buy them online, they're so much cheaper and better/same quality. Good service for the price. I waited 30 minutes for a sales clerk to help me. When I walked in one asked "Do you have an appointment?" I replied that I was there to order glasses. She said then they would be with me shortly. All of the 4 clerks were helping other people but when 1 of the clerks customers left, she went into the back room. When another's customer left she sat down at a desk making no contact. I looked at her, made eye contact. She got up and walked in the back room. So I left, went to Warby Parker and bought cooler glasses for less money in 20 minutes. read more

Aside from this store giving me the wrong contacts once that could have ruined my ability to see I decided to give them another chance which of I will never forgive myself. I am not sure where to start. Our appointment was made at this location several months in advance! We received a form to fill out in our email and we filled out the entire form and submitted it. We still arrived 15 minutes early to our appointment as requested even though we did our form online. The doctor was "on lunch" when it came time for our appointment AND she was running behind! Our appointments where scheduled at 2:15 and 2:30pm. We were not seen until 3:00pm. You mean to tell me that the doctor was not aware of her schedule? And when she should take her lunch? No one could call us and ask us to just come in a half hour later? My husband was very annoyed. The staff did not seem very professional. We also missed our 4pm appointment with Tower Optical to order glasses because the selection and brands offered at Visionworks is not very good. So now, it has almost been a week since my appointment and the doctor from vision works calls me. She faxed over my eye exam to my primary care physician and my PCP's office asked where was the diabetic eye exam report. The doctor from visionworks calls and states on my voicemail that they were NOT AWARE that I was diabetic and that I was any medication! This is inaccurate. It was on the FORM that I filled out in great detail. ALSO during the appointment, I mention that I had diabetic retinopathy in the past. HELLO!! Also an indicator that I have DIABETES! Now, that I keep trying to reach the office of vision works at 414-817-9100 to speak with the doctor, the phone just rings and rings without any answer.
