Because they don't offer after-school slots for new patients (the latest they offer is 2:30 PM), I had to arrange classroom coverage to leave work early as a teacher, and pull my daughters out of school. After dealing with school delays, traffic, and difficult parking, we walked into the office at 2:40 PM for our 2:30 PM appointment. The receptionist was on the phone, and when she finally acknowledged us at 2:41pm, she rudely informed me that they would not see us because we were past their 10-minute grace period by one minute. We were literally one minute late with two young kids in tow. I understand the need to stay on schedule, but to turn away a new patient who waited over a month for an appointment--and who clearly rushed to get there--over sixty seconds is completely rigid and lacking in basic customer service. We will not be back and I recommend looking elsewhere if you want an office that values its patients' time and effort.

Dr. Duvall is the 3rd dermatologist I've seen in the last 15 years +/- and BY FAR the BEST. He isn't going to waste your time taking biopsy's of every little freckle or lecturing you for lack of sunscreen. He is quick and thorough and has a very quirky and relaxing bedside manor which quickly puts you to ease if you need to have some carcinoma's removed (my weak point, 7 now!). His office is really easy to find, just go into tower B of the med towers at Mercy and go to the 5th floor, he's right there as you exit the elevator. His staff is friendly too and pricing is great, I have Blue Cross and never pay a dime however I did pay cash pricing before and it was less than $200 for a visit, lab work and going under the knife.

It would have been nice if they had some tables for folks who brought laptops to do work while waiting for the patient they were with. There were a couple of us who were balancing our computers on our laps. The chairs provided were not designed for long term sitting, they need a little more cushioning to be comfortable. It was a nice touch that they did have family friendly movies playing to entertain you while you waited for your friend/family member. The staff members that I dealt with were rather cold. There was no warmth or personality while communicating with them. Also, there were no employees of color. My friend even said the same thing when I was taking her home. She said, everyone who took care of her in the back medical area was white. In this day and age, that makes me uncomfortable.
