My vision is pretty bad - astigmatism and 5.somethings in both eyes. I went in to this local office for contacts and glasses since the readers weren't cutting it anymore. I have spent a hefty amount on office visits, contact fittings, 2 rounds of eye dilations and the lens and frame. It's been a non-stop process for about a month now. I went in on Thursday for an eye dilation to help my eyes "adjust to the prescription" and I have worn either the glasses or contacts religiously. I am still not adjusting. I am not driving since I don't feel comfortable. I just called and they can't see me until the 22nd (dr is going on vacation) and said they will check but I might have to pay another visit fee. Is this all normal or do they just suck? The contacts are a little better distance wise but it just doesn't feel "clear". Vision is worse than before and my bank account is down $700. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at Vista Eye. I went in for a routine eye exam and paid over $100 for the visit. I got my glasses filled elsewhere using the prescription they gave me, and I realized within just a few days that I still could not see clearly. The prescription simply wasn't right. I called Vista Eye to get the issue corrected, since it had only been one week since my exam. Instead of showing concern or offering to recheck the prescription, they told me I would need to pay another $60. I was shocked. I expected a clinic to stand behind the accuracy of its exam, especially within such a short time frame. I left feeling frustrated and unheard. The whole situation came across as more about collecting fees than providing patient care. I regret going here and I would not return. There are many optometrists in the Fort Worth / Keller / Timberland / Heritage area who are far more compassionate and supportive. If you value customer care and accuracy, I recommend looking elsewhere before choosing Vista Eye. read more

First off, the new facility is amazing! They did the best they could across the street, but this new location is huge and super nice. Front desk staff had me checked in quickly and the initial vision tests were performed quickly. I don't recall her name, but she was very thorough and personable--asking the right questions before Dr. Patel met with me. Dr. Patel conducted full vision tests, reviewed my exams and asked what I was looking for from my glasses (seeing far/close, my line of work, hobbies that might require vision needs, etc.). During my frames and lense selection, Kendall was excellent. She had me select frames that I liked, then offered similar looking alternatives that actually ended up being the frames I selected. She then went thru the lenses options and offered input to ensure I was making the best decisions for my needs. I can't thank her enough! Overall, this is exactly how the process should work. My appointment took less than an hour, I was involved in the feedback and selection process from start to finish, and the staff were both friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs. read more

The front desk staff gets you checked in quickly and the optometrist are always fast to see you. HOWEVER, we all know that the hardest part of going to the eye doctor is picking out glasses, ordering contacts and dealing with your insurance company. Well, not here. Talk to Mariam, she is the BEST. Not only is she friendly, but she knows her stuff. She knows how to work with your insurance, so you know what you are paying out of pocket, no surprises and helps you pick out frames that not only look good but work within your budget. Need contacts? She will check to see if there are any rebates available. We moved away but will drive over an hour to this location, just for her! read more

We have been going to Dr. Patel for a few years now and had no problem at all, until the last eye exam, after the exam, I had to go through the high pressure sales pitch to buy glasses from the optician who was very persistent, after many times I expressed to the optician that I purchase my glasses from an online retailer who gives me excellent glasses with an excellent price, when I received my glasses, I had a hard time reading fine print, the retailer told me to go back to the person who gave me the exam and have the glasses checked out, to make sure the prescription was correct, when I called Vista Eye, they first told me there would be a $45.00 charge for this service, then they called back and said they had made a mistake, because I had my exam there, it would be no charge, when I arrived I was to talk to another optician who was very egotistical to me, she first said your glasses need to be adjusted, I tried to explain to her that i had purchased the same frames I always use and that any place I move the glasses i still have a hard time viewing the fine print, I also explained to her that my previous prescription was working fine, I asked her several times if she could check the glasses to make sure the prescription was correct, she insisted that the glasses needed to be adjusted, so I asked her if she could instruct me to move my glasses to a position where I could read the fine print, after several failed attempts, I asked if she could please check the glasses, she finally took the glasses to the back of the store, and came back and said the prescription was correct on the glasses, then I knew the problem was with my new exam that Dr. Patel gave me, the very egotistical optician was not going to offer me another exam, she insisted they just need adjustment, so then I asked if she could adjust them for me, she very rudely told me since I did not purchase the glasses there, she was unable to help, I left soon after. We are human and know once and awhile we can make a mistake, I honestly think that Dr. Patel made a mistake on the new prescription, also Dr. Patel looked very ill during the exam, which might have led to the mistake, since the prescription has changed and did not work for me, I used my old prescription which works fine, to purchase another pair of glasses, I'm using the old prescription now and it works fine, I contacted the insurance company and explained this to them, they offered me another exam with no charge with another Doctor, also i received a full refund on the pair of glasses, just wish Vista Eye Associates would do the same. My Wife and I will not be going back to Vista Eye Associates in the future, just be aware, that if you don't give in to their high pressure sales tactics, Vista Eye Associates will not work with you! The first time I visited the appointment was thorough, I liked the doctor, everyone was nice but unfortunately as I was leaving they didn't give me my glasses prescription and said they'd email it because the printer wasn't working. After calling more than 3 times in the past 3 months to ask for it to be emailed it never was. Now the computers are "down" and do not have anyway of sending, printing it, or writing it down. As much as I liked the service at the time of my appointment I will be going elsewhere in the future due to unreliability. read more

I originally went to the TSO in Kingwood Texas for my prescription and they were absolutely great. However, I needed to get my frames tightened and, seeing as I don't live in Houston, I went to the TSO in keller on North Beach Street. So, as apparently all TSOs were doing, they required a mask upon arrival. No big deal, except I don't buy into wearing masks as an efficient way to prevent anything. Doctors even tell CANCER patients to not wear masks unless they filter what you breath out, out of the mask. Therefore I have not bought any masks. At the TSO in Kingwood, I walked in and they politely asked if I had a mask, I said I did not, and they kindly provided me with one. However, at this TSO in Keller, they made me pay $1 for a mask.... seriously? If it's your policy to make people wear them, you SHOULD NOT make a customer pay for YOU to take away their constitutional right to NOT wear a mask. That's just a good business practice. NOT TO MENTION, that on my phone call with them the prior day (when I told them I had never been there) they never ONCE mentioned they had a mask rule, let alone that they were charging for them if you came in without one. We are all being kind and abiding by your stupid mask rules to give business. The least you could do is provide those who have no masks, with a complimentary one. I would've gone elsewhere had I had time, but I worked in an hour and needed them right. Safe to say this TSO will NEVER be seeing my business again. I would have had no problem wearing one, or even paying $1 for one had they taken the time to make sure I knew that was going to be the case when I called the day before. The whole office was great! I showed up early and they were apologizing to me for having me wait. Doc was very thorough with the eye exam. He asked questions and made me feel comfortable to ask him questions. The frames are on the expensive side but they did what they could to help me with the cost. My husband has his first visit last year, and I went with him. When I discovered they don't do the puff of air test I immediately knew where I was going to get my eyes checked this year. The visit only got better with a super kind staff, and great optometrist. When I went in this year to get fitted for contacts Dr. Patel worked with me until I found contacts that were comfortable for my dry eyes. We found a brand I liked, and I had the full year supply in a couple of days. Easy easy. Every time I went in everyone was kind and personable. Definitely come here for your vision needs. read more

About a month ago I purchased new glasses at TSO after a bad experience at Costco Optical. The customer service was superb! They were patient with me, helped me by pulling glasses to try on and giving me honest feedback on how the glasses looked on me! Dr. Patel is great, first visit was good...expensive glasses but needed it. My eyes are still not right so redid the eye test and said there is little difference. The fool at the front counter after I told him I wanted contact tried to sell me another expensive pair after I already told him I told the Dr. I wanted contacts. I was only interested in month wear not daily. He said something stupid like "the doctor will not prescribe contacts if you leave them in" I was like wtf? That's the whole point I might as well buy daily wear and he agreed as it's cheaper obviously and was seriously like "wtf!?" I'm going somewhere else next time. The doctor made me take oath that I would not wear my contacts overnight which I understand and did. The doctor continued harassing me about it throughout the exam by threatening to refuse treatment, etc. even after me saying that I would take the contacts out nightly to the point that I was furious. I am not a child and don't expect to be treated like one when I am paying for a service. I understood, I complied, but that was not good enough for this doctor to understand. My family and I will not return to such an unprofessional establishment. After all, if the FDA has approved certain lenses for overnight wear, who is this quack to say otherwise. read more

This was my first eye exam in probably 15 years, and I was dreading going. Dr. Patel made the whole experience wonderful. Scheduling an appt was easy, check in was easy, and the exam itself was much better than I expected. Dr. Patel seems to have better equipment than other facilities, to make the process much quicker and easier than others. My wife, who has eye issues, was astounded by the tools he had, and how the exam machine worked and that there was no puff of air test. Great experience! read more

Quick visit- all that I interacted with were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful

I had been a faithful customer to this place for several years but as of today I am done. The dr is good but I found out that if you want to return something they show their true colors. I tried to ask for a return on glasses last week before they had even arrived I was given a long rambling speech basically saying no because they were in the process of being shipped. After speaking to a family member I have who worked as an optician for years I was told that unless they tell you or it is on a receipt stating that all sales are final they should accept a return. Today when I went in because I was told my glasses arrived I again said I wanted to return these due to finding a much better deal elsewhere. The optician unhappily told me yes they could but that there would be a 30 percent restocking fee which seemed a bit ridiculous but even with that I would still save money by going to Costco. The optician then disappeared to the back for 15 minutes supposedly to talk to the insurance company. She then comes back and states Dr. Patel said no because these are custom made glasses. Total bull, all glasses are "custom made". You pop out the lenses and resell the frame! The 30 percent restock fee would have more than covered the approximate $40 they would have been losing for throwing out the lenses. Also since your receipts do not say all sales are final you should be able to take my glasses back. You would have still made a profit with your ridiculous restock fee of $180. Now I'm out several hundred dollars on your over priced glasses but you have lost a long term customer so I hope it was worth it. read more
