The guy at the front desk was very creepy. When I caught him staring at my butt, he didn't even bother to look away, just continued staring. When I asked him if I could wait in the lobby for my ride, he said it was fine, but then after a while said that I had to leave, so I started to wait in the parking lot. Soon after he jumped on his scooter and started riding around close to me and smiling at me, he then came back around and said I had to leave the parking lot as well. Now about the room. Cozy enough temperature, but the faucet was broken, some weird woman knocked on the door around 6 AM, there were people talking all night outside my door, and loud clicking heels. For a cheap hotel, sometimes that can be expected. But that creepy guy at the front desk is what made me leave this review. read more

i booked a room for two nights, and on the second day around 4 PM. It sounded like a fight had started outside of the room. It escalated very quickly, but ended fast as well. I get it when patrons need to stay in a lower quality place for economic choices. However, at $189 a night, this was the worst place I've ever stayed in my life. If I could Yelp a Zero star I would. Some lights didn't work, dirty everything, torn upholstery, the tub bottom was filled with mop bucket drainage which doesn't answer for why the floor was so dirty, crumbs in all corners, and the curtains were ragged. No doubt a residence inn as well. If this is were you must be, it didn't seem unsafe and it was quiet. No judgments. But if you have the means to be elsewhere, do so. read more

This may not be a five-star hotel, the staff that run /own this motel, are without a doubt second to none. The innkeepers make you feel as though you're the only guest, go over and above the call of duty when it comes to the guest needs. DON'T COME HERE!!! Revising my review upon checkout. Read all the way through... 3/12/22 The price is great for the area, but you get what you pay for. It's right off the freeway and noisy. It's dirty and all of the furniture is old. There was a homeless guy in the parking lot (I gave him half of my Subway sandwich). When I went to put the other half in the mini fridge, the fridge wasn't cold. I thought it might be broken, at first, but then realized it was unplugged. Maybe they unplug every time someone checks out? Nothing like a warm fridge to greet you in a new room. Also the faucett in the bathtub was running water when I checked in. I don't mean dripping. I mean a full on stream of water that was loud enough to hear as soon as I opened the door to my room. I turned the knob over and over again and couldn't get it to turn off. I went to call the front desk to tell them about it, but the phone in the room didn't work. I checked behind the nightstand and found it was unplugged (there's a theme, here) but after I plugged it in, STILL no dial tone, so I had to walk to the night window and ask them to turn the water off. To their credit a maintenance guy came immediately, but he wasn't able to turn the water off completely. He did manage to get it to a light drip, at least, which was quiet enough that it didn't bother me other than offending my drought sensibilities. Waste of water, but maybe the energy savings from the unplugged fridge cancels that out? LOL. There was a small flat screen TV and microwave that (miracle of miracles!) were plugged in and worked. Nightstands had granite surfaces and were large enough for all my junk. There was a desk in the room. Lighting from wall lamps was soft and gold, which is soothing but not ideal for reading. Holes in the lampshades. Bed pillows were cheap and uncomfortable. Also window was wide open with a flimsy screen so any maniac could break in with little effort. Thank goodness the noisy traffic tipped me off to that because the curtains were closed and I might not have noticed, otherwise. Vista Inn is a decent last resort if you're on a budget, but I would avoid this place at all costs if you have the luxury of less affordable, better options. 3/13/22 So whatever the maintenance guy did to turn the faucett off yesterday was permanent. When I went to take a shower this morning, I couldn't turn the water on. I walked to the front window (remember, the phones don't work) to tell them I wanted a new room or a discount because I really needed a working shower. They were full, so I couldn't switch rooms. They sent the same maintenance guy from yesterday back. He removed the shower knob, did something with a screwdriver to turn the water on, put the knob back on, said something to me in Spanish (I don't speak Spanish) and left the screw driver with me. So evidently the only way to turn the water off and on is if you remove the knob and use a screwdriver to do something mysterious that I wasn't paying attention to and then put the knob back on again. The shower is still going as I'm checking out of room 103. I don't have time to figure this out. I have someplace to be. Gallons upon gallons of wasted water in a drought. These rooms are huge!! But like any other motel or inn, you get what you paid for. I've honestly stayed in much smaller rooms, but this is in a bit of a sketchy spot. But not bad, I say. Came here randomly to stay thinking it'd be fun to get a room but unfortunately came during spring break and prices were way up! Still though, the cheapest hotel room around. I definitely wouldn't stay here by myself though. Maybe I'm kind of a wuss, but the area just looks really bad and scary. Mornings pretty nice though, and the rooms are clean and basic. Consensus. Worst places I have stayed in years. We were ripped off had no place to go late at night and she knew it ad took advantage of us last minute. I was charged 129.00 for filth and noise. I was told on the phone it was 119.00 for the night for a king. She called me back then said because I wanted a non smoking room it won't be 129.00 and it would be two queens. I should not have to pay more for a non smoking room. Smokers should pay more. This room is a 39.00 - 49.00 room not what we paid. I charger 129.00 a night for my one bedroom condo I own on Maui with an ocean view. Think about it and what I paid for this filth on the side of a freeway with a filled in pool with a storage shed sitting on it I had to look at. The carpet was filthy with gum all over it, dirt behind the bed, stains on the mattress, around the sink, dirty hand prints on the doors and door jambs and electrical outlets. The tops of the door casing and top of shower was full of lint and dust and hair. See photo of dirty towel I wiped it off with. The shower drains were all rusted. Curtains coming off the rods, paint pealing.... Let alone the units being dated with furniture that all looked like it came from a second had store from 30 yrs ago. I reported all of the to the Asian manager that checked us in and out, come to find out she told me she was the owner, big surprise which explained a lot there. She came up with a lot of excuses why the unit May of looked like it did. She said the maid must of missed those things. I explained to her that I am in the vacation rental business myself and asked how can you miss major carpet stains and five huge gum spots when you vacuum and see the dirt and issues with the unit on every check out? How can you miss when your washing the sink that hot water comes out of the cold side when you are cleaning etc? The drains are rusted when your washing the shower, curtains are falling off and there are black hand prints all over the doors etc??? She replied, well we get a lot of contractors that stay here... I replied.... Exactly ever more reason why you meet with your staff to step it up with more cleaning rules to make sure it's checked and cleaned better as contractors are rougher. All she did was take 10.00 off my bill. Again. 119.00 plus taxes so I still paid 140 something for a shitty place. I would never recommend this place it should be condemned and or gutted renovated and new owners. It could be a nice place if owned and ran by owners that cared. These owners you can tell are in it only for the money not for the guests and their comfort and enjoyment. Unfortunately we can only post 10 photos there were a lot more. I heard the Vista Inn had been remodeled and I assumed this stay would be pleasant. As soon as I walked into the room, there was a strange smell. I noticed the window was wide open and without a screen protector. There was a bug on one of the pillows. Which we then flipped the entire bed over to see if there were more. The AC unit turned on, but we were unable to change the settings. There was hair on the toilet seat. The sink had a film to it, which appeared to look like dried tooth paste. The white bath towels were no longer white and they looked used and dirty. We will definitely skip this location next time. Not worth the $215 a night. read more

Bed bugs!!! Don't stay here. My friend and I both came home covered in bites on our legs, face and arms. The bites were arranged in zig zags pattens or straight lines (clearly indicating bed bugs). The hotel room was disgusting. Every surface was sticky as covered in grime. The floor was sticky and had piles of sunflower seeds in between the beds. The whole (nonsmoking) room smelled like stale cigarettes. The toilet was worse than anything else in the room. Save yourself. This hotel shouldn't be open for business. read more

NEVER TRUST THIS INN! If I could put below one star I would. Rooms had been reserved a month in advance with the assurance that they would be clean and and cleared for my reservation. Upon arrival the disrespectful woman working the desk claimed the rooms that had been reserved were no longer avaliable as she had overbooked them. In addition she refused to offer any sense of consolation or attempt to properly compensate or ammend for her mistake and insisted that the overbooking was my fault. Friendly staff but would not recommend if you're a light sleeper. Walls are paper thin, sounds like you're sleeping in a tent on the freeway. "Cash customer $50 deposit for tv remote control!" "You no like policies you sleep in your car!" "Free coffee and danishes 7am to 11am!!!" "Free Wi-Fi but you must tell us because only works in some rooms!" "Yes we give change for washer machine! Three quarters for each dollar!" "We don't have a pool but all your clothes dirty anyway!" "Checkout time 11am" Plenty of parking. Plenty of hot water. Um... Never heard any gunshots while I was nearby. Um... The room had a bed?... Um... There were plenty of electrical outlets to charge your phone?... Um... Yeah... Figure $50-70 per night depending on how the people at the desk feel that day. I guess you could do worse. Yes, you get what you pay for but there are way CLEANER and BETTER places you can stay than this place for $80. We figured we'd try it since it's just one night. Instant regret. The first room they put us in was disgusting. The toilet lid had sh** stains even though it ironically had a "sanitized" band on it and some unidentifiable spit or some other bodily fluid on the seat and slight blood stains on the door moldings? WTF. It smelled like cigarette smoke right as you go in. Yes they were nice enough to put us in a "smoke free" "cleaner" room next door but even though this second room didn't have a sh**-stained toilet, the bed sheets had dried up you-know-what on them. Thank goodness we keep camping pillows and sheets in our car because we would've caught a disease from sleeping in that bed with those sheets. One of the hand towels had a pube on it. A pube. And most of their "white" towels had questionable dingy stains on them ever after they've been "washed." My boyfriend dealt with the staff and we didn't have a problem with them but the location, maintenance, and cleanliness in this place...it should be shut down. I wish I could give zero stars! While the lady at the front desk was very friendly, the room was the most disgusting place I've ever seen! I was afraid to sit on the bed or touch anything. I checked in and checked back out within an hour. I'm fairly certain that any review above 1 star is fake and/or left my a homeless person grateful to not be sleeping under a stairwell. A severe mildew smell greets you upon opening the door, but as you walk around the room and take in the stained, dented, 1980s microwave and fridge, the massive mold issue in the tub, the yellowy stained towels that were once white, or how about the black hairs all over the pillows? They gave me a king size bed for my self and my 15 year old son, I'm sure it was by mistake but this man in a strange hat said that's all we have. The room was supposed to be smoke free but the room wreaked horridly of stale cigarettes. The room would have gotten myself and my son off the street and I turned it down. But then the next day, I spoke to a lovely oriental lady who apologized for the strange behavior of the fellow. She then gave me a roll away bed for the room and invited me to come back. So I checked in on Friday and waited 10min for gal to come from back room...(wasnunsure if she worked there because she was dressed in street clothes and hair was pulled back in a messy ponytail) it took about 5min to check in, but she had a hard time finding my booking because the internet was slow. She handed a metal key with scotch tape on it that had a room umber written in it...oh and before die arrived a gal walked past the front door with a puppy who had sores all over her arms, legs, and face and was headed up to the stairwell and I walked out to ask her about the person who worked here, but before I could say anything she said she was just walking to sit in the steps a second while she waited for her ride and it wouldn't be long, like I worked there I let her know I didn't work there to which she then said sorry and that she was just waiting because she got kicked out if her house because she was homeless. Now back to checking in I take the key and go to walk to stairwell to get to my room and same gal is crouched in hall charging her phone and all her things and the puppy are under the stairwell I continue to the room and first thing I see is toenail clipping in the floor I figure ill just ask you have them vacuum when I go to work later, because I actually live down the street, I just have family in town and gave up my room to have a mini vacation and still get sleep while my family is in town since I work till 2 am at a local bar and they are from the East coast and I don't want to get up at 5am....back to the Inn...i move the telephone and find 2 big shards of meth under it on the nightstand also a hand towel was behind the same night stand, I immediately go down to the front desk and show the girl and ask her to gave housekeeping vacuum that I had to run and do an errand...i get back and room has not been vacuumed, but by this time it time for me to get ready for work but I'm annoyed and decided to turn down the sheets and happen to find blood stains and dog hair...which in the front desk area a sign is posted "no pets". So I pull all bedding off and pile by door and figure ill ask for sheets on my way into work...i go into the restroom and pull the sanitary tape off to find piss on the toilet seat! And at the bottom of the shower there was a fine powder which in sure was from pouring germacide in the shower, but I shower and get ready anyways and as I leave I go to front desk and ask if she had room vacuumed to which she replied that she had asked if they had vacuumed and they said yes...NOT that they revacuumed, which they did not! I reported the issue about the piss and asked for clean sheets that the sheets had blood spots and that I would be going home to pick up my own comforter...at 2:30am I made my bed with the 2 top sheets, no fitted sheet. I woke up to go back home to spend time with my family, but stopped by front desk and asked that my room NOT be serviced! I also worked Saturday and Sunday I got up eiped my mirror the shower head and facet, the bathroom counter and facet piled my towels and the sheets in one spot only used one trash can and left it in bathroom opened the curtains and walked down to from desk...to return the key...i also asked the same gal if I would be getting a partial refund for all of the issues and she said no! That because didn't ask for it initially there was nothing she could do!? I left my phone number to speak with owner in person and told her I was gonna talk to housekeeping...i went to speak to the housekeeper but she said she doesn't undr stand in Spanish ...the housekeeping crew was dressed in street clothes as well.. it is my strong believe that your work reflects on the type in person you are! If you want to be a 5dtar give 5 star service and expect your service personnel to give it! Dress professionally and take pride in your work! I returned 4 days later since they are less than 5 miles from my house and same girl with shitty attitude is there and I tell her no one has returned my email, or called from note I gave her. Buyer Beware! I stayed at this property in May 2019. I checked in during a downpour. The room was rather spartan, lamp shades were askew, but the bed was made, it was late, and I was tired. In the morning, I was out early (graduation wkend). I noted that there was a hole in the bathroom where the fan should've been, the bathtub was stained and dirty. I cleaned it with soap and a towel before use. The floors were so dirty, that after bathing, my feet were black from walking on the floors. I returned shortly after dinner, and found that the bed was uade, there were no fresh towels, and the bathroom was dirty. I put food in the fridge, and noted the refrigerator was old, and caked with ice. There were red spots on the floor near the bed that looked like blood. The desk clerk came and cleaned the bathroom, and brought fresh towels When I showed her the red spots, she insisted it was cleaning fluid. Clearly, the floor wasn't properly mopped if those kinds of spots remain (whether cleaning solution or dried blood). I asked for another room, but she said they were "busy", and refused. On checkout, I was told that no portion of the payment could be refunded, as the charge goes through at checkin. This place is a dump. Buyer beware. read more

If I could do zero stars I would. My aunt reserved rooms for us as we drive from Seattle to Vista to move her north. We arrived at 3:30 am and waited 20 minutes for someone to check us in. We had called, knocked on the door and buzzed at the window. Parking lot had quite a few people just "hanging" around. Finally get our key, and the hallways reek of urine, filled with garbage. Ok well we can sleep for a few hours then move somewhere else. The room was smelly, I found hair on my pillow, stains not only on the blankets but the sheets as well. The second bed, we sat on and it literally popped up off the frame. Our neighbor has her door open and they were in the room openly using needles. Yeah we requested our money back immediately and left for other accommodations. Maybe back in the day, for a hotel party when we were younger, but this place is not fit for anything other than that. read more

Look around, missing outlet cover, no smoke detector, can not control volume on tv whatever, the bathroom was just as bad! Missing decor wall tile and drywall showing signs of mold, t/p holder missing roller, and the tub and surround need replacing, all patched up! Stayed here for Comicon in 2013. Perfect for what we needed. A place to crash while we drove to downtown San Diego. It took about 40 mins. Since it's conveniently close to the freeway it made it easy to get to Qualcomm and take the shuttle in. Plus there's a diner within walking distance. I'm giving it 5 stars because it's great value. The lady at the front desk was kind. The guy at the front desk helped me with my internet connection. I will definitely use this again for comicon. read more

This establishment is like a truck stop from a horror movie. It is right next to a major freeway. I went to 2 rooms on 2 separate floors on two different sides of the building, the road noise could be clearly heard in both rooms. And some cars/trucks are much louder than others. I specifically asked for a quiet room in my reservation, they can't possibly provide that anywhere on that property. The location alone should prevent you from staying at this place unless it is offered for only $20/night, but it gets much worse. The rooms are old and smell funky/damp/moldy. My girlfriend got freaked out by the guys who hang out at this place and started pleading with me to leave. As soon as she shared her sentiment with me, my reply was: "I think we should get the heck out of here as well". Worst part was the staff, or better yet lack there off. There was a young Hispanic girl at the counter with no authority to do anything. And when I say no authority, I mean no authority. She is just there to call the crazy Asian lady who manages the place. Forget about professional hospitality treatment, you are lucky if you could communicate with the managing lady over the phone as she barely speaks broken English. She is not even there. And she has no fewer than 14 different cameras pointed at the counter. I am not kidding! and I can't make that up. We left the place and the lady charged us $120.00 for the first night. Said it is their policy. Are you kidding me?! This place is not even worth $40/night. It would be worth $20/night if it did not have bed bugs. Then again, other reviewers here point out that they got bed bugs from it. Stayed there for a night and hey for the price was pretty clean. I usually am the picky type when it comes to hotels but hey needed to save some money. The room is a decent size and have a frig and microwave. The tv was a old tube tv had all the channels (but sometimes would cut in and out when you're watching tv. Maybe just the room I had). The bed was ok had a few lady's long hair on the blanket (assumed it was from house keeping) but no stains or anything on the sheets and no bugs. The shower was decent doesn't clog and had good water pressure and bathroom in all was pretty clean. I mean not a 5 star hotel or nothing but hey for a night or so it's cool. 3 stars for my one night experience. read more
