i booked a room for two nights, and on the second day around 4 PM. It sounded like a fight had started outside of the room. It escalated very quickly, but ended fast as well. I was very unsatisfied with the cleanliness of this room. And I no longer felt safe inside or outside of the hotel. I do not think this place is bad, it does seem to have lots of traffic, and is very active with people.

The "clean towels" they gave me

The only good thing about this is there's no deposit! But why would there be? it's (for lack of a better word) a shithole! The employees make it that much more awful! i asked for extra towels and both times they gave me dirty towels. This place should be bulldozed! Great place to buy drugs though!!!

For some reason they unplug the refrigerator. Maybe for energy savings? So it's warm and unplugged when you check in.

DON'T COME HERE!!! Revising my review upon checkout. Read all the way through... 3/12/22 The price is great for the area, but you get what you pay for. It's right off the freeway and noisy. It's dirty and all of the furniture is old. There was a homeless guy in the parking lot (I gave him half of my Subway sandwich). When I went to put the other half in the mini fridge, the fridge wasn't cold. I thought it might be broken, at first, but then realized it was unplugged. Maybe they unplug every time someone checks out? Nothing like a warm fridge to greet you in a new room. Also the faucett in the bathtub was running water when I checked in. I don't mean dripping. I mean a full on stream of water that was loud enough to hear as soon as I opened the door to my room. I turned the knob over and over again and couldn't get it to turn off. I went to call the front desk to tell them about it, but the phone in the room didn't work. I checked behind the nightstand and found it was unplugged (there's a theme, here) but after I plugged it in, STILL no dial tone, so I had to walk to the night window and ask them to turn the water off. To their credit a maintenance guy came immediately, but he wasn't able to turn the water off completely. He did manage to get it to a light drip, at least, which was quiet enough that it didn't bother me other than offending my drought sensibilities. Waste of water, but maybe the energy savings from the unplugged fridge cancels that out? LOL. There was a small flat screen TV and microwave that (miracle of miracles!) were plugged in and worked. Nightstands had granite surfaces and were large enough for all my junk. There was a desk in the room. Lighting from wall lamps was soft and gold, which is soothing but not ideal for reading. Holes in the lampshades. Bed pillows were cheap and uncomfortable. Also window was wide open with a flimsy screen so any maniac could break in with little effort. Thank goodness the noisy traffic tipped me off to that because the curtains were closed and I might not have noticed, otherwise. Vista Inn is a decent last resort if you're on a budget, but I would avoid this place at all costs if you have the luxury of less affordable, better options. 3/13/22 So whatever the maintenance guy did to turn the faucett off yesterday was permanent. When I went to take a shower this morning, I couldn't turn the water on. I walked to the front window (remember, the phones don't work) to tell them I wanted a new room or a discount because I really needed a working shower. They were full, so I couldn't switch rooms. They sent the same maintenance guy from yesterday back. He removed the shower knob, did something with a screwdriver to turn the water on, put the knob back on, said something to me in Spanish (I don't speak Spanish) and left the screw driver with me. So evidently the only way to turn the water off and on is if you remove the knob and use a screwdriver to do something mysterious that I wasn't paying attention to and then put the knob back on again. The shower is still going as I'm checking out of room 103. I don't have time to figure this out. I have someplace to be. Gallons upon gallons of wasted water in a drought. DO NOT COME HERE!

These rooms are huge!! But like any other motel or inn, you get what you paid for. I've honestly stayed in much smaller rooms, but this is in a bit of a sketchy spot. But not bad, I say. Came here randomly to stay thinking it'd be fun to get a room but unfortunately came during spring break and prices were way up! Still though, the cheapest hotel room around. I definitely wouldn't stay here by myself though. Maybe I'm kind of a wuss, but the area just looks really bad and scary. Mornings pretty nice though, and the rooms are clean and basic. Consensus. It's "alright".

Shit splatters and mold in the "sanitized" toilet

Place was disgusting. Paid over 200$ for a room. Checked in and the room had roaches all over!! Lady at the front said "I don't have to look I believe you." She gave us a second room. Sink was broke, "sanitized" toilet had shit splatters and mold, our pillows had black stains and what looked like black mold dots on them. The sheets were the quality of shower curtains, tv did not work and NO REFUND. Wish I could give this place no stars it fucking sucks.

We stayed in a room with two queen beds. It was a nice size room on the fourth floor. Not much of a view since the hotel backs into the side of a mountain. The bathroom was also a nice size without it being a handicap room. The shower had no pressure, so that really stank. Please note that it is pet-friendly, so you just that in mind if you have pet dander allergies. The hotel itself is only five years old, so still really new. Our stay included breakfast, and it had most of your standards: sausage, eggs, hashbrown, fruit, yogurt, etc. What was so great was the made to order omelettes! They had a good variety of ingredients, so it was fun to make your own. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly! Didn't use any of the amenities, so I can't speak to that knowledgeably.

Fantastic let's do that. In the mean time feel free to use the pool, bathroom on the left to change. Went the pool. Two pools, not huge but has a little bar. The pool wasn't crowded but we struggled to find a chair that wasn't reserved with a towel; we spotted 1 empty chair under an umbrell, as we approached a young gentleman grabbed the chair at took it across the pool to the umbrella his family was under. Lol. Okay. We just sat our things on the concrete under the umbrella hoping it wouldn't be long and enjoyed the pool. After checking a couple times and our encounter with the OTHER, older front desk lady; our room was ready at 4. That's check in time. The room was large and pretty nice; we did notice the floors were a bit "damp". The little patio with the chairs and view, very nice. We were able to hear the live music coming from marina bar as we were sitting outside of our room taking in the view. We took out a paddle boat that was complimentary at check in. The lake itself is very nice, pretty peaceful considering it sits smack-dab in the middle of a neighborhood. What makes my review a 3.8 isnt the accommodation. Recommended. The first summer was partial ocean view with a balcony and the second, third, and fourth booking we paid an upgrade for an ocean view with a balcony. After checking in this July at 11:30 am, we got into our room at 2:30 pm. We discovered that we didn't have a balcony like the other 3 visits. Instead, we had a Juliet or faux balcony. We could only step outside, not move around, nor sit. The balcony was essentially a giant window looking at their sister property Mission Pacific and the street. We had no balcony to sit and look at the ocean view we booked and PREPAID for as an upgrade 5 months prior to the stay. I called the front desk. They claimed we booked a room with a Juliet balcony and had no other availability. This is untrue, per the listing image I have included in this review. They offered us a balcony with city view or a room with a king-sized bed. We were a family of 4 traveling with 2 teenagers. They offered no other help or compensation. At Costco's suggestion, I asked about their sister property next door and I asked them to include the reduced valet and our food credits that were part of the February package we already paid for. When I checked in next door at Mission Pacific, I discovered our reservation hadn't been transferred. It had only been re-booked and we needed to pay the market rate for the next 4 nights even though we pre-paid $2300+ for Seabird back in February. I spent at least a half-hour at the front desk trying to negotiate and get a room resembling what we had paid for 5 months ago. MP's management was great and was able to accommodate our requests. After THREE HOURS of stressing and trying to solve this issue, we finally had some type of resolution. We stayed at MP from July 6-10. At about 4pm July 10, Seabird Hyatt emailed me to remind me that they arranged for our move to Mission Pacific, and provided a $300 resort credit along with discounted valet parking as a gesture of goodwill. ABSOLUTELY NOT! They made us a reservation only, and the resort credit and discounted valet parking was part of the package we paid for back in February! Absolutely NOTHING was provided as a gesture of goodwill. Furthermore, our Costco package included a rental car that we had no intention of using, but the price was cheaper. We ended up losing about $36 for the stress of booking at Seabird Hyatt, with an upgraded room with ocean view that was downgraded upon arrival. Seabird had the entire week of our stay to contact us and attempt to make things right. We are quite disappointed in the way this hotel treats their return guests. I do not recommend Seabird Hyatt in Oceanside, California at all.

My husband had just finished working six consecutive shifts at the fire department, and we were simply looking forward to a nice evening together. As we entered the parking lot, two men in a golf cart crossed in front of our vehicle. My husband honked, and there was later a brief verbal exchange about what had happened. There were no threats or physical confrontation from us, and we believed the matter was over. Later, while we were still seated at our dinner table, a woman we had never met approached us and began questioning us about the parking-lot interaction. She told us that she and her husband were club members, repeatedly referenced their membership, said she had never seen us there before, and told us she "didn't want any problems in the future." I cannot speak to what she intended, but the encounter made both of us feel intimidated, unwelcome, and extremely uncomfortable. We later learned that an Aviara Country Club member event was being held at the restaurant that evening. After dinner, we discovered that our vehicle had been extensively damaged while parked on the property. Carlsbad Police investigated, and surveillance footage from the property documented what occurred. An individual associated with the earlier parking-lot encounter became the alleged suspect during the investigation. Our vehicle ultimately sustained nearly $15,000 in repair costs. I am intentionally not identifying anyone or making any statement about guilt. I am simply describing what my husband and I experienced that evening. What has disappointed us most is Park Hyatt Aviara's response afterward. I personally contacted hotel management and was told that Hyatt was cooperating with police, which we appreciated. We were also told that someone from Aviara Golf Club management would contact us to discuss what happened. That call never came. I understand that a hotel cannot control the actions of every person on its property, and I am not assigning legal responsibility to Hyatt. My concern is how we were treated as guests after such a serious and disturbing experience. We experienced an uncomfortable confrontation during dinner, left to discover nearly $15,000 in damage to our vehicle, and had to involve law enforcement. Yet we never felt the level of concern, communication, or follow-through we expected from a five-star property. That is what has been most disappointing. We chose Park Hyatt Aviara because we expected exceptional hospitality and guest care consistent with the Park Hyatt name. Instead, we left feeling uncomfortable, unsupported, and profoundly disappointed. I sincerely hope Park Hyatt Aviara considers how guests are cared for when something goes seriously wrong during their visit.

It's an all suites hotel so it served that need. The room itself on appearance was very nice, perhaps recently refurbished and felt clean and modern. We had a couple experiences which made it a little weird though. The rooms have motion detecting lights that you can only sort of control. The shower for example...the light turns off when you're in the shower as it doesn't sense your motion and there's no way (obvious to us) to force it to stay on. That was a bummer for the 2 of us who wanted to shower but had to do so in the dark unless we opened the shower door and waved our arm around to hopefully catch the attention of the sensor to give us another 30 seconds of light. This also happens if you're sitting on the toilet. The last thing I want to think about in that situation is having to provide additional motion so the light doesn't turn out. In the living space, a light also automatically turns on when it senses motion. Not great for having our son trying to sleep in that room and us having to move through it to leave the room or access the kitchen to have all the lights suddenly turn on around our sleeping boy. Also had a disappointing non-fitness room experience. The fitness room was no accessible because of renovations...okay bad luck in terms of timing...but they said I could go to the adjacent Hampton Inn and use their fitness room which was open 24 hours. So I did, but, unfortunately their fitness room actually isn't open 24 hours as I learned when I got there. So no fitness room and wasted time walking in the rain to the hotel next door based in the inaccurate info given by the staff. So overall disappointing and strange (especially the lights situation)...seems like they forget to dot a few Is when setting these rooms up.
