Previously, the staff had been helpful - That all changed on my most recent visit. I had purchased a quart of black, custom color match paint. When I picked it up, there was no color dot indicator on the lid, but I didn't think much of it. However, when I recently opened it to start a new project, I discovered that instead of giving me the black paint I had purchased, I had received a quart of white paint. I brought it back to the store with my original color sample asking to have it remixed. I was met by not only annoyance but also accusations. The same employee, who had previously feigned a polite demeanor, was now accusing me of putting other paint in their container? This was a brand new container, & I had not tampered with the paint. His response was so bizarre and unwarranted. I understand that people make mistakes, but to be unwilling to accept any responsibility and to make such wild accusations is completely unacceptable. I insisted that they had clearly given me someone else's paint, to which he replied, "Go Fuck Yourself." You can tell a lot about a person by how they behave when there is a problem. I suspect that I'm not alone in complaining about receiving the wrong paint. If you are a woman, be warned as this "family owned" store seems to operate under the impression they can talk and treat you with complete and utter disregard.

Brisa to the rescue! She was so helpful! She walked me through each sheen, different grades of paint for different rooms, and waited patiently while I called my painter. I left with confidence, which is a great feeling after being frazzled by colors and costs. I returned days later for more of the same wall color and stupidly brought my Home Depot color match sample and not the Dunn Edwards formula I was actively using. The staff helped me understand undercoats and was very helpful overall in looking at the color samples. They also pointed out that the colors will change hue from different angles. This piece of advice helped me to slow my "paint" roll and more carefully consider how the room/s to be painted are lit by sunlight and lamplight. Thank you!

When I got to the store, there was a sign on the window saying out to lunch until 355. I had arrived at 3:30 sitting in my car. I saw the employee going into the building so I knocked on the door and told him im the guy who called and he just kept pointing at the sign saying he was not gonna be available until 355. So I left. Maybe management should train people to let people know on the phone what their lunch hours are when they're gonna close the store for lunch. Love your paint.

The color advisor was nice and down to help me pick out some truly wild colors for my apartment. The associates were friendly, and even the people in the back were nice when they handed me the paint. Love that the paints have basically no odor/VOCs and that they're very sun resistant. I paint, crack the window for the night and the room is ready to go.

On Labor Day, September 7th, I stopped by Kim's Home Center with my Mom…read more This is a very old and well-known shopping center that has been around for a very long time. They carry all kinds of useful everyday products, many of which are imported from Korea. The store has two floors and sells everything from clothing and underwear to household items, beauty products, and many other practical things. My Mom has probably been here dozens of times, maybe even more than 100 times, over the years, and I've also been here many times myself. But surprisingly, this is my first time ever writing a review for this place! We went there this time because I was looking for a sports bra. My Mom highly recommended this store because she said Korean underwear tends to fit Korean body types better and is more comfortable. One of the things I really liked was that you can actually try on bras in the fitting room before buying them. The employee was very kind and helpful. She explained the different sizes and helped me choose which sports bra would work best for me. After trying on a few options in the fitting room, I found a sports bra that fit me perfectly and was very comfortable. I ended up buying two of them, one black and one beige. My Mom also wanted to buy a pair of underwear, so I purchased three items together. After that, we went downstairs to the first floor, where I bought a Korean hair-dye product that is apparently designed to be used almost like shampoo. I also ended up buying a pair of slippers to wear at home. My Mom also bought a Korean product called "Bal-eul Ssiseuja" ("발을 씻자") which I recommended to her. It has apparently become extremely popular in Korea recently. The funny thing is that I somehow ended up with three separate receipts that day! First, I paid separately for the sports bras. Then I bought the hair-dye product and checked out separately. Later, while looking around for household items, I suddenly thought, "Oh, should I buy a pair of slippers too?" So I bought those separately as well. This place is always extremely popular because they sell such a huge variety of useful everyday products and household items. Because of that, the parking lot is always very crowded. There is security staff helping direct cars in the parking lot, which is helpful. However, the lot is still pretty tight and busy. I'm especially not very good at parking in narrow parking spaces, so it was actually really convenient and relaxing to come with my Mom, who is an excellent driver and very good at parking. Overall, I had a really nice shopping trip here with my Mom. It's one of those places where you can always find something useful, even when you didn't originally plan on buying it!

Kim's Home Center is the OG Home Goods shop in Koreatown and I love it…read more They have a small parking lot which can fill up quickly but it's nice that they have one in KTown! Staff has always been friendly and kind, keeping in mind speaking Korean is helpful if you are looking for something specific. It's NOT necessary, just helpful. They have so many Korean focused products mostly in home goods like kitchen items, tons of bedding, rice cookers and kimchi fridges, but also things like makeup, skincare and clothes. Well priced house slippers with a lot of options! The entire second floor is electronics and more expensive goods, which I hear are not the best to buy here. I usually stick to cheaper items, more kitchen and cooking related needs at Kim's. They have a pretty strict return policy which I hear is a bit risky for more pricey items. I went in specifically for Makgeolli supplies and was so happy to find the pot & cups I needed, at nearly half the price of amazon! Support local stores instead of shopping online! I'm definitely a fan of Kim's Home Center and will come here for all my related needs in the future.
