I have been to almost all the dunn edwards shops in southern california and this is definitely one of the worst stores with the one in LA and PCh in Torrance. I have been here several times and the people here are so irresponsible. A latino man in the register told me to wait and was throwing boxes, he made me wait about 5mins. If i were him, i would stop what i was doing and help the customer instead of making him waiting... another issue that i had was I asked for eye match and the guy told that it'll be ready in an hour but then there was other employee when i went back and said the guy left her the work and she just came back from break.... which means they didnt even start making it;;;; and telling me if i want refund when they know i need the paint instead of telling me to get it done asap. My contractors had some issues matching paint at this store and told me the store wouldn't take the paint back. I went there and spoke with the manager who was respectful and understanding of the situation. My confidence in doing further business was restored and the manager was very professional and helpful. We just had the interior of my Mom's house painted last weekend. I headed to Dunn-Edwards to choose all the paint colors. We had previously got paint chips/swatches from another brand and I needed to match the colors to Dunn-Edwards. Everyone in the store is super helpful and friendly. They immediately greet you when you walk in and really know their stuff. I asked to match the color chips I had. The gentleman at the paint counter first matched it visually against their color fandeck. Then just to make sure he input the colors into their computer program and he had chosen correctly. I also requested to use the free sample coupon on the Yelp listing. I wanted to get a sample of a color we were thinking about for the exterior. He got right on it while I headed to the register to order it. We had the three bedrooms each painted a different color: Break of Day (butter yellow), Cloudless (light blue), and Misty Hillside (sage green) all in eggshell gloss level. We also had the living room, bathrooms, and all the trim and ceilings in the house painted Van de Cane (slight off white). The painter ordered it all in their Spartawall finish. All the paint looks great! The eggshell gloss was such a good choice. It kind of adds a texture to the walls. We are especially crazy over Misty Hillside. It's a gorgeous calming color. Whatever your painting job and color choice, Dunn-Edwards has what you want/need! And the people there really help you and make you feel welcome. I'm glad we used them. read more

Waited 37 minutes in line to get a sample color quart. Dealt with a manager (name withheld because maybe he was having a bad day) who charged me the highest price for the quart sample after saying he would take good care of me. That left me with a bad taste in my mouth about the store. Two of the four employees in the store claimed to be on lunch when I asked them for help. That left two people to take care of the swelling crowd of customers who were waiting for service. Good job again, Mr. Manager for having half your crew go out on lunch break at the same time. Turns out that the color sample formula in their system was wrong anyway, so the whole 37 minute wait and being over charged for the wrong color sample was a complete waste of time. read more

My wife and I have been working on our guest house and needed both indoor and outdoor paint. Our trip to Dunn Edwards in MDR was excellent, even though we showed up later on a Saturday. The manager Sonny was very helpful in explaining the different paint qualities and finishes to best accomplish our goals. Then James our color mixing expert, knocked out a perfect match to 3 samples we brought in both semi-gloss and egg shell finishes. Add to this duo the kindness of Kiyara that walked around and helped us gather all of the materials: brushes, drop clothes, etc. All around a great crew doing a top notch job. I love the MDR Home Depot for just about everything, but that paint center is a nightmare. Whenever I see professional painters working commercial jobs they are using Dunn-Edwards paint. I needed to touch up a patch on my wall, from the plumbing work I did, recently. I actually found an original gallon of flat white paint, in my storeage, from Dunn Edwards, which was used to paint that wall several years ago. That paint can had hardened paint in it. I peeled off the entire label, and took it to this store. I went to the rear corner counter, of the store, where they mix paints. I showed my label to this youngish, latino looking guy. He did have a slight attitude. He said they only make it in gallons and not quarts. I just need to touch up a 12" x 12" area. So, he gives me a quart of flat white, that is not the same "brand." I asked if it would match. He said: Yes, it's white paint. Well, I know that white is the most difficult color to match. I confirmed this with a long time friend, who was a professional painter. I took the quart of the flat white paint to the cashier counter. As I was getting ready to pay, I confirmed it with the gentleman at the register. He said that it will not match. I asked why the other guy said that it would match. He didn't know, and he apologized. The youngish guy, who was so certain that the two different brands would match, needs an education on customer service and paint matching. read more

These guys are either scammers, or don't know their product. They sold me 5 gallons of primer because they claimed they don't sell any outdoor self-priming wood paint. After spending an entire day priming, low and behold, the outdoor wood paint they sold me is in fact self-priming. read more

We are about to have the interior of our home painted and the paint contractor had given us a swatch book to use that was not Dunn Edwards. So, we had gone to another retailer to choose our colors, only to be told afterward that they only used Dunn Edwards paint. It was a little frustrating because the different paint manufacturers do not necessarily have the same colors based on name or number. I went to Dunn Edwards on Lincoln and spoke with Brian and he told me that if I brought in the samples they would match them for me. The next day I took the paint samples to Jose and he patiently went through them with me and placed the order for matching samples. One of the paint colors could not be matched in the sample size so Jose had an entire gallon made -- at no extra cost! I picked the samples up today and took them to our house and they matched perfectly with the original paint colors we had picked! Thank you to Brian and Jose for taking time to help me. Picking paint colors is very difficult and they made everything much easier (having to go through the process of picking them again was just more than I could bear!).
