Possibly the medication killed off all the good bacteria and allowed latent c. difficile to take over. Or possibly, since he was there for hours on an IV drip, and had to use the tiny bathroom afforded to his particular ER bed, he picked it up there. They did have a cleaning person waiting to clean his bathroom once he left. However, c. difficile cannot be killed with alcohol wipes, he tells me. I suspect the former, which it is high time that doctors take into account the bad effect of antibiotics on killing off "good bacteria" and disruption of the human biome when treating patients. But a heads up in case it is the latter (ER needs deep cleaning / sanitation). On the COVID front, which another reviewer mentioned that a doctor at LFH said, from March 13, 2020: let me add that during a period between January and March, 2020, a WHO spokeswoman was making statements to the whole world that air flights were completely safe to take as long as a three foot distance was maintained between passengers.

Granted, I have difficult veins but they're ER nurses!! IVs are something they should be doing every day, ALL day... you would think they'd be pros. The doctor came in (I swear he was drunk) after about an hour and ordered a blood draw, breathing treatment, chest X-ray, and an MRI of my head, because I hit hard when I fell. Tests were done quickly but nurse could barely get blood - then I waited HOURS for results. Except for the breathing treatment and tests, I received no care, at all but was there for 7 hours!!!! I finally told the nurse to get my discharge papers because I was leaving. I can't believe I actually stayed that long! (Possibly drunk?) doctor comes in, says I have bronchitis and maybe pneumonia, and he's going to order antibiotics and cough medicine. That's it. They weren't busy, either. The nurses were standing around talking and only one other person was brought in while I was there. I would never go there again and, if I hadn't been taken in an ambulance, I wouldn't have gone there this time. It's sad because it was a great hospital when it was Victory and is still a nice facility.

Generally speaking, you don't come to an emergency medical center under great circumstances. A…read moregood ER can make a miserable situation way less awful. Northwestern Medicine Grayslake's ER is one of the better ERs in the surrounding counties, in my experiences. The times I've taken people here, they were well staffed at all hours. The staff were all very competent at their respective jobs, with a fairly good approach and attitude given the circumstances. The facility was generally pretty good, and it's in an easily-accessible location. Since I've been to a lot of ERs in the area, I can make a few comparisons... As far as staff on hand, when I visited, Northwestern Grayslake's ER had more staff - check in, aides, nurses, and doctors - than Advocate Condell, Skokie, Advocate Lutheran or Chicago Methodist. They seemed on par with Highland Park and Lake Forest, with how well the attended to a patient. When it comes to bedside manner, Northwestern Grayslake's ER staff all were cordial at the very least, and actually pretty warm in many instances. Really, I think they were some of the nicest and most understanding ER staff in the area, similar with Lake Forest, Glenview and Vista Medical. As a former medivac EMT-B; I've seen many times how cordial disposition of first responders and care providers can stave off the onset of shock, make it easier to stabilize a patient, extract useful information, and just makes for a better all-around experience for everyone involved. As far as competency, from what I've gathered, Northwestern Grayslake's ER is pretty good. They seem to be just behind the ERs at Lake Forest, Highland Park, and about as good as Glenbrook. They definitely seemed better than Advocate Condell, Advocate Lutheran, Sweetish, and Skokie hospitals' ERs. That said, even the worst ER I've been to in northeast Illinois was still better than ERs I've been to in other states, so I think folks in the region are in reasonably good hands. The Northwestern Medical Center Grayslake's ER is fairly conveniently located just west of a good intersection, easy enough to enter right off of Belvedere Rd. in either direction. There's an entrance that's easy to turn into from southbound 45, though sometimes be a little annoying from northbound 45 during rush hours. The main entrance has a covered and well-lit half circle to drop patients off. Immediately to the southwest of the entrance is handicap parking and emergency parking. The main parking lot is to the northeast, and there's plenty of spots. It's fairly well lit, security drives through every 20 ~ 30 minutes, and they do have emergency intercom beacons. The waiting area is spacious, with a handful of chairs spaced around. The vending area is bare bones, but functional. The gender-neutral restroom and family restroom are well maintained, but there can be a wait during peak hours. There are plenty of hand sanitizing stations, and free face mask are available. They have a TV, but it's otherwise pretty spartan. Fortunately, there are several restaurants and stores in the immediate area - confer with Yelp if you need something to eat, or to pick up sundries.

I never even met the incompetent prick! Yet somehow this magical precognitive "quack" of a "Dr" is all over my discharge papers as being "treated by" and diagnosing me with severe dental caries which basically boils down to drinking sugary drinks, frequent snacking of sugary food, poor oral hygiene, SUBSTANCE ABUSE, and eating disorders...man another mystifying gift to have remote viewing access to my mouth that is completely abscessed causing me immense pain from a botched root canal 5 years ago! Meanwhile he had his immoral broken English nurse May Suasin calling me a liar when I questioned how she knew how much Norco I needed for a severe tooth abcess when my vitals, height, and weight were NEVER taken or asked of me! Then to make matters even more disgusting she threatened to have me mentally evaluated because I fought her on it and trust me they WERE NOT! Bit*h please! You're a nurse practioner and I really uneducated dumb one at that!! So I asked broken English May to please enlighten me with these alleged stats that HER staff allegedly took; she told me I weighed 93 kg and to do my own math (the impeccable bedside manner though!) which translated in America to 204.6 lbs. that's weird? How the fu*k did I manage to gain 7 lbs in a matter of 1 to 2 hours when I wasn't even offered water out of a dog dish?!? Then to cover their asses they sent some mongoloid in to actually take them for the acTual real FIRST time in which I argued with by saying I thought you already had those why would you need them again! So I told him my height 5' 5" 1/2 , my actual current weight which is 211 lbs and i physically watched him write that in lbs not kg! So upon discharge I requested all of my vitals, weight, and height and what do you know I went from being 93 kg to 97 "both times". These SOB's actually tampered with MY medical records first by to stating I was in fact given my first set of vitals at 5:05 which "ironically" ended up being 2 minutes before I even entered my assigned exam room (#2 to be precise unless of course I was hallucinating AGAIN MAY SUASIN!) and secondly by changing them entirely! This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a healthcare facility especially when I was in that type of pain a level 10 for the record in which they so graciously gave me 1 norco a little over 2 hours of being there with my 5 year old twins. Thank god for social media because I have quite the knack for social justice and lucky for you bastards it won't stop here.

Buyer Beware: Shady billing practices!…read more I went to this urgent care when I was on vacation in Illinois. They accepted my insurance, which has a $35 urgent care copay. When they submitted the claim, they submitted it, not as an urgent care visit, as advertised, but as an out of network doctor's visit. Aetna has an urgent care billing code, which this facility is aware of, and they choose not to bill as advertised, causing me a significant out of pocket expense. When I called them up, they offered to send additional documentation to Aetna, which Aetna agreed to consider when re-evaluating the claim. They never sent the documentation, instead opting to send my inflated bill to collections. I'm livid. If you want my unsolicited advice, find another facility. Run far, FAR away from this shady 'urgent care'.

The RECEPTIONIST answering the phone proceeded she would connect me to someone who would be able to give me an estimate pricing... Great! After waiting on hold for about 8 minutes, she's re-answers the phone to inform me that the other department is not responding at the moment! She then proceeded to inform me she will connect me to the "billing department" to get the answers I needed. Another 2 minutes go by, then a gentleman introduces himself.. I proceed to re-explain my current inquiry! He tells me that he has no knowledge of the service pricing I am requesting! "WOW.. okay." He then tells me he will transfer me YET AGAIN, to the "financing department" to get help with my inquiry. Another woman has now introduced herself, and I then tell her my inquiry request yet again! She does a search for me and tells me that the service I am requesting cannot be located in their system and only to find out that I was also transferred to a "Wisconsin" department. I give her the doctor's name of interest, while she tells me she will put me on another brief hold to find the direct office of said Dr. ( in Gurnee ) As she tells me she will contact them, she re-answers the phone to inform me that the service ISN'T EVEN offered by the requested doctor as google stated! So.. why didn't the receptionist just say that in the first place, rather than playing phone tag increasing my already "frantic" anxiety about finding the right Dr. SMH
