The staff at The Vista Ranch and Cellars treated us with kindness and professionalism. My entire family and my husbands' family were very impressed with the simplicity of working with The Vista team members. All of our special requests were met including bar placement, lighting placement, and allowance of the family "secret marinade" and "special dry rub" to be used for the barbequed chicken and tri-tip! The Vista is a One Stop Shop! They made planning the wedding extremely easy as we did not have to jump from vendor to vendor. They helped to facilitate communication between vendors and we greatly appreciated only having to speak to one point of contact, Sarah. Who, by the way was a pleasure to work with! Sarah's easy going pleasant demeanor was a breath of fresh air. I've been here twice both times were to bring the kids to see the ranch. I didn't go wine tasting or get to taste the pizza. When we got there it was already to late they weren't serving pizza. We loved it! it's a great place to take the kids they have a lot of kid friendly activities. Came here with a friend and tried their wine tasting during the month of October. Wasn't very impressed with the wine we tasted. Lacks aroma and the wine tasted very water down. However, it is very cheap. Cost $5 to wine taste 5 glasses. If you decide to buy a bottle (cost $10-15 a bottle), then they waive the wine tasting fee. The area is very beautiful and nicely decorated. They do serve hot foods like pizza, soups, etc. Haven't tried them, but they do smell and look tasty. Would definitely give this place another visit. read more

We found this little gem through the Harvest Host app. What a great find!! Marissa and Ancelle were so sweet. Both girls were very knowledgeable and accommodating. They provided us with great tips and info not only about the winery but also for our continuing journey. Besides the obvious wine tasting, they also offer olive oil tasting, which was quite a treat. I have been to Vista a couple of times. I found it to be a good time for kids and adults. I went when the old car show was there. They had a bounce house for the kids. My daughter loved it so much . She was so kind and helpful as this was our first winery ever! The grounds are beautiful and quaint. They host events and concerts and there's plenty of seating. $5 for tasting. This is review is for future brides who are looking for a venue. The food is delicious and the venue is beautiful!! But...Just a couple of things to consider before booking. Write down everything they say to you on your first visit because things will change as you go. Make sure to ask a lot of questions. Also email is pretty much the only way to communicate with the event coordinator unless your making a payment then you can reach her through phone. When we first arrived at the venue for a walk around we were greeted with wine tasting. However we thought it was free until my husband saw somewhere on a piece of paper that was by us that they charge for the tasting. She never mention anything so we just kindly refused and never went back for the tasting. Again don't be shy to ask questions and to say no!! However there were some good stuff...like the food! The cook was really nice when we went for our food tasting! The venue is really nice! Our guest really liked the venue. Good luck! read more

I'm going to be nice and give it 3 stars based on the quality of service and the ambiance. I'm not sure if they're only doing pizza this season (hopefully they aren't). First thing I noticed is prices had went up - $13 for what is essentially a personal pizza. Throw in salads, drinks, and tip and you have a upwards of $40 meal that will still leave you hungry afterward. The service was superb - much better than any other time I'd been here. But the stingy and expensive food are hard to forgive. If they have any of their usual themes this year, then we may go again. But we'll lay off pizza night. read more

On a company trip along the way to Yosemite and back, we stopped here for lunch and drinks (and by we, I mean 80+ of us all dined outside). Boy oh boy oh boy, the sandwiches, salads, SOUPS, pizza, fresh fruits, and drinks were all mouthwatering and satisfying. The first thing I did when we arrived was of course check Yelp for reviews and every star is on point. If you're ever on your way to Yosemite, take the time to stop by for the grub. How satisfying you say? I was completely nauseous on our way back from Yosemite (long night, curvy roads, a bumpy bus ride = my stomach was NOT happy) - but we were greeted by fresh sandwiches and fruit and my favorite: the Tri-Tip Veggie Soup that just hit every single spot and calmed my stomach down. Also, the staff were all great and were just on top of making sure every single one of us was satisfied with what we had, including helping us take away our garbage, checking in for more food, and making sure we were all well hydrated. I don't know about you but when service is stellar, it just seals the deal for me! I'm definitely coming back and trying out the wine tasting portion! read more

Attended a wedding here and was impressed by the facilities and the grounds. Very picturesque. The only bad part was an outdoor wedding in the afternoon on a hot October day. The reception was held outdoors as well and the mosquitoes got quite bad biting many of the guests. The do have a really cool pumpkin patch and corn maze near Halloween and well as a nice wine tasting room with many locals labels including their own. read more

We had an outdoor wedding in February here and it was perfect! The weather was a little cold, but the venue provided heaters and bonfires for rental, which we used and our guests loved! They took care of setting everything up, other than the decorations, which was so great to have! They also provided the catering and their food options are all delicious- salad and bread is served at the table after appetizers, which helped keep our guests from getting antsy or hungry! We had to use their wine and beer which was kind of a bummer since its quite pricey, but it is good quality and guests enjoyed it. They also had a bridal house where my girls and I got ready the day of. It has a full kitchen, bathrooms and lovely bedrooms along with a salon! All my girls LOVED it and we had a blast hanging there all day until the ceremony. My only complaint is the staff- we went through about 3 different coordinators during our 6 months of planning with them, so it became difficult at times to get answers and communication back in a timely manner. But when the day came the staff we did have did a great job, especially the catering staff, of making everything perfect and catering to our desires. The grounds are beautiful and we had a lovely, garden, natural outdoor wedding just as we'd dreamed. read more

I actually love coming to the Vista for the summer nights concert series but your food delivery system is absolutely atrocious. We invited our friends out to come check out your venue for the first time. I'm typing this as I sit here, at one of your picnic tables, 2 hours after ordering my pizza and it's still not here. After flagging down many wait staff members, I'm told that "it'll be just another 30 minutes or so". You're embarrassing yourselves, Vista. You have so much opportunity for improvement and revenue gains, but you're seriously dropping the ball with this one. Fix it. read more

We attended the Vista Mother's Day brunch this morning. The food was very good and the service left a lot to be desired. We had reservations for 10 am, the first sitting. They were not ready for guests at 10 am and it was at least 10:30 before food was served. The fact that it was a very HOT morning, made it a very uncomfortable wait. We feel that the servers were not trained sufficiently. The server for our table was a very nice young lady, but she had "no clue". She offered us beverages, and read off a list. I asked , do you have coffee? She answered "no". No, isn't that odd. Fact is they did serve coffee. I noticed someone was drinking a mimosa. She never mentioned champagne or mimosas, which they were serving from a bar in full view. Also, whenever I have been to a buffet, (and I have been to many) usually some beverages are included and you are advised of such, or also told the price of beverages you can purchase. We were not. We ordered lemonade, orange juice and chocolate milk, which we were charged for. That is fine, but you should be told that there is a charge for the beverages. The only drink that was included, oddly enough was the coffee they supposedly didn't have. I would recommend that all food stations be in the main building, (there was plenty of room) except of course for the pizza, and probably the bar. The egg station was 50 yds. away from the carving stations, which were outside of the main building that had most of the buffet. When my husband went to pay for the bill, he was entertained by the process and lack of competency. Tried to charge us for a red beer, no one had. Gave him what was supposed to be the total bill, but they forget to add the sales tax. When you added the tip, bill was still wrong because they still hadn't taken off the red beer. It took him 15 minutes to finally get the bill correct. For me to eat here again, all the planets would have to align just right because this business is not customer friendly, even though all the staff was very nice. PS Except the kid who moved the umbrella so we would have some shade while we waited for the food, and sarcasticly said if they don't like it they can move it themselves. Let's not kid ourselves, they're not making their own pizza, they're throwing a frozen pizza in microwave from Costco! It shouldn't take an hour to give someone a pizza from the microwave. A girlfriend and I stopped by after a day of shopping in Merced and were very pleasantly surprised. The tasting room has a bar and a large, round table for guests. The decor is country-esque but charming. Our server was a lovely young woman who took the time to explain the various blends we were sampling She also brought over some pistachios and crackers for us to nibble on. We took a walk around the grounds afterwards and they are lovely; fountains in the man-made lake, as well as lots of plants and flowers. I would definitely recomment this to wine lovers everywhere. read more

Honestly, It's a beautiful venue and all but only if you don't work there. If you care about your service, be considerate of the people/staff that work there because others sure don't. so patience is a virtue for you. good business but needs more management and help to make it function properly or show some interest of how staff is treated. I've never seen such rudeness. read more
