Vito's is very delicious and just down the street! Wish they kept better hours but will be back!

I really like this place and the service is great. The owners super nice. They sell sandwiches, desserts, hot food and meats. I've gotten the ground pork in the past and it tasted super fresh. Recently I've fallen for the chicken alla vodka and the chocolate chip cookies. I've gotten ice cream there during the summer too. I like that there's a place like this in the neighborhood. If you haven't tried I'd recommend visiting. I hear the Mac and cheese is pretty good too. read more

Ordered delivery. The FREE coffee spilled all over the food. Which came all squashed in bags that looked like they were opened and re-tied. Didn't really matter as the food was inedible. I must say I had the worst experience coming here! I've been a loyal customer for over eight years and it's always a sob story with the owner Vito, the credit card machine never works. The EBT machine never works !!!! just so that he can collect cash from all of his customers and beat the system !! I ordered three sandwiches from him and he refused to take my EBT card and embarrassed me in front of other customers. I told him that I only had a card and my EBT card and he told me no you need to pay for these sandwiches in cash. Not only did I tell him I only have my EBT card. He called my phone seven times demanding me to come back and pay for the sandwiches, . (he only had my number because I place the order over the phone ) My aunt came into the store recently and he embarrassed her and told her that your niece never paid for three sandwiches.(Trying to throw me under the bus as if I'm the bad guy and he's not the fraud) He embarrassed me and demanded me to pay cash when I only had my EBT card on me and a credit card. He embarrassed my wonderful aunt in front of multiple customers and mortified her!! now he has lost her as a customer forever and I will be sure to tell everyone I see when I'm around his store, not to go in there because he is a fraud and he needs to take down that EBT sign on his front door because he just wants to collect cash and beat all of his customers. Very unpleasant experience. He's an absolute disgrace he should be embarrassed about how he treated me and my family and I'm sure many other EBT customers. read more

Live near by this location and love all the hot foods they provide .... My only gripe is I love the plain yellow rice they used to have recently they started putting peas which I don't like ... I started eating at Vito's in April when Corona Virus hit Hard. I am so happy I found this place. The absolute best Deli on the Bronx. I tried their Hero's first. Truly Amazing!! The cold cuts were sliced super thin and it was so big, I was able to split it with my wife and son. The Egg plant is the Best I've ever had by far and i grew up in an Italian household. The vast hot food selection is enough to make me come for lunch daily! The Italian food is Authentic Italian and taste better than the top restaurants in the area. The best part for me is the price. Prosciutto, salami, pepperoni, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, and balsamic vinegar on a crusty, chewy roll. The three of us were so enamored of our lunch the only time we spoke was to say how good it was! Vito's has a full line of deli items (both American and Italian), lots of ready-made salads and side dishes, prepared foods to go, plenty of sandwich options, and even a meat counter, plus plenty of grocery items. Parking isn't great; all metered spots out front if you can get one. The staff was friendly and polite each time we went there. Vitos, been going there since he opened 16 years ago, always has fresh bread, home made roasts, cutlets, soup, salads, last of the old school delis in Pelham bay, home made mozzarella, and a meat dept, staff is friendly and quick, sandwiches are over stuffed, and tasty, they slice cold cuts properly, and everything moves, so stop bye, say hi to the guys and you won't be disappointed.
