    Rigatoni alla vodka

Came in excited and ordered the rigatoni alla vodka. Asked a simple question about melting the cheese into the pasta and was told it was "impossible." Not the answer itself, but the attitude felt unnecessarily dismissive. There's a better way to communicate with customers. Left disappointed with the service.

Very good food, huge portions Very good service The inside looked new and clean Walked in at 8pm and got a table right away

    Truffle pie

Otto Strada has one of my favorite ever pizzas. Their truffle pie is amazing. If you like truffle, you will really like this truffle pie. So good with tons of flavor. Also had their penna vodka and also very good. Only slight downside is service is slow and it's very difficult to get a table on a Saturday night unless you are there at opening. They don't take reservations. The food is so good it's worth any inconvenience though!

10/10 to this amazing Italian restaurant. My friends and I literally had to eat at 5 pm because we couldn't get another time later and the restaurant is pretty small, about 10-15 tables, so we were happy with what we could get. The portions were huge, our waiter helped us decide on which meals to get when we couldn't decide since everything sounded great, and his recommendations were spot on. I could literally eat the strawberry and buratta salad every day for the rest of my life and I think the pictures of the pastas speak for themselves. We considered this spot for our engagement party after only dining 1 time because the food and staff were so amazing. Love love love

    Pesto pasta, kinda dry
    Juju K.

Walk in on a Friday night around 5:30. There were no tables inside, so my friend and I opted for the green house outside. There were heaters, so we could take our coat off and felt ok, but my feet were cold the whole time, and definitely not warm and cozy temp, but bearable. The service was friendly and despite being outside, the servers checked in to make sure everything was ok at least a couple of times. The burrata crostini tasted fresh and light. Great burrata. I chose the pesto with tomato pasta but opted for spaghetti instead of spaghetti squash. The portion is huge so that at least that justifies the price. Pesto tasted good, but just not enough of it. The pasta had a dry mouth feel. It needed more olive oil and more pesto. A few cherry tomatoes didn't really add to the flavor. I wouldn't mind going back, but I won't order that dish again.

Vodka sauce with fresh mozzarella balls

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local and deemed "the best Italian place in all of New Jersey and a reason I visit Hoboken on the regular" It did not disappoint! Everything was delicious and I still think about the pesto pasta dish. The service was quick and we never had a dry glass. It is BYOB so if you would like a drink, you MUST bring it. That is the only slightly sad part about our visit, we didn't know. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone! My next trip to Hoboken, I will be back for sure!

As far as Italian restaurants go, this is the best one Hoboken has to offer. I have been over over 40/50 times, no exaggeration. Having tried nearly everything on their menu, I don't think I have ever tried something I do not like. Everything is made in house and tastes like it. The freshness of the food is unparalleled in this town. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. Having met the owner multiple times, it is so obvious how much love he puts into this place. The seating is tight, but you get past it as the inside is decorated rather nice and has great lighting. I love the outdoor area during the summer and winter. It is BYOB and there is a liquor store that deciders to the restaurant if you need more wine during your meal. HIGHLY recommend coming here - they do not take reservations though so get here early if you want to avoid a wait.

    Spaghetti (supposed to be) Oglio.

I ordered the spaghetti oglio and to start out with it wasn't spaghetti it was linguine. It was a mound of pasta close to a lb?! But dry, soo salty and there is a difference between spicy and peppery that was just peppery. No oil? My entire table said it looked like it was recycled and microwaved. This dish should be taken off the menu honestly. Bring back Cacio Pepe and replace this dish asap!! However, I will say the ravioli short rib dish, rigatoni vodka sauce and pizza was very good! So it was just a disappointment that I didn't enjoy my meal. The waiter was very nice but never came around once we received our entrees to even ask if it was ok. A different person took our plates and never said anything that my plate was barley touched, she clearly didn't care.

Rigatoni alla Vodka and orecchiette with fresh corn & burrata
    Lisa P.

This small Italian spot has many pizza and pasta options. They do make homemade pasta for some of the dishes which makes it fresh and authentic. We ordered the ricotta crostini for an appetizer which was good. For main course we ordered Orecchiette with fresh corn & burrata and Rigatoni alla vodka which were both good but wished the alla vodka had a little more sauce as it felt a little dry and a spice kick to it as it was labelled as spicy. The last time I had the rigatoni vodka here it definitely little spicier. I wish they could expand their location to be bigger as the wait gets long and they don't take reservations. Also hope they get better air conditioning as it was very hot inside on humid summer day to the point we were sweating. During the summer they do have some outside seating available. The service was attentive however we did feel rushed out even though we tried to go little earlier to beat the wait for dinner. This place is byob so feel free to bring your drink of choice! They do provide a chiller for your wine.

    Chicken milanese
    Mike H.

Small very nice Italian restaurant with a refined menu and mature clientele. The restaurant was full on a Tuesday night, granted it was the day after Christmas, so we had to sit in the semi-heated sidewalk shelter. The dishes were on the fancier side. I had chicken Milanese, which was a pan fried chicken cutlet topped with prosciutto and standard mozzarella on a giant bed of arugula and chopped tomato with a sweet balsamic glaze on the salad. The portion was enormous and it was absolutely delicious. I tried the veal tortellini and that was even more excellent. The veal tortellini was very tasty, and the cream sauce was so rich. The Nonna's polpetta pie pizza was below average. The crust was crisp, dry, and bland, and the toppings were also bland. 4.5/10 pizza, but amazing entrees.

Had a wonderful birthday here. Started with mussels, bread and Cesar salad. Everything was phenomenal. The Cesar salad had a nice spicy kick. The mussels were packed with flavor and the bread was perfect for dipping in the sauce. Ordered pasta with mozzarella balls. It was huge! Had to pack it up home. Also ordered a gelato, that the server brought over with a candle. Love it here!

Great place and decently priced. Be sure to check in before sitting down. We kind of got scolded for sitting down but we were also standing around and no one acknowledged us. Food was great. Nice and chill spot for sure.

Authentic Italian... As long as you order their homemade pasta. Please note that on the menu they have a specific section for the pasta they make by hand and the pasta they do not. I heard a table next to us saying something again to the positive taste homemade but they ordered from a section where it didn't say it was lol. What makes this place great is you can pretty much make whatever kind of dish you want when it comes to the pasta. They offer a variety of sauces as well. Surprisingly on this night, I wasn't very hungry and I ended up only getting their soup, which was also delicious. The chicken franchise was delicious, as well as the eggplant Parmesan. However, looking around at the restaurant, I can see the winner is the chicken Parmesan and the muscles. They seem to be very popular dishes. Not only is the food here great, but it is affordable. The only mention I will make as a knock against it is it gets extremely loud in there. This is not somewhere you want go for a date... Or if you intend on talking to anyone you're eating with and hearing what they have to say haha. That's only for the indoor section though. I'm sure outdoor is less intense with the sound. We will definitely be back!

The space was not large, but they really made the most of it, offering a decent number of tables with reasonable space between them. My friend and I were quickly seated and immediately greeted by a charming server that opened our bottle of wine (it's BYO) and offered us still or sparkling water. I had read in other reviews that you had to pay for water, so I was not surprised by the $6 bottle of Saratoga that wound up on our bill. In addition to our engaging server and the happening atmosphere, the food was similarly incredible. We decided to order a load of things to share, so that we could try a greater variety. We started with two appetizers that were seasonal Spring additions to the menu. The Hamachi Crudo included five thickly-sliced, tender pieces of Japanese yellowtail sitting in a broth of rhubarb aguachile and topped with white strawberries and basil seeds. It was an unique blend that we would not have expected to work, but boy was it delicious! The sweet toppings infused a load of flavor into an otherwise mild fish. We also enjoyed the Fava-mole, a creamy puree of fava beans studded with balls of hand-pulled mozzarella and pea tendrils, all drizzled with zesty ramp oil. I had not been sure what to expect from the dish, but it offered fresh, bright garden flavors. We also decided to share a pasta course and an entree. The Fettuccini was tossed with spring truffles and maitakes in a light, yet heavily aromatic, wild mushroom cream sauce. It was one of the best dishes I had had in quite some time. Then, as we were waiting on our seafood entree, we received a second pasta, courtesy of the Chef. I had mentioned that I had heard rave reviews about Flour from a server at Heirloom Kitchen, a top NJ restaurant. Apparently, our waiter had let the Chef know about that glowing praise, and the kitchen further verified that positivity with the generous gesture. In fact, they wound up sending out the Linguine with white clam sauce, razor clams, and wild ramps, the other dish about which I had been most curious anyway. Well, it was another winner! It was garlicky, herbaceous, and rich with flavors of the sea. Speaking of seafood, we next received the Branzino 'Bahn mi', a perfectly cooked piece of Mediterranean sea bass with Vietnamese sausage and pickled vegetables. The branzino's crispy skin and flaky, moist interior were excellent, and we loved all of the other smoky and briny flavors on the plate. After all of that excellent food, we would have loved to try one of their appealing desserts, but we were just too full. Between the ambiance, welcoming vibe, and delicious cuisine, our Flour experience was simply divine! It has now became one of my favorite restaurants in the area, and I cannot wait to try their pizza at some point as well.

I was a big fan of both, especially the ricotta, which was so incredibly creamy. For the mains, everyone's fresh-made pasta was excellent. I ordered the Mexican street corn, which was unique, flavorful, and delicious. I also tried some of the spicy rigatoni and loved it. We ended the night with the s'mores dessert, which was rich and chocolatey. Also, the fact that the restaurant is BYOB is a huge plus! The only downside was that I lost an item during our visit. I had a really hard time finding their contact information online, so I had to go back in person to ask about it, which was a bit annoying. Ultimately, they weren't able to recover it, but the food itself was still outstanding.
