    Eggplant Parmigiano
    Vivek D.

Discovered this place by accident walking around the area. Once I knew they made eggplant parm heroes, I immediately said I will stop by one day for lunch. I went on a walk during a not too busy weekday to get my craving. First, the eggplant parm hero is huge. I finished it, but it's a generous serving. More eggplant than cheese, but that works for me. I got my craving satisfied!

Excellent, high quality food with friendly service. Appreciate sit down options and refined atmosphere.

Definitely the best chicken parm I've ever had. It's rare to see such good people make such an impact on people just from food. All the ingredients are fresh and bursting with quality.

AMAZING!! He just opened up a place in Bayonne and it's seriously the best I've had! Eggplant parm is amazing, he makes homemade focaccia everyday which is a MUST TRY!!!

Wow. What a great deal. Kick ass soup was absolutely delicious with plenty of Italian herbs , veggies and chicken. Had the meat platter, 2 meatballs and 3 sausage in red gravy. Not sauce but real Italian Sunday gravy. Cooked up some pasta and had enough for 2 people. ( I am picky about my pasta , but will try it next time from the truck. ) Both the soup and platter came with a mini loaf of outstanding artisan bread. Made my meal!

The food truck was outside our building today. The smell was amazing so naturally we had to try! We had artichokes, sausage and peppers, chicken parm sandwich, and a cannoli. Everything was delicious. Portions were huge!! The chicken parm could have fed a family of 4! Cannoli was good, but I got the last one, and I could tell it had been sitting out in 75 degrees. Next time I'll have to get there sooner. The owner is so friendly. Really great selection.

Staff is very professional and friendly, always making sure everyone is having a good time. Honestly, all the food is great here but some of my favorites are definitely the carpaccio and calamari appetizer (the calamari is the BEST I ever had, hands down) and their coffee panacota for dessert is also out of this world, just amazing! If you are a bread lover just know they make their own bread in house. 5 stars always!

For appetizers, we got zucchini chips, fried calamari and mussels. The calamari was fried too hard and it had a very salty, spicy Chilean type sauce over it. The zucchini chips were thinly sliced, lightly battered with Parmesan cheese sprinkled over them. They were decent but nothing to write home about. In fact, after having about six or seven of the zucchini chips I began to experience heartburn from the grease. For entrees, my husband had the chicken parm. He said it was too thick and should have been flattened more before frying. It was also very breaded. My brother-in-law ordered the chicken and waffles and he said the chicken tasted day old so after having a bite of one piece of the chicken he pushed the chicken aside and called it a day. I called the waiter over and informed him about the chicken tasting day old. He didn't try to change it out or take it off the bill or get a manager. He just apologized by saying I'm sorry. My crab Mac and Cheese was decent. It wasn't seasoned the way I would have liked but the huge, plentiful chunks of crab made up for that. I ate a third of my dish and packed the rest for home where I will doctor it up to my taste. I've never been to this particular restaurant before. The only reason we came today is because my brother-in-law was here on business and staying at a hotel in the area.

This place checks every box. My guys and I kicked things off at the bar with a couple of vodka on the rocks, setting the tone before sitting down for what turned out to be some of the best food I have had in Jersey City. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the history. Tucked away on a quiet side street with barely any foot traffic, yet still thriving. That tells you everything you need to know. They are doing it right. I will not run down every dish because honestly it does not matter. Everything that hit the table was on point. Do yourself a favor and trust the wait staff. We had 6 of us. Every single thing everyone ordered looked incredible. (I mean, I don't really care for muscles, but I could absolutely see the love cooked into even that dish.) "You won't want to cook anymore" he tells us a bit later. He's not wrong. I had the fish special, cod, served puttanesca, with mash potatoes and spinach. He had the rigatoni bolognese. Perfectly cooked pasta. "Everything is homemade," Angelo explained later. Smart and fairly well-priced wine list. We asked why the 2020 Carparzo Brunello di Montalcino was so low priced, and learned the wine has been priced the same since their father closed their Upper East Side location and the kids opened in Newark. "New York food at NJ prices," Angelo explained. "I've never had tiramisu I've liked better", husband told me. "I've never had flan Ive liked better" I told him. (It is coconut flan.) Great service. Wonderful spot. And Bon Jovi has been in twice, most recently he brought his wife. Enough said.

Paired with the honey and peppercorn were *chefs kiss*. Just a perfect shareable app. The mortadella was also good but smaller than I anticipated. I'd maybe pass on this next time. Honestly this would have paired perfectly with the toast but it was brought out after the toast was finished. We ordered two pastas: the rigatoni and the malfadine. Both were great and cooked perfectly. The quality of ingredients were a standout in both of the dishes. Pork pampanella was the most tender pork I've ever had. Basically melted in your mouth. Very fatty and heavy (a little too heavy...) but delicious. 4.5/5 overall. Some of the dishes were missing a little something to take it all the way but I'd still recommend this spot tho. This was creamy, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The now classic honey ricotta toast never disappoints ($14). They currently have my favorite, the Malfaldine with speck, grana padano, and black pepper ($22) - Get this. They no longer have the baccala and potato skin with chive ravioli. This was a fun play on potato skins. Some of the pasta had the baccala while others had the potato mascarpone. Although entertaining, it was less memorable than the other dishes. The smoked paprika pork shoulder was a dish that could feed 4. It's a massive cut of meat. While I did enjoy this, I needed more of polenta or a sauce. As anticipated it was very meat forward ;) For dessert I highly recommend their classic olive oil cake. This was moist and had a small Tablespoon of a guava sauce. For $10 don't miss this. The salted chocolate cake was a bit dry, but satisfied the sweet tooth. This went well with a double espresso. We stayed until closing and in fact were seated 15 mins past closing. Our waiter was kind and charming. He gave us his recommendations. Despite the menu being small and rotational, it always feels like there is something new and exciting to try. The Rutabaga and leek was that for me this time. I assume this is a winter dish. I recommend trying this before they move to a Soring menu and I wouldn't miss it!
