My husband and I live nearby, so we've been buying meals from this store almost every day for the past six months. The food is made with top-quality olive oil, excellent cheese, and fresh ingredients. Everything is seasoned with just the right amount of spices and herbs. The food is never too salty, and every dish is exceptionally delicious, so we never get tired of eating it, even if we eat here almost every day. For a long time, we had avoided food from restaurants and takeout places because many of them use poor-quality oils and rely on excessive salt and sugar. I used to cook at home for our health, but now we can enjoy this store's reasonably priced food without worry. Our recent favorite is the Chicken Cutlet Sandwich, with fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, capers, and arugula, drizzled with high-quality balsamic vinegar. It tastes so fresh, with its bright flavors -- the perfect sandwich for summer. The focaccia, olive bread, and the occasional porchetta pizza (their pizzas are phenomenal!) have amazing crumb and crust, that are tastier than any baked goods at another pizzeria or bakery. The lasagna is light as a cloud (it surprises me every time with its lightness) with a deep flavor and a refreshing aftertaste. The other pasta dishes, such as the farfalle with broccoli rabe and garlic, tortellini with homemade ricotta, and baked ziti, are all delicious and highly recommended. They're exquisite and won't leave you feeling heavy. The jarred olives, Roman artichokes, marinated mushrooms, marinated eggplant, and caponata in the refrigerated section have a refreshing flavor that lets you savor the umami of the vegetables. They're utterly addictive. Their cannoli are also an absolute must-try! The ricotta filling is so fresh, tasty, and just the right amount of sweetness. After trying it, we won't want to eat desserts from other places anymore. It's truly the ideal Mediterranean diet. Since we started eating dishes from this restaurant--made with top-quality olive oil and fresh, additive-free ingredients--my husband and I have both lost five to six pounds and seen our cholesterol levels drop over the past six months, even though we still regularly enjoy their focaccia, pasta, porchetta, and sausage dishes. Visiting family in JC. What's interesting is my wife is from JC in fact she graduated from DICKINSON High! So we are doing our 20000 steps down by GROVE street. The Plenty of good places to eat at and in fact have eaten at many of them. Was walking back and we spotted this place. The windows were CLEAN and Sparkling we walked in the place is shining. I believe the owner served us. The service was very accommodating. I had the classic sausage Italian sandwich. My wife had the meatballs served in a dish with the FRESH bread served on the side. The bread was excellent. The sandwich prices are in $15 dollar range. They are Vegan Friendly. They have some nice eggplant products fore sale. Discovered this place by accident walking around the area. Once I knew they made eggplant parm heroes, I immediately said I will stop by one day for lunch. I went on a walk during a not too busy weekday to get my craving. First, the eggplant parm hero is huge. I finished it, but it's a generous serving. More eggplant than cheese, but that works for me. Wow. What a great deal. Kick ass soup was absolutely delicious with plenty of Italian herbs , veggies and chicken. Had the meat platter, 2 meatballs and 3 sausage in red gravy. Not sauce but real Italian Sunday gravy. Cooked up some pasta and had enough for 2 people. The food truck was outside our building today. The smell was amazing so naturally we had to try! We had artichokes, sausage and peppers, chicken parm sandwich, and a cannoli. Everything was delicious. Portions were huge!! The chicken parm could have fed a family of 4! Cannoli was good, but I got the last one, and I could tell it had been sitting out in 75 degrees. The sauce was delicious and the serving size was large enough that i saved some sauce for pasta the next day and had some caprese left as well. One and done for me. Had the chicken parm sandwich with "fresh mozz". The bread was too soft which by the time I opened it to eat it was a soggy mess. Chicken was rubbery and the "mozz" was shredded pOlly O that melted after puttin it on. I was expecting fresh slices of mozz on top of the chicken. No gloves, handles money and the website says $5 for first time. I def made a point it was my first time and got charged full price.
