Best* Chicago Style pizza in the Phoenix/Glendale area. There are others that are also excellent, but each of those cost considerably more and aren't materially better. While I love the fresh herbs that are included in (for example) Oregano's pizza, Vito's is essentially indistinguishable and is less expensive. If you add basil to both that essentially modifier disappears - I really couldn't tell them which was which (and that's the gold standard for Chicago pizza in Phoenix for me). There is a slight difference though: the crusts are similar but not identical (both excellent), and Vito's comes with more sauce (that's a good thing), which is an especially good sauce - you cannot, however, order your pizza with extra sauce (not very important as it already has more sauce, but something to be aware of). Vito's garlic is fresh as opposed to Oregano's (which is roasted). I prefer the fresh garlic by a large margin, so in this instance Vito's is better. Sausage from both are excellent - good pizza places always make their own sausage (or get it from a local butcher) so I use this as a metric of restaurant quality. The only demerits: Vito's doesn't have the more obscure toppings - things like carmelized onions, Kalamata olives, artichokes, or goat cheeses. They do have anchovies (I hate anchovies but it is a critical ingredient for many). The DoorDash implementation is also terrible, so while you can indeed order everything it can be difficult to do so. For example if you try to order a pan pizza (That's Chicago style) you need to choose from one of 4 sizes (Individual, Small, Medium, Large) aside from choosing toppings. The way the app was configured, on the other hand, is so absurd that you're unlikely to know what to expect. For the "Individual" size instead of there being a single option ("Individual") you have to choose from 13 different entries, each one of which is labeled [10" individual] and which range in price from $15.60 to $22.80, and I need to re-emphasize that from the labels each of these have the exact same description. The topping selection section is nearly as bad. If this sounds absurd then you clearly understand what I'm describing. P.S. you should still go, they're now my reliable

I can't believe that after visiting Vito's and moving away from Phoenix, I still crave their deep dish. Thick, saucy and cheesy their deep dish is amazing! A little hole in the wall off of Northern, Vito's is worth the drive if you are anywhere in the Valley. Call ahead for to go, pop in the oven to keep it piping hot and you're set for a deep dish treat.

Best deep dish pizza hands down in AZ!!! The onwer Nick is a great guy from Chicago so you know its authentic. Obviously the deep dish is what you should try but he does offer thin crust as well. The wings are great and the mozzeralle sticks have a good taste to them. And the fact that you can B.Y.O.B. is awesome!! Definitely check this place out!!!

So I'm not really sure how to rate Vito's for various reasons. First, the girl who answered the phone and took my order was extremely pleasant. Ordering was a breeze and we were told it'd probably take about 45 minutes for one medium deep dish with pepperoni and sausage, 10 mild wings, two extra ranch. Order was ready as promised and the pizza was still warm the short drive home. Now it's been about 20 years since I've had Chicago style pizza and I wasn't a fan then, but tastes change. A medium easily feed my family of three with substantial leftovers. Sauce was flavorful but reminded me of spaghetti sauce and there was lots of it. Pepperoni and sausage in every bite, good amount of cheese which seemed like good quality. Wings pretty good sized with a decent mild sauce. Nothing special here, just an average chicken wing you can get at any local pizza joint. If, a big if I was a fan of Chicago style (which I'm still not, New York style all the way for me) my review would be 5 stars. Vito's was a great take-out experience for us. Good pizza and wings just not our style. If I ordered again I'd probably ask for easy sauce or try the thin crust. It is a little on the pricey side but the medium easily could have fed 5 people with average appetites, maybe even 6. We all only ate 1 slice each. Give this local joint a try. If you like deep dish Chicago style you will love it! If eating in it's BYOB!

Hands down THE BEST Chicago Deep Dish West of Chicago (and I was born there.. raised in the Midwest and moved to Phoenix a little over a year ago). Their pizza has NEVER disappointed me each and every time I order after a long stressful day and I want to treat myself to a great pie and a Netflix marathon

Good thin crust pizza not greasy. Very fast delivery but 2 topping, large, thin crust, delivered, $22.58. Maybe a bit high$ for 3 people.

Lil Capo Pizzeria 5.0/5 The Closest Thing to New York…read morePizza I've Found in Arizona Growing up in Upstate New York, I admittedly have high standards when it comes to pizza. After moving to Arizona in 2007, I've spent years searching for a slice that genuinely reminds me of home. While there are plenty of decent pizza spots throughout the Valley, very few capture that authentic New York style. Lil Capo Pizzeria absolutely does! Ironically, I first discovered Lil Capo after an Arizona Cardinals game. Like many people, I wasn't interested in paying stadium prices for mediocre food, so I jumped on Yelp looking for something nearby. Lil Capo had outstanding reviews, so we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did because it's now my benchmark for New York-style pizza in Arizona. The first thing that stood out was the crust. This is exactly what a New York slice should be--thin, crispy on the bottom, slightly chewy inside, sturdy enough to fold, and never overloaded with grease. So many places think "New York style" simply means making a large slice. Lil Capo understands it's really about the balance of crust, sauce, cheese, and texture. Every bite reminded me why I miss pizza back east. The sauce has just the right amount of sweetness and acidity, the cheese is perfectly proportioned, and everything tastes fresh without trying to reinvent what already works. Sometimes simplicity executed well is the hardest thing to accomplish. Pizza: 5/5 Service was equally impressive. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and efficient. After selecting our slices, they quickly reheated them to perfection and had them on our table within minutes. It's exactly what you want from a neighborhood pizzeria--fast, relaxed, and genuinely hospitable. Service: 5/5 I also appreciated the atmosphere. Lil Capo isn't trying to be flashy or trendy. Instead, it has that classic neighborhood pizzeria feel where the focus stays exactly where it should--on making outstanding pizza. It's casual, comfortable, family-friendly, and somewhere you could easily become a regular. The pricing is another pleasant surprise. Considering the quality of the pizza and the generous slice sizes, I found everything to be very fairly priced. Overall Finding authentic New York-style pizza in Arizona has been surprisingly difficult over the years, but Lil Capo delivers exactly what I've been searching for. Authentic New York-style crust Excellent sauce-to-cheese ratio Minimal grease Friendly, efficient service Fair prices Comfortable neighborhood atmosphere I've eaten pizza throughout New York my entire life, and Lil Capo remains the closest I've found to the real thing anywhere in Arizona. Whenever I'm on the west side of the Valley--or heading to or from a Cardinals game--I find myself looking for an excuse to stop in. Next time, I'm skipping the slices and ordering an entire pie. If you're a fellow New Yorker living in Arizona and craving a slice that tastes like home, Lil Capo should be at the top of your list.

World-class pizza in AZ!…read more I have traveled the world and had many Pizzas, and this is hands-down one of the best pizza places I've ever experienced. Tucked away in the Westgate Mall, it's a compact, modern little spot that likely gets buzzing during the lunch hour. The service is excellent--you just order at the counter and they bring the pizza out to you. If you're in the area, do not pass this up. We'll absolutely be returning on our next trip to Arizona!
