Honestly 4/5 stars doesn't do this place justice. I've been coming to this place since I was a kid. I think there use to be a cow town skateboard shop in the parking lot if memory serves me right. Quality or food is always great and consistent. This restaurant is always considered when we have family dinners because of the large seating area. Tons of games on the TVs all over the place for Sundays. It's a Bills bar for the most part but the fans are always welcoming. Pickup order last Saturday night. The bosses/owners apparently were off that evening. Ordered wings and lasagna. The wings must have been cooked a few hours before because we had to chip the meat off with a knife. Dry, cooked forever, tough. Of course the kitchen saw a good way to dump nasty wings - pickup orders are not likely to drive back, right? Person we spoke with berated us for not ordering correctly. Really? Consistently great pizza. Amazing dough, great sauce/cheese ratio. Never too crispy or bland. One of the few pizza places where I enjoy eating the crust. Alright , After asking 4 days ago for the owner to give me a call back , and him/her not doing so , am I forced to leave a negative review about the experience/behavior at this establishment , and lack of concern for their customers. Saturday May 16th we came in to dine at this establishment . [[HIGHLIGHT]]We spent a decent amount of money , and shortly after ordering we were subjected to the foul heavy odor of pot smoke , which appeared to be coming from a party that was there celebrating an event .[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not only was it offensive , but when I spoke to our server about it she rolled her eyes and stated " I know , I'm getting a contact high from it " . It was so strong I saw others going outside for awhile for fresh air , and then coming back in . I myself did the same. I called Sunday morning ( twice) once with I believe her name was Dalilah and the other Debbie ( I believe) one of them informed me that I wasn't the first to call and complain about this , and the other stated that the bar manager was the owners sister ( As if perhaps suggesting that SHE perhaps might of allowed it , or okays this behavior ) Either way I asked both girls to please have the owner call me. Well Sunday passed , Monday Passed , Tuesday Passed , and then today Wednesday afternoon had passed , and no call whatsoever. So I call them . Spoke to the owners sister " Sherry " . I explain what happened , explained how rude it was to IGNORE a customers call back request , and informed her that I wasn't asking for my money back , nor was I looking for a gift certificate ( Which was good because she never offered anything anyways ) [[HIGHLIGHT]]So Sherry went on to say that they have a regular customer that smokes weed and that she comes in smelling , reeking of weed and that they don't/can't/won't throw anyone out for smelling like weed......( So if someone came in smelling like urine/fecal matter , what then ? )[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] ........[[HIGHLIGHT]]Anyways , even though "Sherry " stated she wasn't there herself , she blamed it on a customers PERSONAL SMELL , and ignored/bypassed the fact that IT WAS BEING SMOKED INSIDE THEIR RESTAURANT , and was affecting many customers , not just myself.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Her quote.........." Look, when I order ravioli, I'm not expecting, I'm not looking for "homemade" ravioli -- I know what that is, I know what this is. But what I got was a plate of heated frozen ravioli, tasteless, smothered in canned Alfredo, and it was awful. Actually, it WAS awful. First I was being facetious, now I'm not. It was awful. Was it "inedible" awful? No. Was it worth the money? I can't find it on the $$ on the menu, but $15/16?? No. The Wi-Fi Lots of food but It was awful. Can you believe I've been in the valley over 20 years, driven by a hundred times and never stopped until today? Me either! Talking as a family today we decided we'd like to try a new pizza spot for an early dinner. Pullano's came up and we said heck yes and headed over. The location was easy to get to and though the parking lot was pretty busy it was easy to find a spot nearby. We were a bit confused at first because there were multiple entrances so we walked in the front facing Thunderbird Rd. We quickly realized we were on the bar side, but after an easy walk through an opening we landed on the family side (facing 51st Ave). The door facing 51st walks you right into the hostess who can seat you or you can pick up a to go order. We were greeted right away and walked over to an open table. For 4pm it was really busy. That's a great sign to us. After looking things up on the way we decided quickly on antipasto salad and the xl pizza with 20 wings special. We also ordered a few fountain drinks and beer from the tap. Our server was great and we never had to ask for a thing. The salad and wings came out first and both looked and tasted great. I did get the Italian dressing, but ended up using ranch instead because all I could taste for the insane amount of olive oil. The salad was delicious. The lettuce was fresh and crispy, full of meat and yummy peppers on the side. The wings were fried and decent size. They were moist and not over done or dry. We ordered them hot, but they could've been a bit hotter for us. Well just increase the heat next time. The pizza came out last and oh man did it look amazing! Piping hot and great amount of toppings and cheese. The sausage had great flavor and my kids loved all the pepperoni. The pizza wasn't too thin, a little more doughy than our usual spot. When with the bit more dough the bottom crust was crisped perfectly and the pizza did not sag too much when picked up. The sauce had great flavor as well. If you're wondering about portions they are good size. We still left with a few slices and a little salad left over. Great for a second meal if I share (wink wink). The vibe was great and what you'd expect an older mom and pop pizza spot would be. The bar area was large and included music and pool tables as well. All in all a wonderful experience. My wife and I were doing an Uber Eats pickup from here last evening. The pizza smelled great so after we were done, we called in an order for a Pullano's Special and some Zoo-Kee-Knee and picked it up on the way home. Delicious! We've lived about a mile and a half from this place for 7 1/2 years and I never knew it was there. Yes, I'm terribly observant. Well, it's our go to place now. Good prices, great pizza and I'm looking forward to trying the calzones and stromboli. They have been in business since my family moved to Phoenix so they know what they are doing. As an incognito regular Joe and NOT an undercover police officer, blending into everyday situations is crucial. So, when I was assigned, I mean hungry, to review Pullanos Pizza, I saw it as an opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal while maintaining my covert identity. Little did I know that my mission would take an unexpected turn, as my delicious experience repeatedly threatened to blow my cover, I mean embarrass me. Stepping into Pullanos, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The dim lighting and cozy hightop tables set the stage for an intimate dining experience. I couldn't help but feel like I was walking into a safe house, where secrets were exchanged over plates of mouthwatering Pizza Pie. As I perused the menu, my eyes caught a glimpse of the "Baked Cheese Ravioli." It was a tempting assortment of things baked, things cheesy, and things resembling raviolis. " I wonder what they're hiding in there", I thought. Trying to play it cool, I ordered the platter, only to accidentally blurt out, "Do you know why I pulled you over tonight?... I mean, I'll take the Ravioli Platter, Citizen." The server gave me a puzzled look, prompting me to awkwardly explain that I was referring to the dish as if it were a traffic stop. It's a genetic tick, passed along from my parents and my parents' parents. That was a close one. Turns out there was no illegal substances, only cheese, in the ravioli. I think I still have some melted in my mustache as we speak. For the main course, I opted for a mysterious delight that they called "Spaghetti." Obviously code for something else. However, when the server asked how I wanted my pasta cooked, I almost slipped up by saying, "Al dente, just like how we interrogate suspects... I mean, how I like it." The server's confused expression forced me to backtrack and mumble something about me being tired after a long day of being a civilian. The pasta came out steamy. The rich aroma of the tomato sauce filled the air, triggering my senses like a hidden contraband stash. But, of course, my covert alter ego had to make an appearance again, and I found myself yelling out, "This Spaghetti is a real crime scene... I mean, it's a crime how delicious it is!" No operation is complete without indulging in a sweet treat. I selected the "Mini Pullookie" from the dessert menu, hoping to end the evening on a high note. But I was too full to eat it. So I took it home and checked it into the evidence locker, AKA, the fridge. Despite my unintentional language blunders, the staff at Pullanos Pizza remained professional and accommodating. They were patient with my fumbled attempts to blend in as the obvious average citizen that I am, treating me with a mix of confusion and understanding, followed by more confusion. Their friendly demeanor made me feel like part of the family, a fraternity if you will, even if I couldn't quite master the art of being a civilian. If you're looking for a restaurant where you can enjoy authentic Italian cuisine and not a place where money is being laundered, Pullanos is the place to be. Went tonight for some pizza & wings and apparently that was too much to ask for. Waited and waited for my plain cheese pizza and wings and never received it a little over an hour after I arrived. My father had already finished his dinner, except his fries which didn't arrive until right after I mentioned it to our server Patricia, then they were ready all of a sudden! Sounds like maybe I had a server issue! Then I got some excuse of the oven being down for a bit, except everyone around me was getting pizza and wings at their table just fine, except for me. The table next to me, sat well after me, got their wings from their waitress nice and quick! I asked to speak to a manager twice, which I never did get to speak to one, at least I don't think so. Looked like just another server came to my table to talk. Cancelled my order. They comped my cocktail but ya know I'd rather eat than get a free drink and be told "sorry, wish there was something we could do!" How about don't forget my order and make sure the food is served? Pizza places are a dime a dozen in any city. Finding a diamond in the rough is rare! Pullano's Pizza though is firing on all cylinders! I am writing this after my first ever visit here so I have not tried their "world famous" wings but I did go in on Wednesday to take advantage of their $5.99 large take out special. I did add pepperoni which brought up the cost $2.19 plus tax; $9.09 out the door. When I arrived, the parking lot was PACKED and so was inside. My order was not ready when I arrived but I got there 5 minutes early. The front counter lady was very helpful plus kind. As I waited, people came in stating the phones were busy and asked if they could place a take out order at the counter. This place is popping! My pizza was ready (exactly on time) and I left. When I got home, I dove into this culinary delight! NO EXAGGERATION! There was flop and the cheese pull was the stuff cheesy dreams are made of! Flavorful to say the least. You can taste the sauce and the pepperonis gave it an extra kick. I finished half that pizza in one sitting and threw it in the fridge for the next day. I normally use my air fryer or oven to reheat Za but this time I microwaved it. Here's the thing, the next day, this pizza tasted better. I didn't think that was a thing but it happened and I stand by my 5 star rating! Will be returning to try these "world famous" wings. Considering their tasty pizza, something tells me they ain't lying! I also noticed the carry Beef on Weck! A Buffalo staple and hard to find good Beef on Weck on this coast. We drove across Phoenix to try this place in our never-ending search of good Buffalo pizza here in AZ. We were happy to see wings and Beef on Weck on the menu as well, so we ordered the holy Buffalo trinity of pizza, wings, and weck. The roast beef sandwich arrived first and it was just okay. The beef wasn't thin sliced but was more of a chopped consistency. The 'weck' roll was kind of flimsy, greasy. and so thin on the bottom that any au jus that was there soaked through rendering the sandwich inedible without a knife and fork. The ultimate insult was that the so-called horseradish that came with the sandwich wasn't horseradish at all, but more of an Arby's horsey sauce in a little plastic cup. The pizza and wings came out together and, while the pizza was very good, it wasn't Buffalo style at all...more of a flat, crispy crust with wider pepperoni slices instead if the "char-cup" that we were craving. The wings were perfect and are probably the main reason we'll be back there.... also the reason I'm giving four stars instead of a lower rating due to the weck disappointment The server was friendly and attentive. One star because the server was great. I gave a particular order for how I wanted our pizza cooked. Having gone here for almost 40 years, I know what it should be. We got an extra large pizza, 40 wings, drinks, and a Caesar salad. The salad had so much dressing it was wadded in a ball. The wings were done well as requested but very tiny. The pizza was an epic failure. It was like a frozen pizza with toppings slapped on it and microwaved. The crust used to be crispy and oily and delicious just like in Buffalo. This crust was spongy and dry and weird. I asked for thin crust, well done, light sauces, pepperoni and sausage. It was not served on a metal pan like an oven-cooked pizza, it was on some silicone pan like you'd put in a microwave or an air-fryer. I had my sister bring my parents to celebrate my Dad's 91st birthday. Never again will we make the trek to Pullanos. I have no idea what changed here but for $123.78 before tip for 6 people, there are other places to go. Sadly, Dominos makes a better pizza. read more
