I am a Sight MD patient, but my primary doctor is in Plainview, NY. He is outstanding and the…read moresmartest doctor I have ever met in my life. After my annual visit with him, I mentioned that I wanted to ensure the floaters I had recently experienced were not a significant issue. He recommended I see a doctor at Sight MD in Garden City. The best appointment I could get was a month away, which was not a problem for me. However, on the day of my appointment, I received a call asking me to come earlier, which I did. When I arrived, I was under the impression that I would be seen immediately. Instead, I waited about half an hour before entering the examining rooms. The process involved dilation and a review to discuss the purpose of my visit, followed by another fifteen-minute wait. Then, I underwent an eye exam with a machine, waited again, and was brought into a different room for a vision test. This sequence was confusing to me. If they were part of the same organization, I assumed they would have seen that I had already had a comprehensive exam thirty days ago. But on the other hand, that could be the routine for every visit. After that, I spent an hour waiting in the exam room for the doctor. When the doctor finally arrived, they examined my retina on both eyes and stated I was fine. That took about five minutes. To clarify, this review is not about the doctor's competence, my experience was very brief, so I cannot really comment on their skill. Overall, this office operates more like a factory, with patients as conveyor belt items moving through a system. I will not return to this office again. I am fortunate to have a trusted doctor within the organization who is not part of this office and who provides the quality care I need.

So .. when I experienced some blurring and discomfort in one eye ... and the practice I used to go to had been bought up by a major health network with sophisticated customer avoidance technology -- naturally I went back to SightMD. Well ... an hour to be seen ... in total two hours for the visit, of which perhaps 10 minutes was with the Physician, who prescribed Sodium Chloride OINTMENT when the same medication, same dose, is available OTC as eye DROPS. That speaks volumes about the priority being placed on customer comfort ... If I was considering another surgery I would ABSOLUTELY see SightMD again ... but for routine screening -- I'd go back to one of the opticians who keep an ophthalmologist or two on staff.

I was referred here by my optometrist. Making an appointment was easy enough via phone call. When I…read morearrived to my appointment, on time, I was greeted with a poorly printed and low on ink sign in sheet. I filled it out then handed it back to the receptionist and proceeded to wait for my appointment. After 40 min of waiting, I asked if I was going to be seen soon and was told someone would call my name. I sat back down for another 15 minutes. Annoyed, I went to a different person (presumably the manager/shift lead) and inquired about what is going on. She scrambled to find my check in, and just to realize it was lost in the mix. They called me in immediately after that. I was seen by a young male doctor who was nice enough. Appointment went smoothly but whatever was going on at the front desk needs to be addressed. Likely never to return to such an unprofessional and disorganized environment.

Very disappointed with OCLI Vision in Garden City…read more My wife was handed multiple forms to sign before her appointment, but nobody clearly explained that certain tests might not be covered by insurance. We have both medical and vision insurance and were surprised to receive a bill afterward. Getting answers was nearly impossible. Calls went unanswered, emails were ignored, and it took almost 10 days plus an in-person visit before we finally received a response. The office manager, Kristy DiSipio, simply emailed us the signed paperwork and stated that we were responsible for the bill without providing any meaningful explanation. She also left a note for the billing department, and when I called, it was clear nobody was interested in reviewing the situation or helping resolve it. We ultimately paid the bill, but the lack of transparency, poor communication, and dismissive customer service were unacceptable. Patients place their trust in medical providers and deserve honesty, transparency, and clear communication. A professional office should clearly explain any charges that may not be covered by insurance before services are performed, not leave patients with unexpected bills and little explanation afterward.
