Our family of 6 had dinner at Vitoria tonight . . awful to say the least and on many levels. We ordered one appetizer to share with the group and asked to switch out one ingredient (octopus) for bread. Waiter said okay. My husband and I ordered beefsteak with coffee sauce (we had ordered this dish at another restaurant on an earlier day and it was delicious.) What arrived was the thinnest, driest piece of meat and pepper sauce. Two others in the group ordered Paella, again, what arrived was 3 tiny pieces of chicken and no flavor veggie/rice side. We didn't complain, chalking it up to stuff happens . . .
But then the bill came . . . ugh, the restaurant tried to add all sorts of additional sides to the bill after we specifically said we only wanted one appetizer to share. Complained to the waiter, didn't get anywhere, asked to speak to the owner/manager and finally the bill was adjusted . . . a $50 reduction! Talked with a group visiting Lisbon at the next table and they were also disappointed at the food and service. Bummer, we love visiting Lisbon sites but a restaurant like this that tries to take advantage of tourists really leaves a bad taste in your mouth. And there was no translation issue . . . we all speak and read Portuguese! Avoid Restaurante Vitoria, lots of other great places to eat. . . . . read more
