The front desk receptionist and medical assistant (I forgot her name) were cool, but the PA (Paris Davis) was not. She essentially called my hair "dirty" because I don't always wash it as often as she'd recommend, and told me to "Google it" when I asked for details about a type of shampoo she was recommending. It was super odd, especially coming from a Black woman; she should know the problematic nature of insinuating that another Black woman is "dirty" for not washing her hair weekly. There are much kinder ways to explain things when you're trying to be helpful rather than egocentric. Overall, Paris's tone was condescending and I felt like she was annoyed by my clarifying questions. I am not interested in seeing any provider who can't treat patients with empathy, kindness, and curiosity; I got none of that from her. The medical assistant was much kinder and provided me with some recommendations for the shampoo I was asking about. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're considering going to see Paris, and I certainly am not going back. What a disappointment.

Initially upon arrival, I was provided a questionnaire which was lengthy and a bit duplicative to the forms they electronically provide prior to your visit which was a smidge annoying. After perusing the forms, EVERYTHING is on the patient to verify, confirm, pay, etc. This may be where healthcare is headed in general but when you become a de facto employee of the office by calling the insurance co, confirming percentages paid, calling the primary care provider, calling the pharmacist, etc., it becomes almost a burden in addition to your out of pocket expense. Moreover, the ultimate nail in the coffin for me was the staff and the inept virtual pharmacy they used for my script which didn't have goodRx reciprocity and was utterly unresponsive. I was encouraged to continue to try and reach them after advising that I had attempted contacted on multiple occasions without success. The office advised that I try them again until I called them after another unsuccessful attempt and advised that it was a huge inconvenience for me to chase down their contact and I needed the script to be filled by a different pharmacy (which should've been intuitive for the office receptionist). When the assistant in the exam room indicated that our session was over, I thought she would direct me out. When I asked, "am I following you?" she abruptly responded, "no." This was my first time there so I didn't know if there was a convenient or alternate exit from the exam rooms. It's just a no for me; I didn't enjoy my initial encounter. I have a follow up that I didn't and won't schedule.
