    Simple little place...
    Stephen E.

Coming from the West Coast and being stationed in North Carolina before I was a little hesitant to get excited about this place. I was wrong. While it's definitely not the best Mexican fast food I've ever had, it was really good actually, and I'm pretty sure I can work with them!! Lol If you're looking for something authentic and quick this is definitely your best bet around here, or you can go to Taco Bell HAHAHA... but seriously if you communicate with them and tweak it a bit it's really good.... I truly think the lack of spice etc... is due to the amount of older Caucasian and Northern folks in the area. (I am a white guy from Las Vegas BTW) They are definitely playing to their primary customers; but definitely don't be afraid to ask them to amp it up a little bit and you should be just fine!

This is our go to spot as a local. Anytime we are hungry we stop by. Clean, great food every time, great ladies that take pride in their food. Best Mexican on the OBX hands down.

One of the few places open for dinner in January. If we hadn't visited on our last night we would've definitely been back again before the week was up. The two ladies seemed to have a lot of pride in their food! Chipotle chicken flavor was AMAZING and the food was cooked to order, fresh and Hot! The only reason I gave it a four and not a five was because with only one other group in restaurant it was very loud, and thus a TV or music or some type of a background noise would have made it more pleasurable.

Best Mexican restaurant in OBX. The food is fresh and the service is friendly and fast. They have a special with three ground beef tacos & a drink for $5.99. Huge chicken burritos & delicious chips with queso. They also have made to order hot churros for dessert.

My boyfriend & I ordered the fish burrito and added all the veggies and it was so good I went inside myself. Overall experience was sexual. My tongue was constantly in a pure state of nirvana. 12 stars.

simple chicken nachos, I only get the tasty, seasoned and cooked perfectly chicken with black beans and queso!

The best and freshest quick Mexican spot! Definitely one of my favs. Restaurant is always clean. A must try when in Nags Head .

Great spot, been going here for years and years. Try the steak tacos and the regular ground beef tacos. They are the best!

The food is so good and fresh every time. Not your traditional Mexican restaurant, but worth every penny. We love it!

Long wait for takeout; mediocre, cold food. Yelp would like me to add more, but there's not much else to say.

Reminded me of cafeteria food. I could've made better at home but the straw that broke the camels back is it made my daughter sick.

I've been here with a party of 12 before, and we definitely waited a while, but I was impressed that they were able to accommodate a group that size. This time, I was with a party of two and we were seated pretty quickly. My one complaint about the wait system is that they announce when your table is ready, but if you're out of earshot, you'll miss it. It would be nice if they used a text, call, or buzzer system so you could walk down to the beach while you wait. Part of the pier seating is covered, but the farther you go out, the more exposed you are. We were seated near the end, so it was hot in the direct sun and very windy. But that comes with the territory, and the views make it worth it. There are also plenty of birds hoping you'll share your fries with them, which is both expected and pretty funny. We each ordered a Pain Killer. It was good at first, but it quickly became watered down, and I didn't think it was worth $10. We also got the nachos, but the price adds up quickly once you start adding toppings. Most of the menu is very à la carte. The prices seem reasonable at first, but sides and toppings can add up fast. The burgers don't come with fries, for example. We both got the West Coast Burger. It was good, but nothing particularly memorable. Service was attentive and generally friendly. Overall, Fish Heads is one of the better dining options in the area. The pier setting and views really make the experience unique. I enjoy coming here and will likely be back.
