This was a good spot to try on day 1 at the Outer Banks. We were lucky to have Katelin as our waitress. She's very sweet and helpful. She even gave me some hushpuppies as a birthday treat (since I don't like cheesecake). We both had different versions of a burger. Unfortunately, we were a little famished, and when I remembered I forgot to take a picture, it was half gone and a lot messy. It was DELICIOUS though!! The time of day we went by, the restaurant was not busy. I would return if in the area.

Food was good, nothing extraordinary. Service was subpar. Server didn't ask how our meal was or refill our drinks once our meal came. Wouldn't go back.

I sat at the bar tonight for my first visit here and it was amazing! Great food & the bar tender was very friendly. Even when she started getting busy, she didn't forget about me. The atmosphere was a little busy but it was 6pm. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Our dinners, crab cakes and sea scallops

Our server was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We had the calamari starter, fresh with a crispy crust. Sea scallops were delicious, cooked to perfection. My husband's crab cakes were also very delicious, fresh and well cooked. A bit noisy but great if you're vacationing and having fun

Mulligans has good food and service, and they are extremely dog friendly. Today we had the crab bisque and it was dynamite. Also Local raw oysters had lots of flavor. Broiled seafood platter was cooked perfectly. Delicious Cobb Salad. Shrimp and fish tacos were overcooked. Buffalo shrimp was cooked perfect and our favorite. Last year the shrimp and grits were our favorite. It was pretty busy, but the service was really good. Super friendly.

Dog friendly balcony, decent food, good views, fun vibes. There's a dog park right across the parking lot. Cute little spot in OBX

I ordered a salad with blackened chicken. It was good. The popcorn chicken was delicious. The crab cake sandwich was good.

Great atmosphere, great staff. I've never had a bad experience. The fish tacos are out of this world. Can't wait to try more of the menu.

Is the dog area only upstairs? Any downstairs outdoor dog friendly seating?

We have a fenced off patio downstairs but this time of year it’s only open for lunch. That area is where folks wait to be seated for dinner in the high season. Off season you can sit down there anytime you like.

I went in to get the reservation (expecting a long wait due to the crowd) she told me it was an hour and a half. We were totally fine with that, they have a great area to wait in the rear with corn hole, chairs, and a bar. But she made sure to tell me several times about the wait and asked me multiple times if I really wanted to wait that long. It felt like I was being pushed into not dining there. The wait ended up being a little over an hour. We got seated outside and it was beautiful and not too hot. Now let's get to the food. Our group ordered the buffalo shrimp as an appetizer and it was phenomenal!! We got the crab cake dinner, crab cakes sandwiches, and fish and chips for the entrees. They were all delicious as well. Our waitress was super nice to us and made sure we had a great time. So to end it, the food, waitress, and building/grounds was excellent and highly recommend (5/5 stars). The angry hostess that seemed like she didn't want anyone dining there because the wait time somehow bothered her, would not recommend (0/5 stars).

We showed up around 3:00 on a rainy Thursday and were seated immediately, which was much appreciated. We did end up in what was probably the least comfortable booth in the restaurant. I'm sure you guys know the one... It was a tight squeeze for my husband, my daughter, and me, but I'd still take that over waiting in the rain. My husband's crab legs were exactly what he was hoping for, and my crab cake sandwich was delicious. The surprise star of the meal, though, was my daughter's grilled cheese. We somehow ended up on an unofficial "grilled cheese tour" of the Outer Banks, and Tortugas' Lie set the bar at about a 15/10. Every grilled cheese we had after that was chasing first place. The only real tragedy of the visit? My husband accidentally left the bottle of their hot sauce at our Airbnb. Now I'm weighing the cost of ordering another bottle online against the cost of replacing my husband. Jury's still out. If you've never been, put it on your OBX list. It's one of those places we make a point to visit every trip.

There's also 2 sand volleyball courts where some serious (and not serious v-ball is played). Our 6th grade daughter is trying to get on her school volleyball team, so we brought her here to get some training with a local volleyball coach who happened to be here giving lessons. Our dogs, my wife and I just chilled out, drinking beer and mixed drinks while our daughter got some good work in for just $15 per hour. Win-win.

We decided that we would finally try it out with a friend who was visiting for his birthday. The food was not only amazing, the menu was transparent, the customer service was top notch, and the view speaks for itself! We ordered Tuna Tartare (very local tuna), calamari, shrimp burger sliders (so glad the shrimp location not being OBX didn't scare us away), house salad, tuna steak dinner, and the chef Mac burger. No one at our table had a single complaint- not even the 7-year-old who ate half the burger and bites of everyone else's food. Further, there was a hiccup, and the restaurant more than made it up by comping desserts that we otherwise would have never ordered (we're just not dessert people). WHOA were we grateful for that because their desserts are 'write home about it' worthy. As stuffed as I am writing this review, I can't wait to go back to explore the menu further.

Hard to find in Richmond so if I have a chance to get them, I jump at the chance. The special of the day was a flounder basket. I was able to substitute clam strips for other items, and the basket included a nicely sized piece of flounder (fish of the day), heaping helping of clam strips, fries, hush puppies, and slaw. "Beer of the Day" was $2.00! Wife got the cheesesteak sub with fries. All food--as they tell you when you walk in is fried--is fried. Totally OK with that and it was very, very tasty. Friendly staff, items mostly homemade, clean restaurant, a clear view of an honest-to-goodness working dock. Exactly what we were looking for for our last night in Manteo area. If you have not been to the Marina and Grill...please get there for a fun, tasty, almost entirely homemade meal at very reasonable prices, rubbing elbows with locals and people coming off of the fishing day, just adds to the charm to this slightly off the beaten path gem.
