I'm very happy with my experience today. The staff was so welcoming and nice, and Dr. Karen was amazing. I was very nervous for my deep cleaning because I usually cannot handle pain and wanted to do numbing right away. Dr. Karen told me if we do that, we would need to split the cleaning into different appointments, and he said let's first try without it. Honestly, I cannot believe it, but I did the whole deep cleaning with no numbing and almost no pain. Only a little sensitivity, which is normal for my teeth. For the first time in my life, I did deep cleaning without numbing shots. Dr. Karen has very gentle hands and made me feel comfortable the whole time. For sure I will be back. What an exceptional dentist! Dr. K. walked into the exam room and said, "What would you like me to do for you?". I was there for a cosmetic concern and a crack in my tooth. He listened and truly delivered. I was able to get my repair the same day. The entire appointment was only an hour. They have music and monitors/tv's above your head so that you are entertained while the work is being done. The office is lovely! I am pretty particular. Dr. K. was understanding of my quirks and my OCD and walked me through the process the entire way, checking multiple times on my satisfaction. I had all 4 wisdom teeth + 1 cracked molar removed by Dr. B. I was terrified going in, but all the staff reassured me that I was in Good hands. I opted for the IV sedation, and the needle in the arm was the worst part of the procedure (it wasn't even that bad!!!) I woke up to the sound of someone saying "Ok, you're all done!" That was 2 days ago, and im almost pain free with very minimal pain meds (800mg ibuprofen). I was expecting to be in much more discomfort but was pleasantly surprised. I have lot of confidence on his skills, I wanted to know and ask where he was graduated, but I did not ask him, what an amazing doctor, fixed my half implant in 5 minutes and his assistance nurse is also great. I took a picture in his Granada brand new great office with him along with my daughter, here I am posting that picture also. I have asked question about my daughter(8-year-old) dental braces for best age and time, he has seen my daughter teeth and advised me that wait for couple years and look for orthodontist for advise, thank you so much Dr. Karen sir for that free advice without appointment for my daughter. If you're on Yelp looking for a dentist because you haven't been in far too long and you're looking for confirmation, this is it. I hadn't been to the dentist in over 4 years and was extremely embarrassed and anxious about my first time back. I'm so glad I settled on Dr. Hovsepyan as she put me at ease right away. She never showed any sign of judgement and was patient and understanding. Following my visit with her, my insurance (MetLife), sent me a claim and said the office was out of network. I called the office and was sad to say I could no longer see them. The office manager (from the Van Nuys office) took my call and again, was incredibly sweet and assured me that despite being out of network I had no outstanding balance with them and anytime I was going to owe money, it would be discussed as an upfront cost. In the short time I've been seeing Dr. Hovsepyan, everyone in the office has been amazing. Despite being out of network, I am continuing to see the office as they work with you and in some ways this actually helped me. I am so grateful to have found this dentist. Dr. H and her husband (who is the oral surgeon) performed gum recontouring aka gingivectomy on my upper gums purely for cosmetic reasons, and can't say how much happier I am with my smile. Even after having braces more than 5 yrs ago, no other dentist offered the services for my gums. The staff including the receptionists and hygienists are so polite and helpful. I've had 2-3 cleanings done here, and I never experience pain. I also never wait more than 5min once I arrive for appts time, so they are definitely in top of being punctual. Even after months after my gum surgery, Dr. H said hello just to check up on me making sure I was happy with everything. I wish I had a picture of my before and after, perhaps I'll ask for a copy next time. Give this dentist place a try. The doctor actually will explain what he's going to do and why before he starts, he even answers my sometime "dumb" questions that I have a smile. It was my first time here and I'm impressed! Staffs are all super friendly and professional! The doctor was nice and patiently answer all my questions. The place is clean and nice as well with new equipments right there to do whatever they need to do for me. The only reason why it's not a 5-star in my onion is that there's no doors to close the room, maybe it's just the room that I was in cuz it's my first time and I need X-ray? I'm not quite sure. Ok so I have only had horrific experiences with dentist. So I haven't been to a dentist for about 10 years. I knew at this point I was going to have another horrible experience because of my lack of care. Thanks to others like me (afraid of dentist in general) that took the time to write a review for Viva I took a chance. This was the BEST experience EVER! First, from the first call to make the appointment I felt cared for. They took the time to understand my situation and squeezed me in so I wouldn't have to wait and be in pain any longer then necessary. Next the visit, they did everything they could to make me feel welcome and comfortable. Ok so now let's talk about the actual dental experience. He was very calming. I immediately felt like he knew what he was doing, knew what I needed, gave me several options, and even took the time to educate me so I truly could make the best choice myself. I had not had anything even close to that experience before. So as I said earlier I was in for a serious issue. I ended up having to have a crown removed, cut out the roots, bone graph, and several stitches later I was done! I felt nothing!!! So again my fault I couldn't get the prescriptions filled for several hours. When the Novacaine wore off I was in a lot of pain. Totally my fault. I filled the prescriptions and an hour later I was fine. I woke up this morning with no pain. Viva will be my dentist for life and I will be going regularly because I can. If you've ever had a bad experience that keeps you from taking care of yourself then you must give this dentist a try. It will change your heath and your life!!! read more

After having some bad dental work done while I was in college my smile was in need of severe help. Dr. Hovsepyan was able to repair a crown followed by removing two implants that were poorly placed. I'm in the process of getting braces and finishing off with three new perfect implants. Couldn't be happier with their service professionalism and how welcoming they made me feel. So I hate the dentist.....don't most people....haven't been in years. A few years back, I broke a tooth leaving only the root. It desperately needed to be extracted, so I decided to check out yelp for a good dentist. I originally found their van nuys location, but Dr. Hovsepyan told me about their new location in granada hills, so I decided to check it out. I made an appointment and drove from Encino. The facility is new and looks great! I was greeted by Dr. Baghdasaryan and his staff. I filled out the patient form and was seated in a room within 5 minutes. Dr. Baghdasaryan performed a quick assessment and the staff took the x-ray of my tooth. He explained the procedure and what he was going to do. The local anesthetic was placed is 2 places and was numb within 5 min. He extracted the tooth and I literally did not feel a thing!!! It was crazy. I was in and out within 20 minutes. The staff gave me some gauze to clot the extraction site, as well as some instructions on what to avoid for the new few days. It cost me $150 for the surgical extraction as they waived the xray examination charge since I was a new patient. I have already recommended them to my sister. I will definitely be sure to come back for any future dental needs!!! read more

Dr. Baghdasaryan is an absolutely amazing dental surgeon. After putting off the removal of my wisdom teeth for over 10+ years and after seeing multiple dentists and dental surgeons who told me either they won't risk doing the surgery or that I would have permanent nerve damage (due to the fact that the bottom ones were too close to the nerve), I am beyond happy with my decision to go with Dr. Baghdasaryan. Both he and his wife (Dr. Hovsepyan) were so gentle knowing how scared I was about the whole process. He pulled out all four of my wisdom teeth yesterday and I had heard so many horror stories that I was expecting to have a level 10 pain from a scale of 1-10. As I said, I got it done yesterday and since yesterday I've been at a 2-3 on the pain scale. It's more discomfort than pain. Very minimal swelling, which makes the healing even faster. I was in and out of there in no time. I'm so glad with my choice of going ahead with Dr. B, that I will definitely recommend any and all family and friends to him.
