I initially reached out to speak with the manager/owner regarding an issue my mother experienced while scheduling an appointment. I was told by Nicole that the owner, Sheryl was finishing with a client and would call me back around 3:00 PM. That call never came. I followed up at 4:00 PM and was then told the owner had already left for the day but would call me once she got home. Again, no call was received. The original concern was regarding my mother's appointment. As a Mother's Day gift, I purchased her a Groupon for highlights so she could treat herself and enjoy the experience. She successfully booked an appointment for next Saturday at 11:00 AM and later received a call at 5:53 PM that same day asking whether she would be paying full price or using Groupon. Once she confirmed it was a Groupon appointment, the tone of the conversation noticeably changed and she was told she would now need to wait an additional 2-3 weeks because that stylist "doesn't take Groupons." We were then told this policy is outlined in Groupon fine print and that Groupon appointments must be scheduled weeks out. However, I reviewed the Groupon details thoroughly and could not find any language stating that only certain stylists accept Groupon appointments or that there is a required waiting period. My concern isn't simply availability, it's the inconsistency and lack of transparency. If restrictions exist for Groupon customers, they should be clearly disclosed before appointments are booked, not after confirmation. It was disappointing that something purchased as a Mother's Day gift ended up becoming stressful and left us feeling like the appointment became an issue only once the payment method was disclosed. I was hoping to resolve this directly before leaving a review, but after multiple promises of a callback that never happened, I felt it was important to share our experience.

She gossiped about a number of her other clients right in front of customers and my appointment ended up taking almost 9 hours. The plan was a balayage/ombre to keep my blonde but soften and freshen it up like the pictures we looked at. She literally just painted 95% of my hair with bleach and let some roots show through. I don't know much about hair so I asked a lot of questions. She she seemed to know what she was doing. After my 9 hour appointment, my error was that I left satisfied. My hair was way lighter than I originally wanted, but Valerie took a pic to show me the back and it looked fine (she should've given me a mirror).. In the salon it seemed just like a really light blonde, and the blow-out was really nice. Maybe I was just over excited by the change, but when I got home and saw myself in normal lighting I immediately broke down crying. My roots had an orangey tone and the majority of my hair was white. There was NO ombre. My hair was also extremely dried out and frayed. I called as soon as they reopened and expressedy my dissatisfaction. I apologized for having left seemingly happy and then changing my mind. I explained that I was in a hurry to catch a train after having been at the salon for so many hours, and I didn't take the time to process that this wasn't what I wanted. I should have taken the time to look at the entire finished look closely before leaving. Valerie was willing to have me come in to fix it up, which I did really appreciate. But then that same day my hair literally started falling out of my head (I hadn't washed it yet or anything... Still how it was from the salon). I decided that I just didn't feel comfortable going back there, and would rather pay again to have it done at a more reputable salon. I called to cancel and Nobody answered the phone. I ended up having my hair fixed elsewhere, where I learned how they are supposed to do ombre/balayage, and that 9 hours is an absolutely ridiculously amount of time. I paid a lot of money at glam bar and my hair was completely destroyed. I'm extremely disappointed.

If your looking for any weakness which is not so much a weakness this place has, I would say schedule in advance and make sure you give yourself enough time before an event or errand, and make sure you make her or anyone on staff aware of it. People seem to forget that this place takes Pride in their work. They will never let you walk out that door looking like a hot mess. As far as pricing, extremely fair!! Keep in mind it all depends on what your getting. You'll also love the hair salon it self, decent size spot and I mean the name of the business speaks for itself. I've been to so many nail salons and they never work out for me. I love this nail salon so much and the owner vivi is so humble beautiful inside and out. The nail technicians are very attentive and joyful. I've built a very strong friendship with one of the nail techs, Ana from the first day she was sweet, funny and amazing with the way she does acrylics. I always get them done by her. Maria has done my acrylics about 2 times and both times I loved them And the prices are very comfortable. Please give this place a visit. You won't want to go any where else. read more

I went to vivi nails maybe 6 times total. Today I had to go in for my nail to get fixed since it broke. I was there on Saturday for a filling. When I went today they fixed my nail with a tip and UV gel plus color gel and they didn't charge me! I used to only to go to "the best spots in Queens" and found it hard to find a good spot in Long Island - Farmingdale. I couldn't believe they didn't charge me! Came to Vivi after a friend of mine recommended her to have my eyebrows microbladed. She was very professional and explained the procedure in detail. Microblading is a treatment where they tattoo eyebrows onto your face using a small tool with a tiny blade. The salon was clean and Vivi was meticulous and took her time perfecting my eyebrows. It made me sad because if all I needed was color on my nails, I could do it myself and do a similar job. The pedicure was very uneven. I think they are used to doing gels, powders, and intricate nails, maybe they were having a hard time with doing a regular old manicure job.

The owner did my nails and she was so friendly and so thorough and my nails looked fantastic at the end. She offered me something to drink, and when I told her no, she had said to just let her know if I change my mind. Customers of hers that had become friends came to visit and they were just as friendly and nice as she was. We had great conversation and it felt like friends getting together. I love their color selection and she suggested a new color that came out and I am obsessed with it. I cannot wait to come back for a pedicure. The spa was clean and looked very fancy with the chandeliers and the lights underneath the pedicure chairs.
