I just moved to Massapequa Park and tried Danny's Nails & Spa for the first time and I was so very pleased with their hospitality and services. They interact with you and and are very kind. There was a a minor mixup but can praise Lou for being 100% honest, transparent and fixing the mixup immediately and efficiently. He went above and beyond. I was very impressed. I've been coming here for years but recently they changed owners and it hasn't been the same. I normally go to Hailey (old owner) but she doesn't work there anymore so I went for Wendy. When I went in I showed Wendy photos of nails I wanted and asked if she can do it. She said "I'll try". I was hesitant to ask her to do it because it didn't seem she was confident therefore I asked if she had any pictures of nails that she's done on people. However she didn't answer and just showed me nail designs on the wall by the front. As I was looking for a simpler design since I didn't like the ones on display, she started doing my nails. Which I don't mind because prepping takes a while. As she's prepping she didn't push or cut my cuticle and when she used the machine to prep my nails she was burning my skin (mind you it's just my bare nails nothing on them). When she first put the UV gel on and then told me to put it in the UV light I noticed that it was leaking onto my skin. I told her and she said she would fix it later. I mentioned it to her on 3 other nails and all she said was she would fix it later. These photos are an hour and 10 mins into doing my nails when I told her that I wanted to take them off because when she filing and shaving them it was hurting cause the UV gel got on my skin around my nail. All she said she needed to do was shave the cuticle area then the prepping would be finished. I didn't want her to finished because I was afraid that she would cut my skin because you can't event tell where the cuticle was and it was already hurting when she was filing/shaving the side of my nail. Secondly there was too much UV gel everywhere that it made my nails look chunky. The first few photos are of my right and left hand of what of needed a cuticle shave then the prep would be done. The videos is of her taking it off showing how much was left on my cuticle. And the last photo is of how I left and her taking "everything off". When she finished no one said anything to me. No sorry or anything. So I just left. Never coming back. read more

I was super excited to come here because of the good reviews however did not have a great experience. I got gel polish and asked for an almond shape specifically with a point. The entire time I was there I was worked on by 4 separate people. They were quiet but nice. One girl working on me loudly said "your hands are SO dry" as I'm sitting there in scrubs which was a little embarrassing. I work in healthcare so yes they are dry. My nails came out OK, they were poorly shaped and not matching, and somehow lumpy looking (You can see in pics)?? Within 5 days my nail broke, and they have a 7 day free repair window. I went in and they charged me $5 for a tip to be put on. If the nail breaks within that time period why am I being charged?? Here I am 12 days out and a second nail chipped. The person doing my pedicure barely scrubbed my feet and I still have blisters and peeling skin that wasn't scrubbed off. I also had a repaired nail and told the tech not to remove the repair. She said okay, but then broke it off and the nail is uneven and looks awful. They didn't match the other toes and I asked her to match them. She filed them down a little and that was it, and I didn't feel like asking again. I was getting a gel pedicure and she didnt use the prep before putting the gel on my nails, so I'm guessing the pedicure is not going to last as long. I was started with another person to do my gel manicure who asked what shape I'd like, I said square but when she was done, they were rounded almost like square-round and I told her to just make them round because they looked awful. Then I got switched to another person to do the rest of the manicure and she was using so much gel, a few of the nails have a thick glob at the end of them and it looks very poorly done. When I left my cuticles didn't look clean and my fingers all had gell stuck to them. When the tech asked if I liked them, i said no not really and gave a poor tip. She said to give more tip since 2 people did my nails, I said sure and gave the pedicurist 2 dollars in cash which I was not happy about. Danny, your nail techs don't listen to the customer, they don't do a thorough job, and I don't like being moved around from one tech to the other. That's why I gave one star. I would post pictures, but I got them redone the following day because they looked like a 10 year old did my nails. I won't be coming back here because this is not the right place for me, good luck and wish you the best! read more

This is a newly owned nail salon in the area (about 3 months old). I waited to write a review until after my second visit (I loved the outcome of my first powder gel manicure, but all us ladies know you have to wait a few days/weeks to see how it holds up). Well, my powder gel lasted and lasted and lasted. There was no wear, tear, or lifting of the edges (and I'm a habitual nail picker). I was very impressed and returned today with a friend for a second visit! Danny and his staff are friendly, professional, and the salon is clean and tidy. They have a great selection of traditional and fun colors to choose from. I highly recommend trying this place. Support your local businesses-especially the good ones! Danny is super nice. I called a few weeks back and didn't end up going. He texted me and said he hoped to see me soon. I texted him today for gel ($25) and gel dip prices ($30). It was a Friday at 4:20 and I asked if I could come in at 4:45. He sat me right down with someone when I came in. There was regulars in there talking to him about different designs he's done (ombré, marble, etc). I tried the gel dip for the first time, and love how they came out. Nails were fine but grew out badly- like the shape was too small for my nails and the nails chipped a little which should not happen for a set of acrylics with gel polish. I paid 2x more than I would have paid at Me Too in Lindenhurst and Me Too is 2x as skilled as Danny Nails. I would not have left a review if I wasn't charged so much- for those prices the work should have been phenomenal. It was just okay and should have been at least $25 less. read more

I'm so happy I finally found a nail place close to me ! I went there this morning for the first time and got sns done by Lucy. She did an amazing job, cut my nails and shaped them exactly how I wanted. Danny is extremely friendly and was very understanding when I made my appointment and told him I had to be done by 11. I love this place! I had always been hesitant to try gel powder but wanted to try it out for when I get married in a few months. Danny could tell it was my first time and was very helpful in explaining the process. The pricing is very reasonable compared to other places I researched, and the reviews are ALL positive which I definitely didn't find anywhere else. I'm a horticulturist, which means I work with my hands A LOT, constantly digging in soil and doing other tasks that really destroy my hands. Despite this, my nails stayed in great shape for three weeks, apart from one nail which only fell off the day before I went for my next manicure (which, again, I blame on my physically demanding job) - this was in a three week period, which is really impressive to me! This place is great!!! Just got Gel powder done and im so happy with it. Where I used to get gel powder done took over 1.5 hours to do but i walked in and Nancy had it done in a half hour, and it is thick and strong which I love!!!! Im asking for nancy next time :) And the prices here are significantly lower than any spot in massapequa with the same, if not better, quality! read more

My mom and I went into Danny's nails for the first time today. We called and were able to get an appointment for the same day. It was the first time we were both getting sns gel nails. The manicurists were attentive and quick! We were done in 45 minutes! Danny was interested in the colors we picked and made sure we were both pleased with the service and product. He made sure we were comfortable and provided us with waters. The salon is clean and they use liners for pedicures. I will definitely be going back. They have great hours too. read more
