I came to Crutchfield out of desperation, but I should have gone there first. I pulled my brother's…read moreold Atari 2600 out of the attic and exhausted every option trying to get it connected. Nothing seemed to work. Well, I brought the box with the console, games, cables, etc down to Crutchfield and their eyes lit up. The staff not only heard me out as I tried to explain how I was struggling to get this 70's dinosaur hooked up to our modern television, they did research on the spot to see if we could figure it out together. One of the techs was literally on his way off-shift for the day, but he stuck around to help me out. When they couldn't find a suitable adapter in stock, the guy crimped a custom RF to coaxial cable right in front of me. On the spot. He fabricated the connection we needed from scratch, like he was pulling it out of thin air. This man is a wizard I will absolutely be back here for any audio/visual needs I have going forward.

CRUTCHFIELD LIFETIME SUPPORT IS A LIE!…read more Crutchfield promised me "lifetime support" when they told me to buy a $2000 lemon and - three years later after warranty repairs did nothing and me spending countless hours on the phone and in chat and spending a small fortune hiring local AV techs did nothing - now they are telling me "no we won't help you, buy a new one or go away". The specifics: at Crutchfield's recommendation, I purchased a Yamaha RX-A4A in June 2024. I immediately had problems with it shutting off - many calls and chats with tech support. Returned to Yamaha in 2025, they did not fix it. Now 2026 Crutchfield refuses to help me in any way! Just an FYI: I have two degrees in electrical engineering from MIT so I'm really not an idiot user. Not only is the Yamaha garbage, what really makes me angry is that Crutchfield PROMISED ME LIFETIME TECH SUPPORT AND NOW THEY ARE ABANDONING ME!

Yesterday I contacted Valley Electric about some strange electrical issues I was having. They…read morecould have sent a technician out and changed me a service call. Instead, they recognized that the issues were probably on the supply side and suggested I contact my power provider. My power provider realized that the issue was theirs. It has been temporarily fixed as a second crew will need to come out to fix it properly. I had up to 8 people working on this issue for about 8 hours. Since this is a power company issue, it is going to cost me nothing. This says a lot about Valley Electric. They could have easily made a few bucks off of me but decided to do the right thing instead and provided excellent customer service.

Got my light fixture/ceiling fan fixed today, which was totally unresponsive to the light switch,…read moreby David at Valley Electric of Harrisonburg, who was thorough, prompt, personable, extremely knowledgeable and professional. He took apart both it and the light switch in his quest to find out what was wrong, tested every wire, the neutral, and the sockets to see if they had power, and replaced some small plastic items that needed replacing. When the fan and lights were working again, he was still not satisfied, because there was a small rattling noise, so he unscrewed the top of it to feel around, removed a piece of paper and did something else, tightened the screws, and I'm hearing just the slight hum of the fan blades as they whirl around. He will be the one I call the next time I need an electrician.
