They change. The staff, the food, and even the store! Every time I went here I always have to get their silken tofu. It's excellent, the tofu resembles a lot from my childhood tofu that I usually eat in the morning. It's soft and blend well with the ginger syrup. Their soy milk is also top notch, this is the only location that I wants to brought their soy milk from. The soy milk and silken tofu is almost identical to what I have in Vietnam. I'm not sure if it's the change in owner or what, but I think it's safe to said that this place deserve a chance to get a visit. This review is only for the banh mi sandwiches. We stopped by to grab some sandwiches on Friday around lunch time. I have to say it was completely underwhelming and disappointing. I had the bbq banh mi and my husband had the chicken banh mi. He said his was okay, but I ate my entire sandwich and was so disappointed that I actually still felt hungry. I'm currently pregnant and when I'm hungry almost everything is great haha. The bbq was not very flavorful and was a bit too chewy with fat. But I think it was mainly the vegetables in the sandwich that I felt was lacking. I was expecting a pickled, marinated daikon and carrot mix. Instead it was a soy sauce flavor. The taste wasn't terrible. I wa just pretty disappointed. I won't be going back anytime soon. I should have checked the trusty Yelp app and gone to Huy's sandwich nearby. read more

VN Tofu has existed for quite a while in the shopping center with Hong Kong Supermarket. I've seen this place so many times while eating at other places (Bento, Bambu) nearby and never thought to actually go in and buy something til this past week after picking up some desserts at Bambu. I've been inside maybe once before long long ago when I was in... high school... but other than that I've yet to be back. They sell all sorts of Vietnamese snacks and eats here, including all sorts of Che in the refrigerator. You can find banh baos, goi cuon, banh mi, banh xeo... the list goes on. I stopped by during this particular occasion to pick up a banh mi as a snack - I went my usual pick at any banh mi spot - combination. What I liked about this one was that not only was there the normal cuts of pork + pate, but there was also BBQ pork inside! This was new - never had BBQ pork inside my combo banh mi before. The baguette was fresh as well. VN Tofu banh mi is comparable to the likes of Quoc Huong and Lee's Bakery off Buford Highway without having to drive all the way there (at least for me). As with those stores, VN Tofu offers the buy 5 get 1 free banh mi deal. I'll definitely be back to try out the Che (desserts) and other yummy goods I saw while browsing. read more

When I'm craving Vietnamese snacks/foods, I try to come here since it's the only place that I know of that sells all the goodies that I like. This place isn't close to home so I don't come by too often. The past few times that I've bought food/drinks from here, I've ended up with either spoiled or molded items. Considering that I only visit this place a few times a year, that's a lot! It's disgusting and a waste of money. Worst Banh Mi ALERT: This place is convenient and is located right in the center of everything Viet. They sell much more than just Tofu related products-- drinks, desserts, snacks, finger foods viet style, etc. I can't say for other products they sell, but DO NOT BUY BANH MI HERE. It is the worst banh mi I have ever eaten at any viet establishment. My fried egg, salt n pepper, mayo, and green onion banh mi could have done better. I usually stick with special banh mi, and this is the only place where they pre-made which is not a good sign. To make it worse, their special banh mi has bbq chicken in it. OMG why? Our banh mi was chewy, plain, tasted old, and not good at all. Man, this place is so sorry, they even lack of saltNpepper in banh mi. And because we didn't know better, we stuck with with 43 worst ever banh mi in the back of the van. If Ba Le in Chicago or Lee's sandwiches is the a 10, this place is a 2. What's there to say, but the fact that this place is a Vietnamese street food paradise. Not only that, but it has alot of Vietnamese desserts as well! I usually come here for Desserts (Che), Vietnamese Baguettes (Banh Mi), or what they're known for; the fresh tofu and soybean milk! I always try my best to visit and like all the other Vietnamese "food to go" places but always end up thinking they don't compare to good ole VN Tofu. They have TONS of premade food choices. TONS! All for really good prices too. Lots of vegetarian options as well, so if you're vegetarian definitely pay them a visit. It's pretty amazing what they can do with tofu. Their cha gio are really good, and are pretty good sized. Prices can't be beat. The nice thing is you can also buy a whole tray, so if you're throwing a party it's the perfect finger food! They have a whole side wall lined with coolers for their many many drinks (soy bean milk, etc) and lots of Vietnamese desserts. Also have various meats and other goodies. Fresh sugar cane, fresh squeezed orange juice, etc can be ordered at the counter. Cheap prices, huge cups. Good stuff. Along with the crazy selections of food items they have, I would have to say their main bread and butter are their Banh Mi sandwiches. I think they are only 3-4 dollars a piece, and if you buy 5 you get one free. They are made very quickly, big sized, and are in my opinion the best Banh Mi in Atlanta. Plus they make it right in front of you so you know they are sanitary unlike many other places. THEY SELL SPOILED SOY MILK!!!BE AWARE!! I bought 2 bottles of the pandan soy milk and it was rotten!!!! The soy milk tasted sour and started to cake up and solidify in the bottle! I felt the bottle before I purchased it, and it was warm. I thought, it was freshly made because it was warm( like normal freshly made soy milk) but it wasn't!!!!!!!! I drank the soy milk 30 mins from the time I've purchased it restaurant and realize these people must've reheat old soy milk to sell or it was not stored appropriately. Either way, they should be more careful in how they prepare and store their products. I also bought Tofu with the sugar and ginger sauce But decided to throw it away because I did not want to chance eating rotting food. My bf & I got a Banh Mi from here! They're nice and affordable. We got the Banh Mi Thit Nuong, and the meat was sooo flavorful. Their pickled veggies are also so good. They do require a $10 minimum to use the card, which is understandable and kind of inconvenient at the same time. Not a lot of people carry cash these days. Not bad, but definitely not the best. I sort of like this place bc you can do a quick "in-and-out" for a quick snack or a quick grab for lunch/dinner. They have a variety of sticky sweet and/or salty rice (xoi) and Vietnamese desserts. They do have a few frozen items in their standing freezers. I love they also have a variety of fried tofu for purchase. The store is also conveniently located in a larger asian retail/food area. On this particular trip, 2 out of 6 things I bought were spoiled. It can happen when your staffs aren't rotating the inventories. Service wasn't spectacular, but what do you expect from 2 very uninterested 20+ y/o females that didn't particular care. I have been yesterday on our way back from stone mountain. I always try to make a stop if we drove by. As a gwinnett resident we do not usually go that far. I agree with some review this is not the cleanest place, not the best service. But I really like the large selection of food, I always buy some for our dinner. I go here sometimes because it's convenient to where I work but goodness overtime I just wished the workers wouldn't be so rude. It doesn't happen often but when it does it really makes me not want to come here again. BBQ Pork Sandwich is so good and tasty. It is only 3.50$ , the price is normal for Vietnamese sandwich. I also got mix basil roll from their. The peanut sauce is a little light, and not too thick. It is just right . I try the coconut jelly in whole coconut . It is very good , but it is just a little too sweet . I like it more naturally sweet , the sweetness is covering the coconut smells. VN Tofu sets its atmosphere like the food portion of a gas station. It can occasionally be a little sloppy but the food is worth the sketchiness. They have everything from a light snack to a meal stocked up all around the building and as their name suggests they do carry tofu but a lot of other things like bahn mi, spring rolls, and Vietnamese desserts. I am not a vegetarian but their vegetarian options are pretty tasty such as their egg rolls. The only complaint I would have with this establishment is the fact that there is a $10 minimum charge for cards which is absurd to be considering the fact that most of their items go for about $1~3. This establishement is closer to a fast food restaurant rather than a sit down restaurant. They also have vegan banh mi and it's the best in Atl. Since this place serves Vietnamse cuisine it is also gluten free. Here are a few highlights from their menu: Soy milk: come in 3 varieties with/without sugar and pandan leaves flavor(my favorite) Tofu: steamed or fried in many variety such as lemongrass(my favorite), pork/cilantro, shrimp Drinks: all their drinks are freshly pressed such as passion fruit, sugar cane(my favorite), orange, penyworth, and Vietnamese style coffee(espresso with condensed milk). So today after church, my brother-in-law and sister took me to this place. It was my first time here and wow.. just WOW! They have so many munchies!! And I wanted to eat banh mi (hope I spelled it correctly). So I got the chicken banh mi and took it to-go.. All banh mi are $3 each or you can buy 5 and get 1 free! I want to come here next time and try out their chicken and pork buns! They looked tasty! And I want to try out their sweet rice cake wrapped in some kind of leaves.. banana leaves, maybe? So it's been a while since I've come back, and a few things have happened. There is a new location of VN tofu in Charlotte near where my parents live, and we have a good relationship with the guy there, so we get hot tofu fa (WITH ginger in the syrup instead of the plain one they gave us this time). He also fries the tofu fresh if you bother to go to the store instead of buying it at the supermarkets, so I've been very spoiled. All of the staples are here - prepared to-go dishes and sweets. They also offer freshly squeezed cane juice, which is always a treat when I go OTP. The bahn mi's here are pretty cheap and come with a lot more toppings than other places. I think this was my worst experience with this place. I've bee. Coming here since they opened, and along the way new employees have came in and ruined my experience with this place. The food is cheap and everything, but I don't agree with some of the prices for some of the things. The egg rolls are good, and so is the spring rolls, but the prices are not so good. For the price of four, you can buy the supplies and make it yourself. This is a very famous place, so they tend to forget a lot of customers. The employees are rude. I once was picking up banh mi for my parents and they didn't give me enough cash, so I had to run out to my car and get it from my wallet. When I came back and paid the lady was talking straight up about me. I guess she didn't think I knew Vietnamese, so I stood in line waiting for her to be done checking out, and I would have paid and left. The lady looked at me up and down and guessed about my appearance. I wasn't looking my best that day. I had a doctors appointment. I'm not looking cute for anyone. The lady was really ugly, and she had a very bright pink lipstick on. I found that disgusting. She had a big mole, and I felt like that thing was looking straight at me. I guess other than my last experience everything else was gucci. I would recommend this place. I wouldn't recommend not bringing enough cash. I will be back for more food. This is a great stop for banh mi and other Asian quick bites. We always try to stop by this place to pick up half a dozen banh mi when we're in the area. There's a wide variety of food you can pick up. We usually go for the banh mi, spring rolls, and banh bao (steamed buns). I actually think their banh mi's are okay. Not the best (you can get better at other places), but it does come at a great price and they have VERY fast service. I think their banh bao's are insanely good and actually is the highlight food item in the shop for me. Warm, soft/fluffy and slightly sweet bun, and stuffed with pork meat, a quail egg, and other goodies. Definitely one of the best places that I've gone to for banh bao. Don't go in expecting a smile and a friendly face, not that the servers are mean or anything, but this is a quick stop and go deli. They are pumping out banh mi and other food items very quickly so they focus on speed and efficiency, not on giving out smiles and asking how your day is. If you are interested in trying out some traditional Asian food and having a wide variety of selection in front of you, try this place out. You'll definitely find something that peeks your interest. CAUTION: I have seen A LOT of reviews on here that mention having bad experiences with this place in terms of old food and sour drinks. I, personally, have never experienced any of this from all of my visits there, but it does raise a red flag when you see a ton of yelpers mentioning this. Honestly, those reviews won't stop me from coming here, but it doesn't surprise me either. They have so much selection!!!! It was so overwhelming walking in there the first time. I missed the ENTIRE fridge and dessert section! I was so disappointed when I found out! Their banh mi is really good, I would just recommend to ask them to remove the mayonnaise. It is delicious without it. Their tofu is sooo good too. It is really inexpensive and I got a ton because we were going on a road trip to Savannah. By the time we got to our destination, all the food was done and we were really happy people. I wish I could give them 4 stars, but I can't. I love their sesame balls and sandwiches. They have a very delicious sandwiches. 4 stars are for thoes food. But 1 star for drinks. I tried their thai green tea many times, and there were at least 4 times that I had a bad drink. It was sickly and sour. Same with soya milk. If luckily, I got the fresh and hot soya milk which they cook on the early morning. If not, the soya milk was in the cooler (I think it has been there for 2-3 days) and it was usually not good any more. It turned to soft tofu at the moment I got home. I love soya milk. This place has fresh soya milk, but not all the time. So far, 3 stars are for this store. Hope they improve it. read more
