I grew up (age 59) on this pizza so of course I love it. My favorite is a large with PP, SS, ON, GP, BO, MR. The sausage is unique in it's flavor and is what makes the pie. The dough doesn't have a large crust, al dente, toothsome taste/texture like a New York pizza but it is fold-able. Instead of being sliced into wedges it is cut into rectangles which make for easy pick. I prefer the cruncy 'corners' myself. The sausage sandwich is great too, sauce is unique also, a good tomato flavor. All locations are tiny but do have a few table and chairs if you can't wait to get one home! I now live in the Carolinas and I swear each time I come back to visit and reach the town limits, I have Volcano on the phone placing my order! read more

Good pizza - good cheese, good crust, etc. Pretty good salad too (for people that like "normal" salads with iceberg lettuce. The do put the pepperoni under the cheese, which I never understand, but it still tasted very good. The reason I didn't give a 5 star is that they don't seem to understand that a pizza is supposed to be cut into slices ... instead they cut it into awkward, differently shaped & sized strips, which was incredibly annoying (80% of crust on 4 "strips", major difference in size of each strip, etc.).. I've lived in multiple states over the years and this is my favorite pizza of all time. The crumbled sausage is excellent, small pepperonis, quality cheese, cross cut slices, and great sauce. The cheese can get greasy on top, but just blot it with paper towel and get over it. They also have an amazing hot ham and cheese sub and the bread sticks are awesome. Whenever I return to Elkhart I must eat here within the first day or so. Until then I can only daydream about that wonderful unique bready smell when you first walk in to pick up your take out order. As a lifetime customer of Volcanos, I can't tell you how upset I was about my interaction with them. This rating is for the terrible service from the manager on Friday 11/12/2021. We called to order delivery, which we have done countless times over the years since we only live 1.1 mile away from this location. The employee I spoke too was very short with me and refused to process my order for delivery. Her only response was "The manager says no", without further explanation. Confused about why they suddenly wouldn't deliver (which they've done tons of times before) I asked to speak with the manager, who became unnecessarily and extremely rude to me. The more polite I tried to be, the more rude he became with me. His responses were rude, abrupt, and dismissive. He actually told me that he didn't care if I took my business elsewhere and that it didn't matter to him. I completely understand that places are very short-staffed right now. I didn't even mind that they were unable to deliver to my house, but the way the manager spoke to me was completely uncalled for. Gave one star because it's required. read more

Volcano makes a good pie. The crust is decent, the ingredients seem average, and the taste is pretty good. I can't see anything great about this pizza, but it is better than some I've tried. The service is excellent...probably the strongest quality in my opinion. By no means is this a cheap pie, yes it is on the small side, but I feel it is worth the money you pay. I have yet to find a better pie in this community. So, for my money I will endorse Volcano and their pizza. read more

So the meatball sandwich is not a meatball it's more of a meat patty. With the works the green peppers are raw, who does that? New to the area so yesterday was my first time ever having Volcano Pizza. My boyfriend is from here and has always loved them. It was the best pizza I have ever had. I usually HATE pepperoni and will just eat a cheese pizza but their pepperoni pizza was to die for. We also got breadsticks with extra sauce and thank god we did. I've been dipping my pizza in the extra sauce because it's so good. The best part is how amazing the pizza still is the next day. I can't imagine eating pizza anywhere else. I've been going to Volcano every since 1967 so I can say I know my Volcano pizza. I've noticed that they seem to be cutting back on the quality of the ingredients and these last two we got on Sunday (1 with meatballs, onions and mushrooms and one with pepperoni with 1/2 olives from Concord Mall store) tasted watered down, like the sauce had been watered down or the cheese wasn't right. A lot of money for 2 pizzas that were no better than fast food chain pizzas at 1/3 the cost. So disappointed. There are too many other good pizza places to go, so trying to cheapen the pizza is not the way to go, I would pay a little more for the real Volcano taste if you need to raise prices. read more

This used to be my favorite pizza place around here , I would stop in a pick up pizza once a week on the way home from work , but after the horrible experience I had here last night , I will never go in there again. So I ordered dinner before I left work so I could pick up on the way home , when I arrive to pick up my pizza there is only one customer in front of me at the register , two employees are swiping and re-swiping his debit card that is not working as they are just chit chatting amongst themselves about personal issues , as if they were alone in the room . I'm standing there waiting my turn to pay when the pizza cook asks if he can help me and then takes my pizza off the hot stove and puts it on the counter in front of me where it stayed , getting colder , for the next 10 minutes. Ok so now after standing there for what felt like forever , I just wanted to pay for my room temperature pizza and go home to my wife ' I had been roofing for 12 hours that day , and I was starving. Now here goes the employee swiping my card over and over again , not working , he punches in the digits on my card , not working. The next thing he tells me is that MY CARD is not working and I will have to go to the ATM !!! OUTRAGEOUS!!!! My card is not the problem , it's the machine JUST LIKE THE CUSTOMER BEFORE Me !!!!! So now after being in there for 2o minutes , the manager , she tells me her name is SUE , says she can't help me even tho she totally knows I'm a regular customer too !!! When I tell her I want the owners phone number she would not give it , she took my phone number and told me someone would contact me today , WELL GUESS WHAT NOBODY CALLED !! VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I am sorry , I'm from New York and have worked in many family pizza places I KNOW AND HAVE SEEN GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THIS PERSON "SUE " NEEDS SOME TRAINING HOW TO TALK TO AND TREAT CUSTOMERS THE PROPER WAY !! it was a problem on their end not mine , I should have been given that darn pizza and sent on my way.
