Really a nice appearance inside. Modern, clean and new. There were 4 of us so we ordered an appetizer along with our food ordered salads. Waiting for our appetizer and all of a sudden our meals come. I said to our server where's our appetizer and she said o I don't know then I said where's our salads, o I thought they were out. Wow total mess there. Don't offer to give us the appetizer for free or even say sorry. Food was nothing great, presentation was wonderful but taste was just ok. Don't think I will be back.

Voltolini's - Spaghetti Western Comfort in Hocking Hills Voltolini's is exactly what it promises -- a Spaghetti Western. Not five-star fine dining, but good, hearty Italian food with a little cowboy character, tucked away in the hills. And honestly? We really enjoyed it. We started with the meatball appetizer, which came with both marinara and Alfredo sauces. The meatballs were excellent -- homemade in-house daily, and you could tell. We split the chopped salad next. It was a nice entrée-size portion, though the lettuce was a little on the soggy side. The bread they brought out (free of charge) was delicious -- warm and soft. The butter had that garlicky pizza-joint flavor, which might not be for everyone, but we asked for olive oil and they brought some right out. It was perfect for dipping. For our main dishes, we had the manicotti and the chicken Alfredo. Both were solid, but the Alfredo was the winner -- creamy sauce, well-seasoned, and served with two good-sized chicken cutlets. We also tried both soups: minestrone and Italian wedding. Both were tasty, but we all agreed the Italian wedding had a slight edge. Service was great. Ashlee was friendly and on top of everything. I've seen some mixed reviews, but as long as you go in knowing what this place is -- a rustic, theme-y Italian spot that leans into its Spaghetti Western vibe -- you won't be disappointed. I eat out a lot and have pretty high standards, and this was a pleasant surprise.

The food was decent but the prices were quite high. I did really enjoy the side salad with the house ranch.

This was our first time visiting this restaurant and was not disappointed! Our server was friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself was clean and comfortable with country music playing softly in the background. Our food came out in a timely manner and was hot and delicious. Only one aspect of the meal we didn't care much for was the "butter" served with the bread. It reminded me of the fake garlic butter you can order from a pizza place. We would have much preferred some good olive oil and herbs for dipping. As for the prices, I thought they were very reasonable for the generous portions served. We'll definitely be back!

Tried while visiting family. Thought it was odd we were one of only 2 groups there, but it was good. I would go again.

Good service, very clean and our orders were completed correctly. The menu was kind of limited but overall a good experience.

A group of 6, we ate here August 2025. The food was average. The lighting was too bright. Weight staff was good.

It is in an attractive, small storefront in the historic downtown area. Although there is no indoor seating there are chairs outside . Upon entering, you'll be greeted by the wonderful aroma of freshly baked breads and treats. Directly in front of you is a case filled with delectable goodies - assoted varieties of cannoli, tiramisu, lemon bars, New York cheesecake, strawberry cake roll, chocolate cake roll, macaroni, and more!!! My husband had the Chicken Parmesan sandwich on foccacia and I had chicken with pesto, balsamic glaze, mozarella cheese, & tomato on occasion. Both sandwiches were HUGE and one alone could have easily fed both of us! We each raved about our choice - delicious, tender foccacia, generous amounts of high-quality fillings, all with the perfect blend of seasonings. Service was friendly and efficient. If at all possible, we will definitely stop by on our way back north. 10/10 (actually more!!!). A definite must-stop!

I was a little happier with my blueberry muffin than I was my Cousin Vinny. I wanted so bad for the sandwich to taste like an amazing Muffaletta because of the ingredients, but it didn't blow my mind. Still, it was fine. It was disappointing that they were out of chicken cutlets because several of the sandwiches had that as the critical ingredient. But I would go back to explore the cutlets and their various Italian mains (lasagna, meatballs, etc) if I am ever in Nelsonville again.

This place functions primarily as a daytime café, but on Fridays and Saturdays, the chef/owner crafts a rotating four-course menu that changes weekly. There is a shared bread or antipasto course for the table, then a choice of soup or salad, two entrees, and two desserts. We went the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. The bread course was a delicious focaccia, light and pillowy and infused with rosemary flavor. When we told our server how much we loved it, she offered us a clamshell with two additional slices to take home. That was such a nice gesture! I had the soup (a cream-based Italian soup with sausage, kale and potatoes), while my husband had the salad with homemade balsamic dressing. Both hit the spot. The dinner options were a choice of pastas. I had the puttanesca, which was bursting with big flavors from the garlic, anchovy and olives. If I had one slight criticism, it would have been that I'd have loved a touch more red pepper -- but I'll freely admit I have a higher spice tolerance than most people. My husband had the "summer fettuccine," which was prepared with bacon, corn and sun-dried tomatoes in a Gorgonzola cream sauce. I didn't taste it because I'm not a fan of the Gorgonzola flavor, but he raved. Both desserts were superb: a strawberry cake and an apple cake that our server informed us was also vegan. We never would have known. It was not dense at all in the way some vegan desserts can be. The server and the chef/owner were both so lovely and welcoming to two non-locals who stumbled in for dinner on a rainy night. It seemed like they knew everyone else there by name, so this is definitely a warm and inviting neighborhood place. The four-course dinner is a steal at $38 per person (plus tax and tip). It's also BYOB. We will surely be back on our next trip to Athens!
