I usually avoid Costco on Saturday but today I needed some extra supplies for a wedding reception so I didn't have a choice. It was crazy crowded but I was impressed with how cheerful the employees were. My cashier was working very fast but still managed to keep up a pleasant conversation. At each register an employees unloading carts and another employee was loading the carts after the cashiers finished scanning each item. This allowed the checkout lines to move very quickly. This is a 2025 update. Costco continues to be the cornerstone of my shopping for groceries and HomeGoods. I go here weekly to fill up my car because it's cheaper. Make sure to get the credit card which gives you 5% back now. I still enjoy the return policies which allow you to price match when the price drops. Often you have to buy and return the item instead of just price matching because the time that they give you is only 2 to 3 weeks I believe. There are still moments that are frustrating, especially when they're long lines. Hopefully they will roll out a scan and go feature in the future. They have updated their app where you can now search for whether the item is in stock and what the price is at your local Costco. I also went on our first Costco travel vacation to Mexico. It was a great experience the room that they gave us was amazing. The gift card coming back also made it even a sweeter deal. read more

I've lived a number of places and shopped at many Costcos. This is the only one where the staff does not speak to or acknowledge the customer about to drop $$$ on products. Not ONE word of greeting (or any words at all) by a cashier my last 3-4 visits. They are too busy chatting with each other. Between this and crappy parking lot design, I am dropping my Costco membership for the first time since I joined in 2010. Maybe I'll rejoin when I move out of Fort Wayne. read more

As one reviewer noted, whomever designed the parking should be fired, I have to agree. Getting out of there is worse than getting in. The interactions I have had with employees has been fine. My only little complaint would be the lines to give them your money aka the checkout. Companies should make it EASIER to hand them your money, not harder. Why there are always long lines ( seen it as far back as the meat dept) to checkout is ridiculous. Maybe this store got shorted in checkouts when it was built, I don't know. Since it appears to always be that busy, maybe consider building another one in the area. read more

I was impressed with this location. It was very clean. The shelves were well stocked and the inventory was different (some items) than my local Georgia store. Unlike my Georgia location, this one had hard alcohol in the store. The prices were great. As was the selection. I look forward to shopping here more often in the future when I spend more time in Indiana. read more

Costco gas attendant treated me like a 5 year old. Instead of the respect of a 64 year old HANDICAPPED male. Since attendant was so rude I purchased gas elsewhere. (no real savings anyway). Costco just does things right. Their COVID-19 precautions have been top notch since day one and they continue to impress every time I visit. Gas is always cheaper and worth the price of membership if you travel or commute. Always clean, usually well stocked, and the people are always great - friendly and efficient. Well KUDOS to Costco in Ft. Wayne. I don't know if they are doing this everywhere or not, but here goes: 1) When we walked in with our cart (I had gloves on) a nice lady stopped me immediately & wiped down the handle with a Clorox Wipe. 2) There were no food samples anywhere. 3) There were employees disinfecting all of the glass food & showcases where people can touch. 4) They had an employee in the hearing aid department disinfecting all the plastic cases that people use to get parts & accessories for their hearing aids. I thought that they rocked it big time & I'm grateful they are going the extra mile!!! We will definitely be regular customers! read more

The receipts are yellow instead of white which is a nice change of pace, however the back of the paper is a lighter shade of yellow than the front which made me slightly uncomfortable. I hope the color of future receipts are more consistent. The black ink was very dark and had clean lines. Pros: The seating area has a great view of the extra large ceiling fans. Cons: Bad food poisoning twice, once from a sample cart, once from packaged guacamole. Had to return several food items, the most disturbing of which was 2 loaves of wheat bread with half the mass in the center made of mold, both of them, no outer sign of mold. Some of the palletized produce is left well after the food quality has dropped to inedible or moldy. The rotisserie chicken can taste a bit wooden, and the ready to eat salad at the hot food counter can be a bit bland. I did end up returning my double membership about a year ago. Pros: The staff is super friendly, and not pushy, even the vendors lying in wait are not too bad. The available inventory/stock is fun, even if it is mostly giant size. Watching people with disposable income and expanding waistlines sort through the discounted Medium and Large size clothes is amusing. I honestly loved shopping there, and Sam's Club is hardly a serious competitor. The alcohol choices are worth the membership by themselves. Costco is like it's own medium-sized world. I love Costco. There's so much to love about this place. They have friendly faces throughout, cleanliness throughout and the best organic selections anywhere. They have some hidden deals too. They also carry clothes, appliances, liquor, dog food, home products and the list goes on and on. The membership per Year is a great value esp if you use their gas station, car buying benefits and other benefits that come with being a member. They offer samples throughout the store and ramp it up on the weekends. You won't leave hungry if you are though, at the end of your trip, stop by the food court as it has some delish food and sweet treats. Checking out isn't overwhelming, as the employees are quick and your wait won't be to long. Stop by and check it out if you have never been. You won't regret it. read more

Today we got our Costco card! Super excited they decided to build a location in Fort Wayne. Last year we had a membership at Sam's Club but decided to switch when our membership was up for renewal. I've shopped at both Costco and Sam's Club in other cities and always, always, Costco locations in comparison to Sam's are always cleaner and employee/managers are in a better mood. From what I can tell in regards to pricing, Sam's Club and Costco are very comparable. Costco, depending on the item I've noticed can be a few cents more then Sam's. But I'll pay for that if it means happier employees. As we continue to visit, I will have more information to provide about this location specifically. read more

COSTCO, please stop demanding people show their Membership card to get in the front door. Why do you do this? Do you really think people are coming in to spy on the store or what? If a person doesn't have a card, they cant buy anything anyway. SAM'S CLUB no longer requires you to stand at the door digging for your card, please get with that trend. Also, could you please join the 21st Century. SAM'S CLUB "SCAN and GO" App is awesome. I can not remember the last time I stood in line to make my purchase. I scan the barcode of my items as I put things in my cart, then head for the door. The best thing EVER! I tried to talk to the checkout manager about what SAM'S CLUB was doing the last time I was at COSTCO, she basically blew me off and got mad that I was comparing them to SAM'S CLUB. Always has a lot of samples at this location. Some prices are super, while others are a little more than you might find at SAMs club or other stores. Just go in with a watchful eye. Gas prices are many times the lowest in the area. If you need tires, this may be your stop. Al in all the cost of membership is worth it. read more

I love the store, but why on earth do they have all the lanes for gas going in one direction? Since about 80% of all cars have fuel tanks on the drivers side, you are losing out on a lot of business. I drove away today, due to lines, even though every other Lane was open. read more

Costco is hands down one of the best stop shops. Prices are great and not everything is in bulk like everyone thinks. I was a SAMs member for a couple years until I moved to Fort Wayne near Costco. It is much more clean, the staff is much much more friendly and overall atmosphere is more inviting. Prices are slightly higher than SAMs and that is the way it should be. Employees are paid more and therefore really really care. Executive membership is the way to go! 2% check pays my membership every year! read more

Buyer beware of shady dealings when it comes to the memberships. They offer an "Executive" membership for an additional $55.00 telling you that you will receive 2% rewards back fro shopping there. Want they don't tell you is this 2% cannot be used online for anything including a membership renewal!! You can't even check this balance online. The only way you can find out the reward balance is to call them and sit in their endless phone circle hoping someone will pick up. They do send you a fake check for the reward balance once a year but this fake check must be taken to the store to get the rewards credit promised, To bad for you if you don't live close to one of their stores. read more
