Dr. Vondra and his staff are completely incredible. The level of care that they provide is second to none! I was really disappointed to read some of the reviews here saying that his office only keeps you coming to max out your insurance benefits, etc. this is absolutely not true. I've been coming here for years and recently missed an appointment because I had to work late. Rather than reschedule, I went three weeks without being seen instead of my usual two. I immediately felt the difference. I called to get in and after just a few minutes with Dr. Vondra, I felt as good as new. This man knows his craft and his recommendations are focused on the best interests of his patients. Very kind and friendly staff. I should've read into all reviews before paying them and allowing them to max out my insurance. Every person I referred got the same speech and prescribed treatment. The person I was referred by got the same speech as well. They charged my insurance $100 a session. That session was 2-3 min getting "adjusted" and 2 more on a chair. There was no follow up after the initial plan was done to see if I had improved or not. Which since I was supposedly close to critical you would think it would happen. Nope, they just continued. I changed insurances and they didn't accept it. I realized after 24 + sessions and them charging a total of $3,000 (out of pocket plus insurance charges) I was still in the same shape I was when I came in. I stopped going. I am going elsewhere and am much improved. read more

I met Dr. Vondra at a health fair in 2013. I have been a patient ever since. Dr. Vondra and Karina are very kind and welcoming.They have cold water and current magazines in the lobby, but I don't believe I have waited more than 5 minutes to be seen. 3 months ago, I started going here. He gave me the "I need 24 visit" speech, then my last visit was a reexam.. what I dont understand is that during this reexam, he didnt even take new xrays to compare to the first xrays from when I started. And I feel worse than when I started. Debating on if I should even go back in the future. read more

Besides a great massage, there's nothing better for sore necks and backs than a good chiropractor. We had been going to Davis Chiropractic in Sparks for a few years and was fortunate to have found a great chiropractor in Dr. Joseph Vondra. He is a very genuine person who actually cares about his patients. My neck is pretty messed up from my football days and Dr. Vondra was able to help it fell better in a consistent basis. He also took care of my wife during her first pregnancy. Who knew proper chiropractic care can actually aid in the delivery process. The only problem was he opened it in Fernley, NV, about 30 miles east of Sparks. We stayed with Davis Chiropractic for the convenience factor, but it turned out to be a mistake. In the month that we continued to visit them, they went through two different chiropractors eventually settling on the owner, Dr. Davis. That guys got the personality of the gum on the bottom of my shoe. Even the receptionists from Vondra's days have left because this new Guy has such a piss poor attitude. He belittled his receptionist in front of customers, which is totally out of line. I refused to go back after two visits and dealt with a sore neck for months. Just recently, we decided that a half hour was worth it for good chiropractic care and made the trip out to Fernley. Dr. Vondra's new office is very new and clean. All the equipment is brand new and we got the familiar care that we were accustomed to. Dr. Vondra even takes care of our one year old and is very good with kids. We'll definitely stay with Dr. Vondra as long as he doesn't decide to move even farther away. read more

This is a hard review to make, because everyone in the office is so nice. I went to them around October after living with chronic back and shoulder pain. Referred by a coworker who raved. I had the initial consultation, and pretty much the same "diagnosis" my coworker had. If I had waited any longer, I would be going to a specialist & surgery. Same treatment plan (certain number of sessions, etc). Got a light adjustment to start. Was told my insurance covered everything, but about $600. Which they split into two payments. I paid excited to be getting out of pain. Every "session" was basically a total of 4-5 minutes. 2 with Dr & 2 on a chair. At first it was ok as I was going twice a week. I had doubts, but I felt it was part of the plan. Referred my spouse & he got almost the same diagnosis. He is less patient and immediately expressed his doubts. My initial sessions came & went, and there was no follow up. Just continued scheduling me. I switched insurances that they didn't accept & had to stop going. Just recently I signed into my insurance app & saw an outstanding bill for them in the amount of $100! For 1 session! A rushed in and rushed out session with the Doctor & then 2 minutes on a chair. I mean I wasn't in any less pain after the first 20 something paid for sessions & I would not value this service at $100 a week. That's insane. I was referred to another place that charges less and I don't have to go in frequently. They don't rush and it's a good amount of time. I should of read all the reviews and researched better (that's my bad), because it turns out a lot of people have had the same "diagnosis" and experience with them. Yes, the staff is incredibly kind and cheerful, but it still doesn't equal $100. Just do your research and shop around. read more

Expensive treatment plans and meh care. I felt like I never had a quality experience with the doctor. I always was rushed in and right out. The staff was always smiling but the care never felt adequate or like what I needed, I felt like I was paying for nothing except some "magic touch" and two minutes on a table. Went to Dr Vondra recently and as stated in a earlier review, this practice is out to drain your insurance to its maximum. He came at me with the 24 visit scam and wanted my part of the payment up front- $900 and the rest was going to max out my insurance. Stay far far away, something doesn't smell right with this practice. I went to another local chiro and he fixed me in two visits without the "24 treatment" hard sale. read more

I've been seeing Dr Vondra for a few weeks now. Not only is he a gentle Chiropractor he is compassionate and friendly. I've been in pain for years and have been hesitant on anyone touching my back. Went in because my nerve was pinched I knew this it had happened before. I went to a Chiropractor in Reno who took two visits and I was much better I could at least walk and get out of a chair. Was told that it would take 24 visits to fix me was provided paperwork to pay almost $1,000.00 now or I could break it up into 3 monthly payments. They knew my insurance would have a lesser copay once I received a referral from my primary care dr. Why would you ask for the money up front for 24 visits especially if you know that my co pay will be cheaper in a week or so. I have never been told to pay for 24 visits in advance from any chiropractic office. Two visits in and I don't feel any relief and they want to see me again today. I think I will be going to Reno to the office that actually does something I pay my copay and I am done. I do have to say though that these people are very nice but nice doesn't help my pocket book or my back. read more

Very professional and gentile to be sure. But seems to be driven to maximize what they can get insurance to pay. Came in for some back pain after over exertion. Got a strange performance about the good news is I don't need surgery, and that they can fix me with only 24 visits (which happens to match my maximum allowable per insurance). Then instead of my normal co-pay they would be happy to have me pay up front ??? or I could set up payment plan (with fees) for my treatment. Went to another doctor and back on my feet in 2 treatments. Watch out for this scam. read more
