I have an extremely high tolerance for pain, but the lower back pain that I walked into this office with last week was excruciating!!! The staff were so incredibly helpful and welcoming. They explained my medical insurance coverage, worked in a same day appointment, and provided such care and support that I felt i was amongst friends. After my first treatment on Friday, I felt relief Saturday morning. Now that I've had 3 treatments, I'm at 90%. I decided that I needed to let folks know about this office just in case they have a back issue in the Reno area. Have not been here in about a year and a half. Every time I did go, I used my insurance and paid a fee in cash. Fast forward to now. I get a letter in the mail saying legal action will be taken against me if I do not pay $230 that I owe. I never knew I owed any money, as I was never told that, reached out to, or anything of that sort. I paid every time I went & used my insurance. So with that being said, screw this place, my credit got screwed all because I needed my back cracked a year and a half ago and was unaware there were other fees I was not told about. This is literally the best chiropractor I've ever been to. Here was my experience . I broke my back when I was 14 and over the years if I pulled my back out , I would literally be in bed for weeks before I can walk again. I pulled my back out worse than I ever have and I run my own business so I couldn't afford to miss a day. I was very nervous to get an alignment in that condition, but I took a chance and decided to get aligned. My first adjustment with Dr. Berg almost completely fixed my back and I was able to go to work! By the second alignment I was 90% recovered and completely in shock that four days after pulling my back out, I was able to work again. The office is very clean and they are always on time with you scheduled time. Let me start by saying Dr. Berg is a nice man and his staff is too. I've been to quite a few chiropractors in this town, from exceptional to one who was a criminal (literally: he went to prison!) Heck, I spent time as a chiropractic assistant. So I do know a good chiropractor when I'm treated by one. Dr. Berg is your cookie cutter, same adjustment for everyone, basic chiropractor. Honestly. He doesn't tailor his adjustments to your needs, barely listens when you tell him your issues. I was having trouble with my knee, he would nod like he was listening, give me the standard adjustment and move on to the next patient, totally ignoring my knee pain. One could tolerate a mediocre adjustment, I guess, I can't. But my final straw came after one adjustment. I have fibromyalgia, and with physical therapy, light exercise, self care and massage, I can keep the pain mostly at bay. My last adjustment with Dr. Berg flared my fibro up so bad, I was in terrible full body pain for a week after. Yes, I know, some adjustments make one feel a little funky right after, depending on the area of subluxation (and alignment, and length/time of subluxation), but that always subsided for me by the next morning. I've never felt this bad after an adjustment in my life. That was the last time I saw Berg. I'll never return. If you think Berg is the best chiropractor out there, do yourself a favor and try another chiropractor, just once. You'll see what I mean. Need a name? His associate Chris McBroom is phenomenal. Their treatments are night and day difference. Dan Barlow is another exceptional chiropractor. Do it. You owe it to yourself. I honestly feel Dr. Berg is just in it for the salary. Sorry to say, because he really seems to be a nice guy. But nice doesn't cut it in the area of chiropractic. read more

Dr Berg has been my chiropractor for close to 10 or 12 years. He's really good and his staff is one of the best. He will not do stuff that's going to hurt you. I've been dealing chronic neck and upper back pain for half my life and the pain has become unbearable over the past couple of months. I had never been to a chiropractor before but last winter I threw my back out shoveling snow. It hurt to sit or stand. The only thing that worked was laying down. I went to see Dr. Berg and after a few visits I was pretty much back to normal and after a little while doing great. While there I mentioned to him that our 6 month old son was really struggling with reflux (spit up). He mentioned "body balancing" using the Arthostim. My wife and I took my son in and Dr. Berg was great with him. My son sat very still and it actually seemed to feel good to him. Two visits later and no more spit up. Couldn't be happier as we were getting tired of wardrobe changes after every nursing. Staff is great. Dr. Berg is great. The Doctor and his assistant are very friendly and helpful, I have some moderate back pain and after my first visit my headaches were gone as well as some of my Lower back and neck pain. I am definitely looking forward to my next appointment. The only negative about the practice is: 1. The hours are... different. North Hills Chiropactic to me is a life saver, been seeing dr Berg in past and he did an excellent job on my back. A few days ago I must have lifted something the wrong way and next morning I woke up with a frozen shoulder, pain like crazy and couldn't move my arm at all. I was thinking this might need surgery for sure but I got in and saw dr Alan Platt he adjusted my upper back and neck, right away the pain started going away and I could move my arm again not fully but was not frozen anymore. My second visit 3 days later dr Alan adjusted my back and neck again and now I am back to normal again full motion with my arm and the pain is almost completely gone.
