John the manager is useless. The store is packed with customers and he's standing in the middle acting liking he's busy. I watched him on the computer while he did nothing for several minutes. No 10 items or less check out, instead they have a flower check out for mothers day. Screw anyone who needs to get in and out fast as long as they can make as much money as they can on their overpriced worn looking flowers. Yes they have a self check out but I'm buying beer so they force me to stand in lines with people shopping for a months worth of food. They do nothing about the homeless because they are afraid of confrontation. The vons is a joke and should be replaced with a Ralphs or even better a Gelsons. read more

I was yelled at by the store manager because I walked in at 10:45 pm on Thursday November 2, 2023. She was extremely rude and unnecessarily vicious barking at me "THE STORE IS CLOSING." I politely asked her why she could not have said the same thing in a courteous manner, but she totally ignored me and pretended I did not exist. I have never been treated so poorly at any retail establishment anywhere, ever. This was by far the worst and most gratuitously heinous customer service experience ever. I have been shopping at Vons for over 25 years. Today was the last time I ever step foot in that or any other Vons store (or any brand owned by Albertsons; or any format owned by Kroger if their acquisition of Vons' parent company Albertsons goes through). I've never reviewed the grocery store before but I have received the best service from Terrell in your meat department. I've been a customer for many years and always had lousy customer service from the meat department in the past but Terrell has changed my experience. He is always helpful and even takes time to get to know his customers. Even when it's busy and multiple customers are asking him for help he is delighted to help them. She's awfully rude I have my service animals there and she literally came and said that there is no dogs allowed and walked away and I'm and I asked her who she is. I have been shopping at this VONS for almost 20 years. The staff are fairly nice and helpful if you ask for assistance. What I like about this location is that I know the layout, which means I know where to find the items that I need. I appreciate that they keep the store clean and they don't move items around like other markets, who will change an entire aisle on a whim. The produce is fresh. Some apples do have bruises but I feel like that's average everywhere else. The meat department is usually stocked, especially when an item like chicken breast goes on sale. I can always find ground chicken here which I prefer over ground turkey. This location carries the Cheesecake Factory brown bread in the bakery section. Also, this location has a Panda Express and they're the only location in the area that continues to carry the eggplant tofu dish. read more

Bought $250 worth groceries - missing $90 worth of food items including 4 cases of water - 2 pineapples and frozen chicken. Vons did not list these as unavailable so I would have paid if not calling. How do they miss 4 cases of water. Now I have a "pending refund" as it is under review. This is the first time this has happened in 2 years I have used this service. To this extent. If I can give the store -1 star I would! Every time I go into this location I see the store director/manager Julissa constantly yelling and degrading staff in front of customers. I ask the staff if they have reported her for harassment and she said no. I asked why she said because another staff reported her and their hours got cut and when they asked to have more hours they transferred her to another location. She said she can't risk her hours to be cut so she just deals with it but half the staff has quit because they can't put up with her. I enjoy walking in the store and seeing Brandi at the register. I know I'm gonna go home happy when I go through her line . She's always so friendly and kind and makes me laugh and smile. No matter what's going on with me. I know I'll be happy when I talk to Brandi. She just has a way of brightening your day and making you think of things that are funny or happy, she's just a kind wonderful person. I shop at vons all the time it was not until today I was planning on using their western union that I got a bad apple in the bunch.. The young lady had nothing but snappy attitude and even rolled her eyes at me more then once, and for the first time made me feel like not returning to the store. The store is quite spacious and neat, full of variety. I hadn't been to this Vons location and I was quickly reminded as to why. I was walking around picking up items to purchase. I saw a lady looking at the magazine which reminded me of looking for a particular one. I made my way over there and opened a magazine; a few seconds later a very rude woman looked me up and down and said very loudly, "Do you need help with something?" This Vons has the worst customer service of all Vons markets. Employees at the Vons nearby were very helpful. But not this one. e.i, I (I should say We) have raised the question many times why the Hawiian Rolls and Breads don't have expiration dates on their packages. How do consumers know when to discard? The register just said "Obviously THEY won't put them on the shelves if they are expired". A big WOW!!! She also said "we already told the Deli Dept about it". So I went to the Deli Dept to show them the Hawiian Roll package and the lady said "There's nothing we can do about it". "Talk to Mike, he is the Supervisor". "There's really nothing we can do". 2 ways I could deal with this. A. I don't shop at this Vons anymore or B. I will raise awareness AGAIN. This time on YELP. I hope the management will fix this asap. We love this store and we've been coming here for a while now. Please don't make us go to Trader Joe's or Ralph's just because of this. 12/07/2023 I was getting my nails done next door to Vons in Granada Hills on San Fernando Mission. I'd never been in this Vons. There was a great special on yogurt . At the register I had asked the cashier if she would verify the sale price on the yogurt. She said when I'm finished checking all the grocery. Her name is Stacie. Stacie started to bag my grocery and I asked her again, Stacie said " You waited until I got all the way over here to ask me that ".Then Stacie gave me a dirty look !! I couldn't believe what she had said to me. I said to her don't you speak to me like that I'm a patient here and she said to me you're a patient? I said to her that I'm a manager for urgent care and I meant to say a customer not a patient, I told her that you don't give customers dirty looks or smart remarks after I paid my bill I asked her where is the manager and she said he said register to so I went over there and I spoke with the gentleman. I think his name is Luis Luis. He said he was not a manager, but he was in charge for the evening. I told him what Stacey had said to me and how she treated me And he said he would speak with her and take care of this. Then Stacey came over to us and she gave me a filthy, dirty look and I told her I said do not give me dirty looks because I will go to corporate. I have never been in the store before nor will I come back. I was quite impressed on how lovely and how clean the store was and the different varieties, but the way I was treated, I really doubt I will be going back there. I want others to know how some employees treat customers. I did say to Stacey in front of that gentleman that was in charge. I said to her you've been here too long if you can speak with people like that, I've been on this job way too long then Luis, or the gentleman had said to her to go on her break and she looked me straight in the eyes and gave me the nastiest look and walked away. Now on the good note*** I was looking for the yogurt and I saw this young man in employee and I asked him where the yogurt was, he took me over to it and the price on it said $.99 it's usually 159 and I had asked him how what does that mean that I had to do scan something and he said no what do you need to do is download the app for Vons and this young man walked me through the whole thing he took his time he explained how it works and I wanted to mention his name is Michael or Mike he went way out of his way to help me and I wanted to acknowledge him as well as the incident with Stacey Mike could teach Stacey quite a bit. Being such a young man and for him to show so much kindness really meant a lot and he showed me his upbringing. This young man, Michael or Mike really needs some recognition I believe he's going to go a long way which ever Road he travels. I've been shopping here since 1997. I can't imagine the amount of money I've spent there. I have to give up Von's now because of their godawful app and Just4U coupons. Insane and a rip off. There is no cell coverage in there, so no checking and scanning all your items before you get to the register. Instead, I must waste 20 minutes checking it or else I AM going to have to pay $5.00 instead of $2 because I couldn't get cell coverage for my app to work. There are one or two cashiers I like a lot, but now I work nights, so I'm not used to going to the grocery store at 5 AM and the last cashier was SO rude. I spent 15 minutes checking my stupid coupons and one of them was buy one, get one free but the cashier told ME to go look. So all of my last minute purchases were lying there and she said, "Well, what we gonna do?" I told her she should have some bagger or someone check it. She just stared at me and I asked her if they have these silly look-for-yourself coupons, cashiers should have the info on what is free at the register. She said again, "What we gonna do?" So I took a picture of my items and walked out, got in my car, was infuriated and decided I was done with them. But I went in and took a picture of the buy one, get one free sign and left. I'll need it if I complain higher. I drove to Ralph's, purchased everything in the picture, and I'll never walk in this Vons again. They should treat longtime customers better. I hate that whenever I do order drive up they always pass off their obviously rotten produce to me (e.g. extremely soft avocados). Such a cheap move passing off their problems to the consumers. I've been a Vons customer longer than the people have been old enough to work and probably longer than they've been alive and their inability to use technology to serve their customers and holding the customer responsible for their lack of abilities is priceless... worthless. I will be shopping at this VONS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE! I was lost and so was my phone. I did not know where to go and didn't know what to do except call a family member. I tried every place and none of them wanted to help. The only chance I had was VONS. I went to VONS and asked them If I can use their phone to call a family member since I was lost. They were quick with it. It was a lady with orange curly hair, it was so beautiful by the way. She called her co-worker to help me. Her co-worker was so kind and helpful as well. She taught me how to dial and call. She let me stay as long as I wanted to as soon as I can reach a family member. She kept checking on me too, to make sure I was fine. I was there for almost an hour and a half trying to get somebody, finally I did. I just wanted to show that this store is a wonderful store, not only do they care about fixing the store, they care about the customers too. I always watch the cashiers ring my order up. It is amazing how often the scanned prices don't match the shelf or package prices. But few stores are as bad as this Vons. I bought 13 items last week and found overcharges on 4 of them. The managers claim they are all "accidents", but if that was true i think i would find undercharge accidents too. Nope, just overcharges. Did you know that if you catch Vons overcharging you at the register, you are supposed to get that item for free in most cases.? If the item is more than 5.00 you get a 5.00 gift card instead, (And alcohol, fluid milk and tobacco are excluded). I ordered the honey sriracha chicken skewers and they are so stake and have mold on them!!! I thought it was other did that may have got on it but turns out it's mold. What in the world! I order these all the time at other Vons and have never had this happen. I would have gone back and got my money back if we hadn't left. Next time I will be inspecting all my food before leaving. I actually like grocery shopping here. It closes pretty late and you have a good selection of groceries, snacks and healthy foods. I love getting Kombucha here because they have a lot more flavors compared to Ralph's or even Fresh N Easy. They actually carry a number of brands of Kombucha which I usually can only find at places like Whole Foods. They also have organic sections for fruits and vegetables and other foods. I even like the selection of cakes and other desserts they have and I've tried their rookies and some of their cakes and they aren't too bad! Definitely cheaper than bakeries and their big enough to share with a small party of people. There is also a Panda Express in here too. A lot of their breads and other bakery goods go on sale for $5 on some days. It used to be just Fridays I believe, but now I've been seeing them a lot more often. Definitely get a Vons rewards card here to take advantage of all the deals. It's free and you can score points as well. I think you may even save on gas too when you earn enough points. read more

I'm really happy with this Vons so far. I've been having bad customer service at Ralph's so I started coming here. Why I really did my review was because of Mark from seafood section. He was really nice and cut a piece of salmon for me. He didn't do a face or any annoyed gestures. Most people get annoyed when you ask for a little extra work. He was awesome. I'm really happy how they're constantly cleaning with the whole covid 19. They're definitely making sure people stay 6ft away and that makes me SO HAPPY. Pricing is too complicated. Sometimes you need to buy ten of a particular item to get the discounted price. The "deal" applies only to the exact item. If less than ten of that item are available, it can cost you considerably more. Even if you had ten and the checker only rings up nine by mistake, instead of paying less, you will pay a lot more. They have pricing deals based on sole item, all items must be in the same pricing category, only items in the "Buy 4 or More" category, Buy 5 or More", "Buy 10 or more", "Friday Only", "digital coupon", "10 for $10 digital deal", and so on. The last is new and particularly confusing. The customer has to present a "digital coupon" during checkout to get the special price. The items are labeled "10 to $10", with the word "digital" written vertically along one side. Besides being easy to miss the word "digital", it's unclear if this means that the price requires a "digital coupon" (it does) or if the pricing deal was just advertised digitally (e.g., on social media). The store personnel that I have talked to do not like the complicated pricing. They told me that several workers are needed just to keep changing the price labels, because these "complex prices" are changing daily. The customers must be paying for the added personnel somehow, either through higher overall prices, or selling personal demographic data. It could be worse. The next step may be dynamic pricing. Stay away from ordering Curbside pick up with them I ordered my Groceries the day before order wasn't ready at the time they promised the next day half of the order was missing I was over charged and was charged for something under just Groceries with no description of item bought and Items buy one get one free never received the second item. Finally after several calls to see were my order was I went to pick it up it took them 1 hour and 15 minutes to bring my order out horrible service . Not sure who's bright idea it was to save $24 an hour by removing two cashiers and replacing them with 4 "self check out" machines that either no one wants to use, no one knows how to use, or the large number of elderly people in the area cant figure out at all. Top that off with one or more of the machines breaking down coupled with the fact that you can't buy alcohol at them and you've got a $hit show of lines that block the entire front of the market. Last night there were literally lines wrapping around the isles from every cashier, blocking people from going from one isle to the next, and the self checkout machines line went all the way past the Starbucks and into the produce section. Disaster of pissed off people just trying to pick up a few items. For the first time in 4 years I had to park by the spots on San Fernando because the entire parking lot was full. I found it odd since it's not a holiday weekend or anything, then I walked in the store and realized that the lot was full because of how slow the whole process of checking out was. Everyone was in line! What a joke. Your staff are pissed off, your customers pissed off, but hey, you're saving a few bucks by replacing people with machines! I placed a call to Vons Pharmacy to ask about a prescription. Someone and many rings answered and asked me to hold. During the 10 minute hold, the phone rang again several times and I was immediately put on hold again. After this long repeating hold, see above, I finally hung up. Poor customer service.
