Everything I buy is double and more than everyone else. Self rising flour. $9.89+/bag - 4.99@walmart or 5.99 @Stater Bros. Feta cheese is 6.50+ @vons compared to 3.50+traders joes, 4.00+ Walmart. Gallon of milk is 5-6 $@vons compared to 2.99-3.50 Walmart,3.50 @trader Joe's. It all adds up. Everything is more expensive at Vons. Just not my items I listed. EVERYTHING!! Oh I bought only cilantro there today for 99/bunch. I've talked to 2 of your cashiers about the prices who tell me they don't even shop there. They go elsewhere to buy their food. I do have your saving discount with my number. Those are the prices I quoted you with that. I know I'm just one little person -and that you will not go broke without me. I am sharing my experiences at von's pharmacy. A great team of pharmacists, Bill and Chad. They are the best hard-working crew I have ever met. I've been going to them for three years now. They know me on a first name basis as well as I know them on a first name basis. They go out of their way to check orders or recheck or any questions I have always willing to stop and listen and help me I love the staff there and I wanted to point out the girls are great. Manny another staff member assisted me by delivering my medication because I had no transportation at the time. I never thought of doing that. Then I had car problems again and without him knowing he took it upon myself to mail me one of my auto medications by mail. It was the exact medication I needed that day to be filled. They go over and beyond the call of duty and are very hard workers. I just love them all. read more

I'm a big fan of Vons as a franchise - mostly because they offer cheap gas, but also their discounts on most things are better than most franchise grocery chains in the area. This particular store was big and easy to navigate. The staff was pleasant and slightly friendlier than the average grocery store experience, but it's possible I just went on a good day during the holiday season when everyone was feeling a tad more cheerful than usual. Speaking of which, this individual store is really into holiday swag near the store entrance, which adds to some Happy cheer. My only complaint is the same as with the Ralph's a few minutes up towards Northern Palm Springs, their fish section can be smelled halfway across the store, though it's a normal seafood smell and nowhere near as intense as at Ralph's. I'm always happy about a store that stays open til midnight or later, since I have night shift work and am out til the wee hours of the morning. read more

Stopped in to grab a loaf of bread. Seriously, that's it. I took me 20 minutes to get through the line at checkout because only two lanes were open, with like 20 customers in line. You know those "3's a crowd" signs that hang overhead? Well, you can ignore them, because clearly the store and employees/management ignore them as well. I was upset, but cool about it. When an employee from Starbucks (locate inside) pulled two customers from about half-way back from the front of the line and told them, "I can ring you up at the Starbucks register" the people ahead of those customers in line lost their minds. I could swear I was going to witness a riot (by a bunch of 50 or 60 year old people)!!!!! One guy threw his frozen items and rotisserie chicken into a nearby display and said, "To hell with this place, I'll never shop here again" and stormed out. I was just at Von's on Palm canyon dr. One of my purchases was at the deli. I asked for original chicken wings. Paid for all of my purchases got home only to find out they were spicy wings. Called the store no one would answer the phone. Hung up and called back. The phone kept ringing and no one answered. So much for your neighborhood friendly Von's. So now I am out of lunch and $9.53. We really like for their great selection of products. The deli and bakery items are great. The Hatch Chili Cheese is the best and they are the only ones that carry it and Margaritas hard salami. We have had to return the packaged fresh soup. The wedding soup meatballs were really strong porky and the chicken noodle, yuck. Mgr. Is really nice and said to go get another soup. I don't know whether they are understaffed, or whether the staff just doesn't care, but you can stand at the counter for quite some time and be completely ignored. Yep, it happened again. Overcharged. Last time, checker put in wrong code for avocados. This time, it's $5 Friday, and yet you have to buy 2 (Coke) products. If I have my math correct, 2 x $5 = $10. In other words, since I only bought one pack, I got charged FULL price. Either the checker was too lazy to tell me or Vons doesn't bother to train their checkers appropriately. I really wish I could give this Vons more stars. This store is like the underachieving child that you love so much, and you wish she could step up to her real potential. After a recent much needed $5 million renovation, this store is beautiful inside, and the views outside are spectacular. They even have fancy new plastic bag dispensers in the produce section! What killed this place for me today and the last visit was the meat and produce departments. The prepackaged meat shelf in the back of the store next to the butcher counter is about 12 feet long and very poorly stocked. The glass butcher counter only stocks seafood and pre-made items. With this configuration, I was lucky to get the last remaining cut of meat I was looking for, and it was not really the size I wanted. The produce department was very nice, but some of the produce we needed for the dinner we planned to cook was wilted and nasty. The lady that worked there was sweet, but she couldn't make the produce stop being nasty! At this point, we would have been better off having shopped at perhaps Ralph's in PS. When we went to check out, the lines were super long, so an employee approached us and directed us to a check stand he was opening. We thought that was so cool, until we realized he was not really a checker, and he knew not one of the produce codes, and couldn't find the pictures in the book they keep under the counter. Needless to say, it took us 20 minutes for him to ask the next checker all the codes and have her show him how to void the items he screwed up on. (I think he was a Vons truck driver or something because of what he was wearing) This points to a serious lack of talent on the part of management, because it was 6:30 - 7:00pm on a Friday! Wow! Vons just finished crying to the City of Palm Springs to let them put in gas pumps because business sucks at this site, and they will leave the shopping center if they don't get their way. They could put 10 gas stations on site, but that won't make up for their fundamental management flaws, and business will still suck if they don't make some changes to how they run the place. read more

It was a great shopping experience today. Nicholas was great!!! I had a price check question and just 4 u situation and Nicholas was there with a smile and showed genuine concern and helped me with my check out. The best part about his customer service is that he was smiling the whole time and helped me make the process to check out a lot easier and fantastic. Regular shopper at this location. Just check your receipts. Short story - had a rain check for item out of stock last week. Went in yesterday to purchase item (at rain check price). Checked receipt at home. Looked like it was about $3 - $4 off. Went in tonight to challenge/verify. Clerk (Lupe, usually very congenial) clearly didn't like being challenged. Said it's not $4. I said, fine. I'll Just accept what ever is correct. Turned out to be $3 plus change. No matter; right is right. No need to be resentful of shoppers keeping track of their payments. Needed gas, hit the pumps, did the card thing, ready to pump... and they were padlocked closed. Canceled transaction, left annoyed. If you're not going to keep the pumps open 24 hours a day -- which honestly, doesn't need an attendant (union shop or otherwise) -- perhaps one should turn off or down the lights, shut down the pumps, put up a Closed sign, a traffic cone near the islands, or a combination of all four. read more

this Von's store is the pits. Looks nice but the incorrect scanning and the attitude of the management staff is enough to drive somewhere else. The posted policy of giving you the item free if it does not scan correctly is a joke. Today I showed it to the store manager, Deborah Flynn, who first sent out a kid to tell me I had to leave the store first and then come back. What? Not my first time around the block so I asked to see her. Something about the 'Just for U' program not working right...whatever. She tried to give me store coupons and all sorts of attitude when the policy is free under $5 for one item. I just want them to follow their own corporate policy, 100% of the time. Also, in these health conscious times why would this PS store have no turkey sausage and no chicken tenders. On a Saturday no less. I have been a customer of this store for several years since moving to the neighborhood so it's fair to say I do most of my shopping here. I'm in the store most days. I stopped in to buy lotto tickets this afternoon (I seldom buy tickets so I'm not that familiar with the process). When I asked the clerk (who, by the way may even be the manager or assistant) if she could help me find the quick pick box on the form I was shut down immediately, as if insulted that I would even ask. I was shut down immediately. I told her all I wanted was quick pick. I then left and drove down the street where I explained what I wanted and I was immediately sold quick picks without hassle and without filling out a form. There I was told one doesn't have to bother with the form if all you're buying are quick picks. Evidently Vons didn't know that. If you're selling Lotto it should be mandatory to know how it operates and provide better customer service without attitude. read more

This place is horrible. It looks nice, but the people are straight assholes. Slow, inconsiderate, the security guard stares are you like a criminal as you walk in the store. The other night, we were in line and the cashier couldn't get the register to work, nor could the granny get her atm card, so she furiously pushed whatever button. The checkout lady actually forced us to put our groceries back in the basket, then immediately took other customers after us. No apologies, nothing. Then other customers went in front of us. This is a very nice located store close to my friends place and came to buy the groceries to make special diner for my friends. Good selection of cake for my best friends birthday. I like this Von's, as it is a nice location. The store offers most things needed to find at a grocery store. Kim--lead cashier---short spiky hair is on the ball, she had been an accountant so she is quick to count and do the money, and she talks enough to build relationship with shoppers but doesn't keep us waiting too long. One of best cashier persons I've seen at any grocery store. Most of employees have been friendly and helped when I asked. Don can be witty which makes the wait less boring.. Good job! read more

The store is poorly stocked. They are constantly out of items even after they have been reported. BUT the biggest problem is the ring up. They consistently make mistakes in their favor. Be sure to check your receipt before you leave. I have had 4 mistakes in the last half-year. Too many for it to be unintentional. read more

I am so furious with insta cart all the coupons I have loaded on my Vons account reward points that I used to get dollar amounts off all of that was used yet I never received that one dime of the credit I called Vons first and they won't put the credits back on my account all the reward points and InstaCredit won't give me back any of the credit They had me write a letter explaining why i felt i was owed any kind of a refund from them, so this is what I wrote to them. I load my vons rewards points prior to placing my order via insta cart. Vons shows that all the reward points were used. But I never received any of the credits which would have come off of any sale price that was listed. I used 5 reward points to get $7 off the total . I used these Vons coupons is what Von shows also. $1.00 off any baked goods $1.00 off any O Organic product $1.00 off any produce $1.00 off any yogurt .66 coupon to only pay .66 lb for bananas yet i was billed a hire amount. $1.50 Off Delizza Frozen Dessert This totals $12.50. That instacart owes me Vons also said it should show on the receipt that these credits were applied. Yet the receipt i received on line shows no vons credits were applied . But Vons said they were used. Vons will not credit me since they show that they were used. Yet I never received any credits on my order. So INSTA CART RIPPED ME OFF SO IF YOUR USING INSTA CART... YOU CANNOT USE YOUR VONS REWARDS THEY KEEP YOUR FUNDS YOU DO NOT GET THE CREDITS THAT ARE OWED TO YOU. read more

I have been shopping at Vons in Palm Springs for about 6 years. It amazes me that the entire staff recognizes me and acknowledges me. Makes me feel like I'm in a small town grocery store as opposed to a "Vons". Ivonne, I believe a manager, and all the other staff are wonderful. Whether I am at the deli counter, meat department or even the floral department every staff member has been professional and courteous! When in Palm Springs I recommend this store for quality of food and staff! read more

We went there last night a little but before closing. When we went to check out there was still 20 minutes until the store closed. We walked up and there was a cashier, a bagger, and a manger at the checkout. When we walked up, they kind of sighed and rolled their eyes and dispersed because god forbid, we needed somebody to ring us up. They asked if we wanted to buy paper bags without explaining that if we didn't, we would have no bags. We said no and as we were carefully grabbing our items to carry, instead of helping, the bagger just laughed at us which I thought was ridiculous. During checkout the cashier (Maria) and bagger were complaining how there was still 20 minutes left of their shift. If your job is so terrible and you clearly suck at customer service, maybe you should find a back of house position and be grateful you even have a job. Just a side note: the store was clean and stocked well but bad customer service will make it not worth the trip back. read more

The pharmacist was extremely helpful and pleasant. I had a couple questions about some over the counter products and he came out and helped me. When we checked out, Ivonne, a "supervisor" rang us up. She was rude, short with us, and barked questions about who was paying and seeing ID. Considering she is in a manager position here, she needs to change her tone when dealing with customers.
