Service was friendly, excellent; when the order was up, someone served it. Everyone was working smoothly. Food was superb. We went for oysters, had the shrimp dip which was complex, but a bit too hot for my elderly mother. Oh well. The main reason for the review is the single fried oyster my 83 yr old mother ordered. The moment she stabbed it with her fork, her eyes got big and she said" I can tell this is tender!" She grew up on the gulf coast, ate Galway oysters. Her first bite, she closed her eye and said it was the best she ever had. She told the waitress this, she swore she might not eat raw oysters anymore. She just wants this fried oyster. This is a great original take on seafood restaurants. The menu is changed quite frequently which is good to expose you to different things. However although the menu has changed they still offer a selection is prepared in a manner that you may be comfortable with. For example they had fish and chips but replaced it with a whole fried Seabass which was outstanding. Highly recommend a visit great restaurant small area great waitstaff. read more

Ohhhhh this little(very little) spot is amazing in every way. If you like seafood, this is your jam. We absolutely LOVE this place! They have a huge variety of fresh oysters every night. We love raw oysters and this place is quickly becoming our favorite! We also had a mackerel dish that was served in a tin with delicious oil. There was big, crusty bread to eat with it. So good! They also have good cocktails. I had one drink called The Starboard which had yellow chartreuse in it. It was so delicious! I also want to add that our server, Julie, was awesome. She came to our table quickly and told us we could get an order in at 5:45, before happy hour was over. Throughout our whole meal she was pleasant and friendly. We will definitely be back! read more

Great oysters and cool place. The staff are pretty knowledgeable about the different offerings which makes the place all the more better. It's a small place, but the food is really good and the rotating happy hour oysters is awesome! I've been a handful of times and have never had a bad experience. Although the oysters were exceptional, I was unimpressed with the pricey menu. They have $1 happy hour oysters however, with the size of the establishment it's almost impossible to get there in time. I went there for my birthday with my brother and girlfriend for the first time. The wait staff was amazing and very knowledgeable about there food and oysters(which is why we went there in the first place). The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable and there selection of oyster is by far one of the best in the state. We will be making this a regular stop for my birthday. read more

Been several times and really loved this restaurant However, the last visit was extremely disappointing. The restaurant was freezing due to the door not shutting correctly causing air to come in throughout our meal. The heat could not keep up. I had to wear my winter jacket the entire meal. Also, took way too long to get our final dish from when we placed the order. The staff apologized and took the item off the bill, but we had to leave without getting the item. Ordered the Chili Crab Spaghetti, a variety of West Coast Oysters, Fish Fry and a Mai Tai. Chili Crab Spaghetti definitely had a spicy kick that I was prepared for. I really enjoyed the flavor and would definitely order it again. The West Coast Oysters were good. I had been told to try the fried oysters, but didn't follow that recommendation this time around. I'll look forward to that next time. The Fish Fry (catfish) was good. Cooked perfectly. The slaw and blueberry muffin that came with it were also good. I didn't quite get the blueberry combo, but apparently it's a Southern thing. The Mai Tai was pretty good, but I'll have to see how it compares to the other Mai Tai on the menu. This is a munchkin size restraunt tucked away from the rest of trendy Ferndale. Went last night had a hours wait, which was what we were anticipating . No problemo, worth the wait. The decor feels like your inside a small boat. Our waitress Shannon was wonderful she took her time and went through the tapas type menu with us. Ordered a seductive Chilli crab pasta. 4 half *. Peel and eat shrimp 4****. Mahi 5*. Raw scallops and Washington Oysters these were the highlight. Like a taste of the briney fresh Ocean . Washed down by Scrimshaw Pilsner on draft. One of the managers came and spent 5 minutes with us conveying their vision. The level of passion at this place rubbed off . Will be doing happy hour soon. Even outside it was hard to hear people I was dinning with. If you have no choice but to eat here order the green strawberry ice cream and water. My meal at Voyager was a *terrible* experience! Grubhub told me my food would be ready between 7:10-7:20. I arrived at the 7:16, called, and was told it would be ready shortly. At 7:40, I call again and am told they're still working on it. When I point out it's now 20 minutes late, they tell me that they updated the wait time on their system but that it must not have synched with Grubhub when I ordered and that they were sorry. When I asked if they were going to offer any discount or anything in return for the wait, they said no but they were sorry. They also told me to order off their website, not Grubhub next time. I told them I had Grubhub gift cards so I needed to order that way. At 7:50 the food arrived at my car. The owner apologized again but offered no discount and said he hoped we enjoyed our food. I was hopeful, but when I got home and we tried it, we were even more disappointed than before. Tough lobster for 25$. For 21$ I got cold, soggy fries, tiny cole slaw, and the most oily fish and chips I've ever had. Plus the plastic containers they used for sauces had been touching the food and completely melted. The 7$ side of Brussels sprouts were tiny, soggy, and well below average. I will most definitely never order from here again and would hope the owner refunds our meal. It was terrible service, a horrible value, and worse food. My wife tried my fish and chips and said that Long John's Silver is better. I recommend avoiding. read more

Our experience here was comparable to that of a great NY restaurant: the food, the service, the ambience were all exceptional. We were most impressed by how the restaurant chose to handle the following situation: We arrived at the onset of a torrential rainstorm to be greeted by our amazing server (who never lost her smile or composure during the course of the evening). Outside, thunder rolled, lightening flashed, and the rain poured in sheets. Inside, we were surrounded by good music in a cozy atmosphere. Within minutes of placing our drink order disaster struck- the lights flickered and then darkness. The emergency lights kicked in and shortly thereafter, our drinks arrived. I find that when the drinks are good, the food will also be good. This was the case. At first we didn't think we would have the chance to order anything beyond drinks. But, the chef and kitchen crew worked its magic and were able to proceed with orders and serve those of us seated. We were treated to oysters, broccoli and burrata, swordfish and beans (perfectly cooked), crab, and chips and caviar. All were delicious. We ordered another round of drinks and enjoyed what felt like an intimate party. Thanks Voyager for an evening to remember. read more

While we don't expect a groaning board, we left hungry. 4 people, 8 drinks, hush puppies, steak tar tar, 12 Oysters, broiled fish (two portions) and peel n eat shrimp: $250. Altogether I only had 5 oz. of food. It was good, nevertheless. Vibe is OK, nice crowd, but small, and decor is amateur DYI ... homemade but not homey. Parking hard to come by. Great Mai tai. Service slow and disorganized: we ordered a particular Oyster as appetizer, and 25 minutes later were told that they were OUT; so we ordered a substitute, and it wasn't served until well after all other was served and gone. read more

Mixed review because of some spice combinations that didn't work with me. The place itself is cool. The oysters were very good, so was the spicy tuna and the cold shrimp. Tuna on toast was also great. What has put me off was the crab spaghetti ingredients and the seasoning of the scallop. But if others like it, be your own judge. read more

Girls night out. Reluctantly upon the recommendation of a friend tried Voyager last night. Not being a huge seafood fan I was not excited about it. However, I was very pleasantly surprised by the incredible fresh and delicious appetizers and entrees we shared. The Ginger kale salad, crispy tuna, hush puppies, and yes even sardines were delicious. The only dish that left a very bad taste in our mouth was the spaghetti. During this time of COVID, Voyager gets the takeout experience right. The menu has a great number of options which was appreciated, since many restaurants have slimmed down their offerings. Ordering was super easy. Food was ready when promised. And the food--my God was it amazing. While my first experience at Voyager was before the virus struck, this time was better, even though it was at our kitchen table. I had the crab toast, which was bright, fresh, creamy and crunchy. The mussels were delicious even though I felt the sausage *seemed* unnecessary and I was wishing for a bit more broth. The gem salad was great with a fantastic goddess dressing that I would buy if they bottled it. My husband had the salmon pate which was lovely and smoky and the steak frites entree which was super flavorful. It was pretty spendy for takeout but the standout flavors and the fact that I had enough salad and mussels for the next day made it worth the price. read more
