If you're wondering whether Sandbox VR can handle a large group of very excited 9-year-old boys…read more.. the answer is YES!! especially if Jared is there. We brought 11 rowdy boys and fully expected chaos. Instead, we had a smooth, organized, and genuinely fun experience. Jared explained everything clearly, kept the group engaged, and managed the energy with patience and confidence. What really stood out was his tact. A few kids became overstimulated, and he handled it with such calm reassurance and professionalism. He struck that perfect balance of being fun while maintaining structure, which is not easy with that age group. It's rare to see someone manage that level of energy so skillfully. Management should absolutely recognize him. He represents your brand beautifully. We will definitely be back!

This was a nice gesture. We booked our time and we returned 6 mins late. Then this was when we were told we are too late so we can get a store credit or rebook. The excuse was other people in our group has already started. We didn't doubt this at the time but they have a website to look up scores of the day and we were the only ones playing this game at the San Ramon location. Not sure why we couldn't play then if we were the only ones playing anyways. We rebooked for later the same day after dinner and arrived 30 mins early. It turns out we need to sign waivers and prep time before playing. This should have been basic information given to us or at least let us know we should arrive earlier than your booked time in order to play. Just thinking logically I would want clients to prefill these out prior to their reservations. This would create less friction at start time. The crew setting us up for playtime were very helpful though and after playing they gave us a nice recap experience of our game. This was a nice touch but I wish they would have told us how the photos would be used more clearly. I wasn't even ready when taking my photo and halfway through a blink. The kids liked the game play but adults didn't have a good time. It was dizzying and exhausting to play for me and my wife and $50 a person for such an experience seems high. Would probably stay away and try to convince my kids to do the same.

My kid likes this place and the memory lane games are much less expensive but you know you want to come here for the VR although Super Mario bros is awesome lol. It's just a lot to pay nearly $100 for 2 hours man. I'm probably just going to buy my own for what Im paying. It's only a couple Gs for the set up and I actually think that the setup that they have here is cheaper than that I think it's only a few hundred. So it would definitely be worth it to just buy it myself

They also wipe down the VR gear after each use with disinfectant wipes. The owner, Josh is super friendly and has great customer service. Now, let's talk about the VR games!! Beat Saber is my favorite game hands down! It's like fruit ninja and dance dance revolution in one! My 2nd time there, I did Beat Saber the whole time! There are other really fun games which can be multi-player and they're so entertaining. Memory Lane is really neat. They have all the old Nintendo games like Mario Kart and more. It's so cool to see those whole box TVs! I'll definitely be back and will bring my family and friends to enjoy as well!

Our game was the pirate themed Depths of Osiris (check out the preview vids on YouTube), and it was perfect for a team of an adult and two ten year olds. My boys had no trouble getting used to the VR gear they had to wear for the experience (a headset and two hand controllers - it was their first time). We had to cooperate to solve each room's puzzle to unlock a new room. Eventually, we got to the final scenario which was exciting and really required us to collaborate. The puzzles were well constructed and mostly understandable from a logic perspective. The graphics and sound were pretty decent (it's not super-high res like Cyberpunk) and matched the gameplay perfectly. We got some timely tips from the game master too, and cleared the puzzle with about a minute left on our 45 minute timer. The facilities are super clean and well maintained. They also have snacks and drinks which are nice to make the visit special for younger kids. My sons want to come back, and I do too. I also heard they are adding a physical escape room, so definitely something to look forward to.

I've been to Diablo Escapes twice now and have always been impressed by the customer service. Make sure you get there 15-20 minutes early so you have time to finish any waivers and get your packs set up for the room. There is an adjacent parking lot so you shouldn't have any issue finding any spot. You can easily book online and see what difficulty level each game is. If you've done VR or escape rooms before, you can probably start with intermediate. Each game will require some communication and teamwork to solve challenges or other puzzles. It can get a little hectic, so make sure you mesh well with your group (truly). The VR component really makes you feel like you've been transported to another place - be warned that it can make you feel a little queasy if you're not used to it, but the staff are great in making sure you are comfortable. They're quick to help troubleshoot if you get stuck or anything. Highly recommend if you're looking for a fun group outing. We went over to philz coffee after and then went to Bare Bottle Brewing for some lunch and drinks.

Excellent place for a family event…read more Our ten-strong family did the Prison Break room a couple of weeks ago. We booked a 4 pm slot on a Sunday afternoon (it cost $300) and were the only ones there, besides our host, a laid-back, helpful young gentleman. The room was a bit claustrophobic at first with the ten of us crammed into a tiny "Jail Cell" - we had an hour to "escape" before the warden returned, and I had to will myself to not stare at the clock counting down the seconds, like in the TV show "24." Fortunately, this wasn't our first rodeo, and remembering epic failures from escape room misadventures in the past, everyone just got to it - communicating loudly, solving puzzles and deciphering clues, which allowed us to unlock more puzzles and clues, which in turn led to codes and keys which opened fiddly little locks. Everyone got involved and contributed, from the youngest (8-year old) to the oldest (80-year old) in our multi-generational family. We had a blast, moving from room to room, asking for answers from our host when we were stumped, and making steady progress till we were free - with almost ten minutes to spare. We were all smiles when taking the obligatory post-escape room photo. The Toy Box escape room beckons. We will be back!

Stumbled upon this escape room just looking through Yelp and wanted to have some fun with friends! We have done a good amount of escape rooms in the past so I guess I have sort of standard when it comes to my reviews. I look at the staff, decor, room puzzles and overall experience. 1. Staff The staff was so amazing and fun! We came in very loud and excited and they definitely matched the energy. Everyone was greeting us with a smile and eager to explain to us the rooms. They were very thorough with the explanation and definitely tried to make it as immersive as possible. Super nice people!!! 2. Decor We did Toybox and Prison and both rooms had really amazing, immersive decor! It was something out of a movie. Once you enter the rooms, you definitely feel immersed and part of your role due to the amazing design and decor! 10/10 on the design for sure! I can tell not one single bit of effort went to waste when planning the designs of these rooms! 3. Room puzzles Cant say much here without giving away spoilers for the rooms, but I would say overall the puzzles were really engaging and tricky enough to make you sit there and think. You know when there's those puzzles that you spend too much time on and next thing you know a chunk of your time is gone? Yeah, one of the rooms definitely had that LOL Toybox has more interactive puzzles while Prison had more technical/thinking puzzles. Thats something to take account of when you're choosing what room fits your preference! 4. Overall experience Loved the overall experience! My group escaped both rooms with about 20 mins to spare in each. I definitely would recommend this for first time escape room-ers because theyre just super fun!! :)
