So sad it's taken me so long to try this place, considering I pass by it all the time. The unassuming salon is pretty big inside, with an entire side wall lined with pedicure chairs. The techs were super nice but my favorite part of this experience is the 15 minute massage that included after your pedicure. I got the deluxe pedicure, which comes with paraffin wax. I wish that my tech gave me a leg massage and that the paint job was better, but other than that, I enjoyed my experience. read more

I don't get my nails done very often so when I do I always hope it's a great experience. This time was not good and as this is considered a splurge for me it's pretty disappointing. I asked for a dipped manicure. However, I just received nail filing and dipped product. There was no cuticle trimming, no soak, no lotion and no massage. This used to be a standard part of a manicure, but maybe it's not anymore?? Idk, but I'm disappointed in what I received. It didn't take her long and she barely spoke to me. I had never gotten dipped before so I wasn't sure the process or how it would look upon completion. I showed her an inspo pic and I don't feel my finished nails represented it at all. If it were possible, I would give this business zero stars so one is very generous! Customer service was nonexistent for their "works" pedicure that was a whopping $50. The technician argued about the short length of my nails, and the fact that I like them short. She neglected to trim one whole foot but argued that she had already done it. She had not. Most places for the Works will at least have you in the chair for an hour and give you a relaxing pedicure. The two technicians visited with each other and were extremely distracted from the job at hand. This was very disappointing and not my first time, but it is my last time! My specific technician barked orders instead of requesting a move my foot in a certain position. She had an attitude from the beginning and was simply rude and made this whole experience and enjoyable. A complete waste of $50 and my time. My 80 year old father and I went in for pedicures. The person doing my father's toes was wearing a mask which made it difficult to hear her. My father pulled his hearing aides out and started putting them in his ears. The person doing his toes started laughing and saying, phone home, phone home, do you hear me? Hello? Hello? Phone home.... This went on for well over a minute. She tried to get the lady doing my toes involved but she said her husband wears hearing aids too. My father was so embarrassed and I was shocked this was even happening. I told her that this is considered a disability and flat out mean, not nice. She just looked at me with a blank expression. Needless to say I will never give them my business again, there are plenty of other nail salons out there that treat disabled people with respect. read more

I had a bad experience with acrylic nails a couple of years back and swore I wouldn't go back but their pedicures used to be awesome. This time I was getting the acrylic off and a shellac manicure and luxury pedicure. They run the water and the girl comes to my hand with clippers and a nipper. She chops into my nail and tries to rip it back taking my nail with it. Then decides maybe she will soak them since she has ripped my nail to the point of pain. It also means that because she started from the middle I will not have normal shaped nails. Now I'm committed though because I have to work and my nail has a big chunk out of it. The main reason I get pedicures is because the sides of my nails dig in. They can cut them out and it feels better. She proceeded to RIP my cuticles but not the areas of the nail that were dug in. After saying something 3 times I gave up. My manicure ended up being the combination of 3 people. When it was finished the girl touched my toes and said they were good to go. (I had been there for close to an hour since they put the polish on so I trusted her.) My toes were all jacked up on the big toe by the time I got to work. My shellac manicure was on Tuesday, it is Friday now. It has already chipped. What a waste of my time, money, and pain. I won't even bother saying something to the manager this time. Last time they miraculously charged me an extra $5 when I complained for nails that cost me $50 to have fixed. read more

I've been getting my nails done by Heidi at VS nails for years and she always does the best work! I've never left disappointed. I often am not sure what color I want and I can show her my inspiration pinterest and she easily puts together the perfect look. The owner is constantly adding to the salon and making improvements. It's clear that they are always thinking of new things they can do for their business. They have lots of options for dip or gel nail polish. I also like that I can get my gel manicure to match my pedicure. Their menu hads many options for any budget. Their prices are clearly listed and there is no confusion on the price. They do get busy so I recommend calling ahead and making an appointment. read more

So I got a gift certificate Fort Christmas for myself and daughter. We went to get manicures together and they turned out not so great. My daughters nails didn't need to be cut or anything, just cleaned and painted. After they were done, her nail polish was on her fingers and there were parts of her nails not painted. I got a full set acrylic and showed the tech the shape I wanted with a photo. She didn't touch my cuticles and the acrylics came out all different shapes and uneven on top. The paint wouldn't dry because she was so quick to paint over the layers so they ended up tacky and ruined. Overall I wouldn't recommend getting a manicure. I heard good things about pedicures there and the man at the front counter was extremely nice and welcoming. He's pretty much the only reason I'm not giving it one star. read more

I swore this place off years ago when the two techs doing mine and my daughters nails were pointing and laughing at my daughter during our pedicures. I don't know what they were saying but I let them know it was making her very uncomfortable. I decided to give them another try. It has been probably 7 years and I recognize that places can change. My first experience was fine. There was a nice young man working at the front counter and I got an SNS dip service I was pleased with. My usual nail tech at another salon is out on Sundays so my friend, her daughter, and I headed to VS. The vibe from the older gentleman at the front desk was very unwelcoming and the experience got worse as we were there. My friend's daughter waited 30 minutes past her appointment time to get her service and when she asked how much longer it would be, he was very short and dismissive in his response. While her nails looked ok, they were not what she asked for and one was crooked. They had quoted her a charge for the picture and my friend showed the man (who I found out was the manager, Sonny) and said I didn't get what you said you were charging me for. She showed him again the photo and he said "if you don't like it, don't come here"! There were several people at the desk and some of the nail techs were embarrassed by his behavior. Mine in particular apologized to me for the way he treated my friend. I was embarrassed for suggesting the place to her and once again, will not return. I've been to VS Nails a handful of times since moving to Marysville. From my first visit they've been consistent with their work, friendly, and welcoming. The shop is clean and spacious, never too packed, and we've never had to sit and wait for our service when we've made an appointment. They have given my boyfriend and I amazing pedicures and manicures and talk with us the entire time. After the pedicure we always get to sit in the full body massage chairs which is like the perfect ending! I went today for a full set and I'm in love. I took a technicians recommendation while here to try both dip and shellac for a longer lasting option and then I had 6 nails chip 4 days later. A different lady that fixed my nails seemed angry speaking with her co workers. She kept saying dip shellac dip shellac to all her co workers without explaining to me what the probelm was. She then said you shouldn't do both. I said well someone here recommend it to me. She left my nails sharp as well. I felt like it was my fault and I tipped her out of guilt for fixing them. Then my 2 nails chipped on one side again another 4 days later. I went in again and felt them all staring at me not really making me feel welcome, more like i was a nuisance. She then proceeded to file my thumb nail down way too far where the nail bed cracked behind the nail and she filed away the chipped polish until she couldn't file any more and said all done! I said; It's chipped further down then you are able to file. why don't you re dip them?? She then just touched it up with polish. I tipped well the first time and dont plan on ever coming back. I will no longer refer people here. Bummer, they used to be so kind and didn't have that negative energy or making you feel guilty for their poor job. I showed a picture of what I wanted and she did completely different style of nail. She didn't want to change them when I asked her to. I went to VS Nails for the first time a week ago because my fiancé loves getting pedicures, and he was wanting to use the $5 massage chairs. This chairs are free after a pedicure, and are amazing. The pedicure went well, nothing overly luxurious about it. This weekend I went back into for a full set of acrylic nails. I'm not impressed. The lady was very nice, but that's the only positive thing I'll say. The nails are too thick, uneven, and crooked. The nail polish was obviously old and clumpy. She pushed my cuticles back either her fingernail (not a cuticle tool) and then didn't trim any of the excess cuticle or dry skin. Won't be going back for acrylics. read more

I called to make an appointment since then place I'd normally go to was closed. I explained what was wrong over the phone and the estimate was around $25 for a fill $3 for each broken nail and $10 more for shellac. The quote for a pedicure starts at $25 and you can upgrade for a higher price. I got to my appointment 30 minutes early so I could see more what they had to offer. I was given a clip board with so much choices of service and i was told by the greeter that i needed a new full set of nails. I told him I called and he told me ok lets have the technician see what needs to be done. I've been here before for my pedicure but have never done my nails here. To me the nail technician was either not feeling well or something was bugging her. I rarely see nail technician with nail polish stain on their uniform . The places I've been to are dressed presentable. I had to mention that what she was doing with her dremel was making my finger nail hot. I also have never had a technician who nail glue the underneath of my finger tips. Later another drill bit that was very pointed was used to scrape away whatever was that she glued under my fingertips and I told her that has never been done to me before and she said and now you did... I went on to do my pedicure and Ni is the technician who did my pedicure and the foot massage was wonderful. I didn't even bother to ask what was the name of the nail technician because I now know that the throbbing pain my finger is having is not worth coming back here. It's just sad that things turned out this way. This place seems to have a pretty good setup for a relaxing chair massage. If I could mark negative stars I would!!! The first time I went here I met a friend for her first pedicure. It was lovely, however I ended up with a foot FUNGUS! I swore I'd never go back. But that was a few years ago. Recently I was invited to meet a few friends there and I thought, I'd give VS Nails the benefit of the doubt. Nope! I paid for the top notch pedicure. It was awful. The technician left me with cold towels on my legs for over 20 minutes! She waited only seconds to apply a second coat of polish, which of course was not dry ended up smearing off No cuticle care. Even worse when I called to talk to the manager he was never there apparently. I will never go back there, neither should you. Do not waste your money. read more

Went here as 42 weeks pregnant with my husband as a way to pamper ourselves one last time before baby got here. BIG REGRET. I had shellac on my toenails from another salon. Rather than remove the old shellac polish as most salons do...soaking in acetone with a cotton ball, foil etc... she did it the fast way by just scraping it off and ripping my nails.I should have made her stop sooner because this is what my big toes look like now :( she said she didn't know what to do after scraping away when one chunk still wouldn't come off... i told her just to stop and paint over it. It was so painful and horrible. Since I had my baby In October I haven't had time to deal with it until now. Now I can't put socks easily for fear of my nails tearing more so having to go see a podiatrist at the end of December. Then instead of taking accountability... they blamed my previous salon that they shouldnt have put shellac on my toe nails because they were too thin. I've gone for years over and over to other places before and never had any issues. Will never go here again and told my family who are regulars there not to go back either. I hate leaving reviews, I really do, but the experience I just had here was absolutely horrible and I can't stop thinking about it. I regularly come here for pedicures and getting my eyebrows waxed, they're conveniently located close by and I can generally get in and out as quickly as I need. That being said, today I came in for eyebrow waxing only and waited for a good 20 mins. Someone came in after me and I overhead her saying she needs her eyebrows done, too (this information is important regarding the rest of my experience). I finally get put into the room after the woman comes up to me asking if I'm the one getting my eyebrows done. She's doing the usual, cleaning up my brows and then all of a sudden she starts to wax my upper lip. In my head I'm thinking, okay... I just checked off "eyebrows", my paper must have gotten mixed up with the woman after me, I won't make a big deal about it. Side note, I typically clean up my own upper lip because I have a medusa/philtrum piercing (the one on your Cupid's bow) and I'm relatively sensitive to a lot of things and *anything* will irritate it. I didn't think it would be a big deal since generally for upper lips, they wax just the sides, right? Wrong. She slathers the wax all over my piercing and continues to put the strip over it and before I can tell her to stop before she accidentally rips out my lip piercing, she does it anyway. There is still wax all over my jewelry as I'm writing this and I've washed it twice. She's asking me what's going on and I told her I didn't know she was going to wax my lip. She shows me the paper and I told her about three times that it's not my name and I didn't request this. I'm assuming she got frazzled because she then disregards fixing up the rest of my brows and doesn't clean up the remaining wax on the sides of my face. If that wasn't bad enough, she puts on massive amounts of the cooling gel they use after waxing and puts it in and around my piercing. I'm sure if this was a new piercing, my lip would be infected in two days. I'm so heated by the time we're done but she's apologizing and I don't know what else to say. I couldn't even explain how much angrier I got when I was expected to pay for both services (eyebrow + lip) when we were done. To be fair, if the situation with my piercing didn't happen and the waxing was handled with better care and better results, I would've paid for both services and chalked it up to be a happy accident. But to pay for a waxing that I did not ask for, and go through that awful experience? Ridiculous. I'm leaving 2 stars because I've been coming here for the past year or so with no problem but after this and how inconsiderate they were, I won't be returning. read more

Not once, but twice! This is not the first time I've had problems with my nails after visiting.. The manager told me to "try a different salon, maybe they'd do a better job." The salon has a very strong chemical odor which gave me a headache through my mask. The nail technician did not sanitize her tools before or after giving me a manicure, which grossed me out. The manicure looked okay but the technician didn't notice chips in my nails and just painted over the damage. I made the mistake of getting an eyebrow wax as well. The waxer completely removed the arch and all shape from my eyebrows, leaving me with two thin straight lines like this: - - I visited two other salons afterwards who told me the job was so horrible they couldn't salvage them, so we had to totally remove them. I had to pay another salon to fix their mistakes. Unfortunately due to hygiene and the quality of service, I can't recommend this place at all. Definitely avoid. read more
