I have been going to this place for acrylic nails for a while purely based on the location as it is close to where I work, however to be honest I am not impressed. The tech does a decent job on my nails, but they must be using a cheap acrylic as it yellows quickly. When I've asked for two tone polish (a different colored tip) they've told me is wasn't possible, when Ive had it done at several other places on a regular basis. .The sign on the building says "walk ins welcome" but when I've tried to "walk in" they have told me they don't have time and to come back an hour or more later. So walk in service isn't really available.. The manager is rather short with her customers and I often feel like a nuisance rather than a customer. It's not all together terrible, but I wouldn't recommend this place to a friend...
3/3/14 Edit
I will not be returning to Tricycle Nails... Ever. Went in one time (probably 6 months ago) and wanted to cancel my appointment because I left my debit card at home. At the time, the manager kindly told me that I didn't need to cancel, she would do my nails and I could come pay when I came in next time. I felt bad about not being able to pay right away, but I had them do my nails and came about 3 days later and paid, and have had SEVERAL appointments since then.
Fast forward a few months... I decide today that I want to try Schellac (sp?), and being that I had some time at lunch and they are close to my work, I will give them another shot. All was well until I went to pay. At the counter the manager runs my card and says I never paid for that time she did my nails and didn't charge me. I replied that yes I had came in a couple days later to pay and she says "NO! You didn't." As she flips through the pages of her calendar she points at someone else's name and says "See! No you didn't!" After she saw that I was not going to back down, she said "but it's ok..." and dropped the issue...
Now, I know for a FACT that I did pay (and if I wasn't so sure I wouldn't be posting this). But regardless... Calling out your customers in such a manner is highly inappropriate and not a good way to do business. An acrylic fill is what... $13.00??? It certainly wouldn't have broke my bank account, but her accusatory tone put me on the defense, and has left a very sour taste in my mouth.
I have heard several other complaints regarding the service in this salon, So I guess it's just time to find somewhere else to go.
Hope this helps someone else from an embarrassing experience like mine... read more
