So I went to VT nails quite a bit before the pandemic and was satisfied even though they were pricier than my usual spot. The owner was able to do any ombré nails & designs that I showed her. Fast forward to this week. The total price for a full set and to cut and paint my toenails was $95! LOL! They charged $15 to cut and paint my toe nails with no design or anything. That's always been a $5 service across the board in my experience. Any-who, that's not the part that made me fed up. I showed this chick about 5 designs and she said couldn't do any of them. I don't know if she was lazy or incapable, but either way, go back to cosmetic school and increase your skill set or something. She couldn't do ombré, she couldn't do marble, she couldn't do a matte & foil combo. I wanted to leave but I needed my nails done in a pinch for the wedding. The matte that she did do is lumpy (ridges) and looks like it has nail dust in it. Some are crooked, I asked her to fix them, she tried but incapable. Also, they increased prices due to COVID protocols. It's a scam y'all. All they did was put up some acrylic barriers. I didn't see them do any extra cleaning. I don't mind paying a pretty penny for some fire nails, but $95 plus tip for mediocrity is disappointing. read more

I stopped into VT nails last minute to get a manicure for an upcoming performance event and everything worked out perfectly. I was seated near the front with a sweet lady named Kelly. Business was steady but I didn't have to wait to be taken care of despite being a "walk-in." I asked for "ombré pink and white" nails and showed her a photo, and she did exactly that. I was very pleased with how it turned out. My nails held up for my performance event and stayed looking nice for much longer than the recommended time to go before needing a fill (I wasn't able to make it back in for a fill within a couple weeks since I was traveling post-show). The shop itself is simple and clean. One drawback during my initial appointment was that somebody was yelling on the phone outside the door for several minutes, making quite a disturbance, but it wasn't the fault of the salon employees...it was just unfortunate that both the employees and customers were disturbed by the loud yelling for several minutes. Other than that, the salon itself was pleasant and the staff was great. I've been back and will continue to return as long as my nails look this fab. read more

First time here. Gina did my pedicure and she was a sweetheart and did a wonderful job! Kelly did my acrylics and gel polish. She shape is beautiful but I think she forgot to put a top coat on my right hand. I didn't realize until I was gone that they are kinda sticky and the other hand isn't. She also did my brow was and they came out gorgeous. Aside from that mishap, I will be coming back. Guess I'll just have to make sure she does a topcoat for both next time read more

So. I literally just polished my own nails. In an empty salon. With 4 available techs. I walk in for a pedicure and polish change on my nails. As I walk in, I get sized up and directed to the sad selection they have of colors. I pick a color and sit down to get started. After asking for a polish change on my nails MORE THAN 3 TIMES I proceeded to take the polish off myself and put my own top coat on. Every time I asked, it was like the owner told everyone not to do it because their would be conversation but then no one would move. The owner Kelly is so damn rude, I understand why it's Saturday at 1pm and there's NO ONE HERE. I feel like this can't possibly be their way of doing business and that this must be a front for money laundering or something illegal. Anyways. Very impressed with how CLEAN and PROFESSIONAL this salon is. My sister lives in San Pedro and every time I visit her I like to stop by VT nails. I recently stopped by their salon post-COVID and they have protective barriers between clients and employees and hand sanitizers set throughout the salon. Today I got coffin with gold flakes. I cannot stop looking at my nails. Every finger is perfect. I highly recommend coming here if you want your nails done right! Hands down best looking salon in San Pedro. read more

Awful place to go for nails. Ridiculously over priced. I paid $75 for a basic pedi and acrylic gel nails. The acrylics came out lumpy, they were not painted fully to the nail bed and they were miss shaped. My pedicure was ok at best. Lady made my nail cuticles bleed bc she was digging so hard. I came across VT Nails one night after hours of being frustrated that no other salon was available or understood what I wanted. It ended up being a huge blessing in disguise because I was introduced to Kelly and her coworkers who were kind and (most importantly) did a FABULOUS job on my nails. This was my first time trying out Gel-X and I was nervous and indecisive but Kelly walked me through the process very patiently, was very precise with every nail, and made sure I would be happy with the end result - which I definitely was!! To this day, I don't trust anyone else but Kelly to do my nails and I have already referred 2 friends of mine to VT Nails and they have also been very impressed by their entire experience. I LOVE coming here. I've been coming here for the past four months and every experience has been wonderful. It had been 10 years since I had been to a nail salon and was apprehensive about spending money to get my nails done. I decided to go with "gel nails" because I didn't want acrylic and I wanted something that was going to last. I hate the look of chipped nail polish and I didn't want anything that was going to chip in between visits. I love the gel nails. They are durable and absolutely do not chip or lose their shine in between visits. I would not go any other way. For my pedicures though, I just go with the regular polish as they last just fine with little to no chipping. I've seen a variety of girls there and they are all fabulous. I can't recommend this place enough. I'll be going back this week and I'm looking to try a fun new color ;o) read more

Came here after school today for a fill since my previous nail salon was a bit too far to drive on a regular basis, and asked for my nails to be trimmed back. They were trimmed and shaped to the exact length and shape I asked for. Kelly replaced my thumb nail because my natural nail had separated from the acrylic and was efficient and good with the drill (a few nicks but nothing out of the ordinary). This place does a great job, I've enjoyed coming here for the past 2 years. I had a hiccup the last time I visited this place. I did not receive the correct change the last time I was there and I was surprised at how quickly the owner was trying to question how much I tipped the culprit. I was hoping it was a simple mistake... The owners response was initially distasteful, but after I made it clear I didn't want my money back she offered me a one dollar discount? My thoughts on the situation is if the staff needed the money so bad that they had to steal it... well they could go ahead and have it. I haven't returned because I was expecting an a simple apology, which I did receive after being told I didn't tip enough... the tip was all the money I was returned which was less than I should have received. I've been coming to VT nails for about a year and I usually go to whoever is available. Most of the time I'm pretty satisfied but the last two times that I've been there the person who did my Mani/pedi seemed to have no clue what she was doing. The last time, the lady kept trying to cut the sides of my nails, I don't have ingrown toe nails. There's no reason to do that. Then the girl today did the most horrible job. Not only was she also cutting up the sides of my nails but she was the using the clipper and scrapping up my nail. . I'm very disappointed with my last service here. I was a loyal customer for several years and left multiple 5 star reviews for them (which I deleted). I recommend my good friend to join me in a pedi and mani. The nail techs were very rude to us. As soon as they finished our nails they told us we couldn't let them dry in the salon because of the new regulations. I asked her "how many people are allowed in the salon" and she said, 10. There were only 5 of us and zero customers waiting. So both of our nails got ruined getting into the car. You would think they would take care of a good client that brought them a customer to let our nails dry especially since it was slow. Of course my friend's nail polish was ruined getting in and out of her truck. Not hard to believe when you have fresh nail polish on. I spoke to the manager Kelly and told her that the techs kicked us out immediately after with fresh wet nails. Kelly agreed this was her fault because she told her techs to make people leave after they were done with their nails and for customers to go dry them elsewhere. However there were only a total of 5 people in the salon and this would not have broken salon guidelines during this pandemic and we could have dried our nails rather than be kicked out so abruptly and rudely. Kelly agreed to have some one fix my friend's nails right away and so my friend drove down there and the tech was rude and blamed her for her nails being ruined telling her "I told you this would happen" At this point, my friend did not want to wait for her nails to get fixed because she was being blamed for this and just wanted her money back. Kelly begged her not to ask for her money back and let her fix her nails instead. My friend ended up waiting to have them fixed and they finally let her dry her nails in the salon while not breaking guidelines because there was still under 10 people in the salon at this time. This was such a waste of time for my friend and I and could have been entirely avoided. To be continued.... Kelly your response is very much immature and clearly shows how rude your customer service is! Like I mentioned to you on the phone Gina had tons of attitude and rolled her eyes at my friend asking a simple policy and procedure question on your equipment sanitizing process. Your employees were rude to us many times throughout our experience. Put yourself in my friends shoes....You told her to go to the salon, right that second implying she's could get her nails fixed immediately. Of course my friend would be frustrated if she was told to have to wait an hour for them to be fixed when we couldn't wait a few mins to have them dry. She's not a degrading person nor disrespectful. Your staff made her feel very comfortable so please don't make up lies. She requested a refund for only her mani, not on the pedicure. She paid for a service that wasn't completed properly and was very unhappy with her experience which is your salons fault. No hers! Your fault!!!! If you really took pride in your business you would go above and beyond to make your customers happy! But you don't so that's why your salon only has 3 1/2 stars lol read more

If I was judging purely on how my nails came out I would give this place a 5/5 - the manicure process itself was great and my nails look beautiful! Prices for mani-pedi ($25) is also great; super affordable. Reasons why I give it a 3/5: a) It was so HOT. Now I understand that not all places will have a/c but all they had was one fan that practically only hit the middle area of the salon. As someone who was sitting in the pedi seats, I never felt any of the air and by the middle of the process I was sweating really bad and was really hot - making it hard to relax. I would reccommend either getting more fans or at least finding one that rotates b) The massages from the chairs were too rough - so rough that the next day my back is in pain. I had it on the lowest setting and still it was too rough. Granted, after 10 minutes I should've turned it off, but I didn't think my back would hurt so much the next day. If I'm looking for a place to strictly get my nails done I'll come back; but if I'm looking for a place to be pampered and relaxed I'll go elsewhere. read more
