We rented house called Going Coastal in St. Augustine for a family gathering. We had 90 year old twins with us. The upside is the house is in a fabulous location, is very beautiful and was large enough to host our family reunion. The DOWN side is that there are no lights at night to navigate from parking area up VERY steep steps to the front door. Did I mention we had two 90 year olds in our party? Yeah, it is pitch dark and extremely dangerous. I called to ask for help with lighting and with multiple apologies was told someone would call and come out to fix. I was told the same story again when I called on first, second, and third days and was placed on hold multiple times and then given the same story day after day. Guess what? No lights!! EVERYONE I SPOKE WITH AT VTRIPS WAS SO NICE AND WELL TRAINED TO APOLOGIZE "FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE" AND THEN DO NOTHING. All words and zero action so be warned. The grill on the deck hasn't worked in a very long time and all knobs are rusted closed. They will act as if they don't know, will apologize again and again and will do nothing. I would not have wasted time on hold with VTRIPS if they had been honest up front and just said we hear you and will not be doing anything about it. read more

I received a lame response on 7/21 and posted the following: Dear Business Manager (Steve M.?), I am certainly not frustrated, however, I am not happy about being RIPPED OFF by Vtrips, dba Vacation Rental Pros, dba Maui Rental Group. Your comment regarding "...our standard policy..." dealing with refunds is not material as the ACTUAL CONTRACT I signed does not allow you to move or otherwise change the stipulated reservation dates I originally booked. You can offer me the option to change the dates but I am under no contractual obligation to accept - I didn't and don't accept your offer. Therefore, the contract is void and you are contractually and legally required to refund 100% ($4600) of the money I paid you. Notwithstanding the legal obligation to return my money, there is certainly a moral and ethical imperative to do so. During the course of the Covid pandemic (still ongoing), reputable companies such as airbnb, vrbo and homeaway (your competitors) have refunded 100% of renters monies as a gesture of goodwill and sound business practice. Vtrips dba Vacation Rental Pros, dba Maui Rental Group has chosen the alternative business practice of ripping me off. Vtrip made my vacation stay horrible. They made errors and changes to my reservation that left me, my husband & 3 small children in the street no place to stay. I requested a half or full refund and all they refused. I need Mr.. Steve Milo the CEO of VTrips review my reservation and to correct the mistake his company made. This is what happens to us from the 1st day arriving to Florida problems after problems moving around from Hotel to Hotel due to them. This company made terrible error for us even in the last night you left us in the street looking for a hotel on our last night before we go home to Germany. took a trip with my wife to treasure island and the property was managed by VTrips. The place was clean and had a door code which was nice so we didnt have to go by the office to pick up keys. The ladies in the office were very courteous and helpful as we had an issue in the unit but it was fixed very quickly. Would definitely recommend read more

While most travel related companies are being reasonable and flexible about cancellations during this world-wide pandemic, VTrips is being really terrible about it. We have a reservation in late April and they're not offering cancellations, only rescheduling. And you have to do this within a very short amount of time, for us it's 10 days. And if the dates you pick are more than your current rate you have to pay the difference. So they get to make money off your misfortune during this time. I was already frustrated with them when the cabin we booked and paid for became "unavailable" and to get another similar cabin we had to pay more. They clearly don't care about customer service. There are better companies out there, don't book anything through them. read more

I would watch out before renting from this company. I was looking to rent a house in St Augustine from them and wanted to make sure there was a bedroom on the main floor for an elderly couple. May 2020, I tried booking online but due to COVID-19, the site would not allow me to book. I called and it was because my check-in date was still under the state order for no short-term rentals. Vtrips made my reservation for one day later and charged my credit card. That was Sunday. By Friday, they left me a message that due to COVID-19, they had to cancel but would put my money on file for future use. I think not. So I called, waited 30 minutes on hold, and after explaining to them that this was a business trip (I'm building a house in Florida), magically my reservation was restored. The house was a dump. Said 2 king beds; only one was a king. Rotted wood. Old mattresses. Ceiling stains from water damage. At least it was clean. No response from them. read more

I have read all the other reviews and I am here to tell you this is not the experience I had. We had an issue and we needed to cancel. We were within the 48 hr cancellation period. It took one phone call and I spoke with a very sweet lady who took care of the cancellation without any issues. Following the process and calling them within the 48 hr window of cancellation worked perfectly for me. I appreciate VTrips and the super nice lady I spoke with for making it easy. We rented a big cabin in the Smokies for a big family vacation through VTrips from JACKSON MOUNTAIN HOMES. It offered all amenities with the most important to us "INTERNET" for business reasons. First off, for the entire stay of 6 days ( arriving Sunday afternoon) we never had internet but also the TV in kids room didn't work, the Master bedroom door appeared to have been kicked in and the whirlpool tub didn't work. We had contacted JACKSON MOUNTAIN HOME"S about the issues twice on Sunday and was told they would be addressed. The 2nd call was me calling them because I received a email from them with our password (which we already had). I called them and told them that we had the password but the message we would get said connected without internet (go figure) and asked to have these problems fixed. They said they would take care of it. Nothing happened that day so we called them on the 2nd day (Monday) and expressed how we wanted these problems fixed, MAINLY the INTERNET 1st and foremost, and 2nd, the door on the Master bedroom as there was NO door jam or latch and you could see right through the 1 inch crack in the door. No one showed up. We went to the office the next morning on (Tuesday), this time not happy at all because my Son would have to drive somewhere to receive internet to do his business, and we wanted the master bedroom door fixed. They once again said we will have someone come out and repair the problem with the internet and door that day. They also said a manager would call us within 24 hours. Around 2 o'clock that afternoon a person showed up and repaired the door. Then 2 guys showed up to repair a TV in the theatre room (WE NEVER once mentioned the theatre room TV to them, and had NO problem with that TV). We told them the problem was with the TV in the downstairs bunk bed room, the one the kids were using. They told us the repairman for that TV and the internet would be there in a hour or 2 at the latest, but no one ever showed up. Once again we drove down there (Wednesday) morning and this time wasn't nice at all and demanded compensation, they again told us a Manager would contact us within 24 hours. NO CALL! They also PROMISED they would have the INTERNET problem resolved that day so my wife and I stayed at the cabin to be there to advise the repairman what we needed because we no longer TRUSTED anything that JACKSON MOUNTAIN HOME"S said. NO ONE showed up. We tried calling on Thursday morning to once again express our complaint's but was hung up on. Who treats a customer like this after spending 2300 dollars to rent a premium piece of property "DREAMSCAPES"? We are back home now and called them Monday. The Customer Service Rep apologized and said she would once again ask a manager to call, but no one ever called. This morning (THURSDAY) practically a week later, WE got in touch with a manager. Result's? Not even worthy of wasting my breath on! I am here to tell you, I WOULDN"T recommend VTRIP"S or JACKSON MOUNTAIN HOME"S to my worst enemy. If this property was mine I would be yanking it out from under JACKSON MOUNTAIN HOME"S and hire someone else to take care of it. Also, if I was a owner, I would be doing "pop in" inspections to make sure my PROPERTY is maintained properly! I will PERSONALLY tell everyone I know who goes and stays in the Smokies NOT to RENT anything from JACKSON MOUNTAIN HOME's! read more

We stayed at Ocean Paradise in St. Augustine. The description of the property lead you to believe it had beach views and was actually a walk out to the beach. This was far from reality. There are sand dunes behind the property blocking the entire view of the ocean. You have to walk down the street to even access the beach. That's not even the worst part. ROACHES! There was roach poop everywhere. We called to talk to Vtrips upon arrival. We were told we would get a call back the next day and we never did. We couldn't even use the kitchen while we were there because of the poop. We literally only used the bedroom while we were there to avoid the poop. The detached garage was where the washer and dryer were housed, but the entire garage smelled like mold. There was also mold underneath the bathroom sink. I would never stay here again, and recommend to others to steer clear. I don't ever leave reviews, but this one was one that needs to be shared. There was also hair and other dirt along the baseboards and other places. I have a video of all the poop, but it won't let me attach. read more

We rented from Jackson Mountain Homes in Gatlinburg, Lone Wolf Lodge over Christmas. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS non-existent. Once they get your money they do not care about you. Arrived at our cabin and when we gained access, we discovered we had 7 towels and we would need the trash picked up on that day. They are very tacky in their listing to make sure that you KNOW that they will only provide one towel per person. We have 10 people and 7 towels, no biggy, I will call and obviously I did not mind washing, but wanted to have at least one round of towels for everyone. Left a message with customer service and never received a call back. Ok next day, called and the lady was rude and said she had made a work order for that...ok how am I supposed to know unless you let me know. Ok whatever, they dumped the trash and brought towels while we were out. Great. Then that night the electricity goes out. Ok there are a few flashlights around but we have NO heat....How do you run a business in the mountains and KNOW that there are winter storms and do not provide a secondary form of heat??? NO electricity NO heat. Ok in the morning it was back on... Ok no worries all good. Then the snow started falling. Then it froze and on CHRISTMAS EVE, the electricity went out AGAIN and did NOT come back on until Christmas Day after 6 pm. While I know they cannot control the weather or electrical outages, IF YOU OWN A BUSINESS and charge premium rates for holiday stays during the winter, YOU SHOULD PROVIDE A SECONDARY FORM OF HEAT....ITS YOUR BUSINESS...COME ON....NO GAS...NO LOGS FOR THE FIREPLACE AND WE WERE FROZEN IN. WE COULD NOT GET ANY OF THOSE THINGS AND THEY HAD A PROPANE TANK FOR A GRILL THAT WAS EMPTY!!~!! Called customer service and the rude ladies hung up on me. Would just keep asking is there anything we can do for you and I kept telling them yes, please explain why no one calls back when I leave a message. I obviously was not a happy camper. I did call customer service after the fact and they did a partial refund but again, if you OWN A BUSINESS AND CHARGE PREMIUM RATES, CUSTOMERS EXPECT COMMON SENSE AND A SECONDARY FORM OF HEAT. Never in my life would I have thought that they would just leave you on the side of a frozen mountain without heat, but that is exactly what they did. Again, they gladly took our premium money and failed to provide any sense of a "fun holiday vacation". If someone would have froze to death would they have been liable? Rented a place with vtrips. Place was filthy ! Food on table & floor even feces on toilet seat. Called complained. No one will help . They play phone tag with you - only call when company is closed so you can't reach them. When the are open "they are in a meeting or phone call & will get back to you " well I'm 5 days out so far & no answers. Still have time left in my rental - but I'm leaving early & not telling them so it can't be rented. Avoid this outfit! Stayed in a Condo at Captain's Quarters in St Augustine ,made reservation and upon arrival had to make a phone call as nobody was in the Office. Was told to travel 4 or 5 miles south to pick up key in separate mini office. Was handed a 10 or 12 page "agreement" to sign that only a professional lawyer could understand! After our stay received the bill in E-Mail with a added $95 Property Damage Protection! Been renting vacation units for 30+ years and this "PROTECTION" has ALWAYS been voluntary and If you signed for it , it was redeemed after you left! Coffee maker was broke , wall paper peeling, couch sagged in the middle as if someone used it as a trampoline. Looks to me as if I was being penalized for some college breakers! We rented 141 West Leslie in the Gulf Highlands complex in Panama City Beach, Florida for 10 weeks, based on the pictures, description, and reviews provided by V-Trips. What a colossal mistake. In fact, V-Trips offered a $700 refund (plus reimbursement for an area rug we bought to replace the pet-stained one in the unit) with the proviso that we wouldn't generate a negative review. We gave up that refund so we could give this truthful review. We left a VM 45 minutes after we arrived at the unit to complain about the unit's general disrepair and damage, lack of common upkeep, and lack of basic cleanliness. Upon returning our call the next day, we were asked if we wanted a refund. We asked what amount that would be, and the V-Trips rep said that first we should try to get the unit adequately cleaned. A cleaner came to clean and deodorize the living room furniture and stairway carpeting as we could smell the furniture while upstairs in bed. Thereafter, we bought a blanket to place on the couch as it was still too smelly to sit on. As for the other furniture in the room, it continued to smell, getting particularly strong on humid days. Then a "mini deep cleaning" was done addressing only some of our concerns. A couple of maintenance men visited to photograph and repair a few items. Three days after arriving, when we asked about the refund, we were told it was "too late" for that. Amazing, as we had wanted to pursue that immediately but were told that cleaning should be done as a first course of action. We personally cleaned the unit for two weeks to bring it up to basic cleanliness. We notified V-Trips of basics not found in the unit including, but not limited to, dishware; pots and pans that were not scabby with scraped/gouged Teflon; bakeware; and a vacuum. Eventually, most basics were provided, but they should have been there from the start. We provided V-Trips with an itemized list of general disrepair and damage areas as we didn't want to be held responsible for those items in this well worn, run down, dated unit. As for basic cleanliness, we were amazed as we were lead to believe, from reviews, that we would find a clean unit. Wrong. We cleaned, among other things, all of the air grates; ceiling fans and light fixtures; kitchen shelves; black greasy dirt from the top of the refrigerator; black covering entire stairway handrail; and dirt and black marks on the walls and ceilings. Upon closer look, the reviews on the V-Trips site were from two years ago, and we cannot even put this review on the site for the unit as there is no place to add a review. What's with that? Although V-Trips made attempts to obtain our satisfaction, there was a definite lack of responsive, timeliness of response, and of course the biggy of putting off a refund and then saying it was "too late." I would never use this company. For the premium price I paid, the conditions were completely unacceptable. The primary issue was the that the AC was at a constant 79-81 degrees for 2 1/2 days of our 4 day stay. We checked in on Wednesday afternoon and the temperature was 79 degrees in the unit. Thursday morning it was 80 degrees. On Thursday, I contacted V Trips and they sent out a repair company that arrived around 3 PM. They cooled off the unit for about 2 hours, but the temperature immediately went back to 80 degrees. Later that night V Trips brought us 2 box fans to circulate the hot air and a portable ac that they wanted to put in the sliding glass door and block our patio access and beach view. I declined which is why we rented the condo in the first place. On Friday when the temperature was at 81 degrees, I began sending emails and calling at 8AM. Around 3 Friday afternoon I stopped by the hotel desk and expressed that I could no longer stand the heat. I am a very senior citizen and I had my 2 young grandchildren. I requested another room, but none were available. Approx. 4 PM Friday the hotel sent their onsite service rep who did fixed the problem. At 5PM I called the V Trips office again and finally spoke to a live person, telling them the problem had been resolved. Around 7 PM another service rep showed up, but the problem had been fixed hours before. We left Sunday at 10AM so we had 1 1/2 days of comfort. I have requested a credit for 1/2 of my stay from V Trips but they have declined the credit. Not only that the coffee table had a broken leg, the end table in the living room had a broken leg, only 1 lamp in the living room worked, the sliding glass door was almost impossible to open or close, still only opening half way and the bath tub would not drain. The front desk had to send someone up to fix that. I do believe the situation would not have been resolved had it not been for my my tenacity, determination and concern for my health and the health of my 2 grandchildren. Do NOT, I repeat, Do NOT, use this agency to assist in accommodating you with your vacation plans. This has been the most HORRIBLE trip that we have ever been on, thanks to V Trips and their services. From the start to almost (thankfully) the end, V Trips has dropped the ball every step of the way. First starting with a 2 hour notice of a relocation (yes, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.... but why would they first allow us to book a room that they weren't positive that they could provide) to a condominium that was not in any comparison to the condo that we originally rented from (I.e. bed bugs, roaches, plus them not providing a key or key code to enter the condo after a two hour wait [after an eight hour drive]) And now that we are sitting in the condo that we originally paid well over $1k for 4 day's, we have no air conditioning. It was ok when they said they would send someone out earlier today, but now that it is 9pm and the AC technician has yet to arrive, we are beyond frustrated with this Company. I have called five times today and no one has answered on each call.... when we left messages earlier each time, we have yet to receive a return call. It is in anyone's best interests to NOT use this agency for any traveling purposes. (Side note: I have never in my life left a negative review because I am all about giving each and everyone a second [and third or 4th] chance) read more

Avoid this outfit. Long story short: condo unit in Ft. Myers Beach went 6 days without shower! Nice condo at Estero Beach & Tennis Club but Vtrips customer service is beyond awful. Imagine paying $190 + per day for a nice unit BUT no shower. Was 75-80 degrees most days. Can you imagine? Only choice was to use the pool or go a car wash! Kept all emails trying to get the problem resolved & even asked to shower in another unoccupied unit but was refused. Rented (Jan 5 thru Feb 2, 2019).
