Instead of waiting for the nail polish remover to fully work, my nails were filed down with the Dremel type machine so much that it almost reached skin. I couldn't touch my nails on anything without pain. Now they are so destroyed they are unable to grow without breaking (even after a repairing treatment I just completed). They have huge divots and ridges in them. The person also cut their finger with the file, but kept working on my nails. read more

Let me start by saying that I wouldn't complain about any bad manicures anymore because I was just so thankful to have my nails done after quarantine. So this is not a complaint, but I just think it's something worth noting with SNS/dip. First, I made an appointment and was seen 35 minutes late. Not a big deal, except that it was very obvious that I was being rushed out of there. I paid the extra money for a manicure (I needed it after 2 months), but I still had some cuticles not dealt with and it was not "clean" around the edges of my nails. Regarding the actual dip, there were a solid 2 layers put on. Ten days in I have no chips or cracks on the dip portion. I will say, though, within 2 days my hair was already getting stuck in my nails when washing my hair. Once again, the edges of my nails were not neat and it was already peeling at the sides. I can handle everything that has happened to this point, but then we get to the top coat. Trying to rush customers through, they use gel topcoat for SNS. This does NOT work at all: within 7 days, the top coat has completely peeled off my nails, leaving just the dip (the picture somewhat shows this - thumb nail has no top coat, pinky has top coat). After paying $50 (not a big deal if they last 3+ weeks like usual) I will now have to get them redone in less than 2 weeks. read more

Absolutely terrible. I went in for a simple acrylic removal and she basically just ripped them off my nails. The nail tech had ripped off some of my actual nail and it started to bleed. Several days later part of my thumb nail came off because of how weak my nails were, taking a while to stop the bleeding. I started going here in a recommendation. I chose to go cus it was cheep and they looked like they did good work. I have gotten my nails done about 4 times now and there all fills, the nails do not break or chip. I don't have many good pictures but the ones I do have I'll put down below. Kevin did an absolutely AMAZING job on my nails. I got a full set of gel nails with a stiletto shape. Usually everywhere I go the tips of my nails aren't as sharp as I would usually like. Kevin was able to give me everything I needed and more, even helping me change my color selections once I realized that the color I picked was too light. Beware! When I got a pedicure there, the tech was removing the skin down the side of my big toenail. Not only was it very painful but it's also dangerous. As soon as I felt what she was doing I told her to stop. She didn't want to but she finally clipped off the skin and stopped. Now that the polish is growing out, I now see that I have a bad fungus under my toenail. I would never go there again, and I don't suggest you do either. read more

I came to this nail salon to get a polish change and to reshape my nails the most easiest thing to do for a nail technician. I have owned a nail salon for 10 years now in Las Vegas and I have never heard of nail Tech say they will not do a polish change on someone else's work!. Not so good service, but I think it depends more on who does your nails. A man did mine (I think there is only one man working there); I got a full set of gel nails. When he was filing the sides, he cut into my skin four separate times. I told him he made me bleed, and I know there wasn't much he could do, but what bothered me is he put the file he used on me (which now has my blood particles on it) back in his pile where he will be using it on someone else. That is extremely unsanitary. Where he cut me was still bleeding the next day. I wouldn't come here due to sanitary reasons, but if you decide to come anyway, don't let the guy do it. Google reviews is wrong! This is not a 4 star nail experience!! I stopped by to get "quick" a No Chip manicure and had a horrible experience. The gentleman who did my nails was rough and nicked my cuticles (to bleeding) a couple of times. Today (the day after) I have little scabs on my cuticles. It also took him 90 MINUTES to complete a standard No Chip manicure. The person doing my nails and another person who I assume was the owner/manager blamed the long time and need to redo several nails multiple times on a "bad lamp". To top off this bad experience, they then charged me the standard price. Head my warning!!! Don't go here. Same your time and money and go elsewhere!! read more

I came here with my friend on a Thursday night with not appointment. She was getting acrylic nails and i was getting gel. They seemed a bit busy but they were able to fit us both in and it was only a 20 minute wait. While we were waiting, a woman came in and said that her gel manicure chipped after only 5 days, so i was hesitant to get gel on my nails. My nail technician was very gentle, but she did cut my cuticle and I bled a little, but that's pretty common for me so no biggie. It only took 30 mins and cost $35, a pretty decent price especially for gel. The place is pretty clean in my opinion. I'm no nail technician so I couldn't tell you if they used proper sanitization or not. I was too busy relaxing and chatting with my pleasant technician to notice anyways. My friend was really happy with her nails, and I really enjoy the way mine came out. I just hope it lasts more than 5 days! Overall, I would come here again. read more

But I just sat here for an hour and half getting a pedicure and it looks like my 2 yr old pained my nails. Extremely horrible experience. Called ahead and made an appointment: 1 pedi & 3 manis. The pedi was great minus having to maneuver around the winter stuff to get my stuff causing me to mess up my toes. My sister and mom were only getting manis and the young man had the nerve to get upset with my mom and tried to insult her intelligence because she didn't want him to drill to take off the dip nail polish she had. (Dip doesn't require drilling, gel does.) He made her sit for an hour soaking her nails and finally she asked for someone to just take the foil off because she had to go to work soon. The man who was supposed to do her nails made her go sit in another booth and he began someone else's nails and someone took the foil off of hers. Smh. A lady started my nails and then went and did someone else's nails while o had foil on so a man finished them. A day later, my fingers still hurt from him being too aggressive with the drill and cuticle cutter. Have nice little cuts on my fingers. In addition, the color is not the color o asked for and I have SO much color on my skin, gel nail polish under my nail and skin (I got a dip so there shouldn't have been much if any gel polish used) and I've had to peel my skin from my nails because they have been stuck together. $80 for this nonsense. I went to Vu on a Sunday afternoon for a simple manicure. When I told the technician that I wanted a regular manicure and not a gel manicure I could tell she was not interested (I can only assume due to the price difference in the two). To soak my nails she brought over a bowl of water with nothing in it. The manicure was brief and my nails look ok. Nothing to rave about. Most disturbing and disgusting was when my manicure was finished and I was sitting to dry. I watched her walk to the sink with the instruments she just used on me and wash them with soap. I'm went to this location three times when I first moved here a year ago. I left because the owner and staff and very rude. Their attitude towards clients and their staff is so disrespectful. They upcharge for anything little thing. Today desperate because my regular tech was on vacation I went in and again was treated with absolute disrespect. I wanted a gel manicure with a matte top coat and they told me matte top coat is $2 extra. Now the money isn't the point it's the principal. Shiny top coat and matte top coat are exactly the same thing and cost the exact same cost. When I chose not to do the service and just do the soak off the charged me 50 cents to use my debit card. The worst customer service and the worst attitudes ever. Do not ever go to this nail shop to get a service you will regret it!!!! I would even give them one star but I don't have a choice. read more

Went to Vu Nail to get a gel manicure for a wedding. While my friend (the bride) was seated right away, I stood there awkwardly while I was ignored before the girl who was going to do my nails finally came out. Ended up being seated on the other side of the room from my friend who was also getting a manicure, which I found awkward. Other than telling me she had a cold, there was next to no communication with the person who was doing my nails. It was uncomfortable. She didn't know what I was even there for and almost gave me acrylic nails until I stopped her. She seemed irritated that I didn't understand her series of nods and glares to tell me what to do rather than using actual words to communicate. On the plus side, the manicure has held up pretty well except for one tiny chip, but I don't think it is worth going back and paying $40 for horrible service. read more

I get there 6 minutes before my "appointment" time. I walk in and the place is packed. I tell the lady my name, and that I have an appointment for a pedicure. She tells me that they are booked up for the evening and to come back tomorrow. I said I have an appointment though. She told me to come back tomorrow. I turned and walked out. What could I do? I've been going to this nail shop for a while and I have NEVER had a problem. The staff are always professional and try to accommodate clients quickly and efficiently. I get the no chip full set/fill and when my nails grow out I get an overlay. They take care of my nails and I have NEVER had a problem with the no chip polish. I could go 3 almost 4 weeks before I get a fill. As for other shops here in Kenosha, I cannot say the same. I have been cut, nails have came up (gel at that), and the staff are rude and take their tips out of your transaction. Vu Nail spa has had a consistent customer in me. When I break a nail, they fix it with no charge or if my polish chips they redo it for no charge. You just have to communicate it when I happens because if you don't then you will get charged when you go back when they can fix it.
