I've bought (amongst other things) a vintage men's cashmere overcoat, a pocket flask, Lucky Tiger…read moreaftershave balm, and a very nice silvertip badger shaving brush from Sixteen Tons. This is a shop that can satisfy the needs of the hipster who needs to dress up his retro a little bit, along with young professionals who want some classic flair. Yes, you can wear a tweed jacket over raw-selvedge denim jeans and make it look good. The shop's got a good selection of both new and old, the buying for vintage clothes is done well, and prices are very reasonable. If you wanna class up your act a little bit without breaking the bank, guys - this is a good place to stop. It's a little bit rockabilly, a little bit Mad Men, and a little bit Animal Collective. Enjoy.

I like this place! The selection is really carefully chosen and the interior decorating is pretty…read moregorgeous. Hampden doesn't really have any other mens clothing stores (except thrift shops) so its a great addition to the neighborhood. Think of it like the sister...er..brother store to Double Dutch. Sixteen Tons also carries other man-gifts like wallets, cologne, belts, ties, hats, etc. The clothing can be quite pricey, depending on the item, but I did recently notice a sale bin! It's difficult for me to get my boyfriend to step into an actual store, or buy something vintage ("If its used, should it be cheaper?"), so its best that I come here alone and bring back what he doesn't want. I always end up asking a bunch of questions when I'm here- usually about sizing. When the owner is in the shop, he is warm and super friendly and helpful. There is another employee who always seems annoyed that I have the nerve to ask about an item; I really can't take that type of attitude. Customer service, man! I'm hesitant to dock Sixteen Tons a star because of this one guy's attitude. The owner has true vision and really caters to his clientele. He has helpful tips (more ties coming in next week!), good suggestions (how about a cool vintage belt for the guy who has everything?) and asks the right questions to really try to understand who you're buying for. He should pass these skills on to his employees!

This was a cute and curated thrift store. I found some good pieces there like a Chanel scarf, snake…read moreskin purse, a limit from Japan, large belt buckle attachment, some jewelry and some match boxes. I believe the value is good. I probably came out spending $160 or so. I bought quite a few things that could be signature pieces. I think it will depend on your style. A lot of items I can see being more 70s or 80s. Retro throw back, coming of age movie type vibes. We spend a lot of time there because of the vibe as well as just looking through a bunch to find what we could. For plus size I wouldn't say there was a lot but I like accessories and other things so I still found it worth while. Because the clothing is more vintage sizing can be different but anyone who thrifts kinda knows that. I thigh the cashier was nice. Saw some regulars that she was friendly with.

Buyer Beware!!!! SARA AUTREY of Get Shredded Vintage Baltimore (3813 Falls Road Baltimore, MD…read more21211) sold me a pair of sunglasses sitting casually on a table at that "vintage expo"at Craft Union Brewery on Sunday in a random open case next to her rack of old dirty T-shirts for sale with a price tag of $25 while also reconfirming the price of $25 when I asked. She swiped my card on square, gave no paper receipt, and said it would be emailed. When I got home and looked at my emails there was a charge of $2650.00 on my credit card!!!!! She won't return it, sent me a slew of nasty disgusting messages, and has had her friends harass me online. She needs to pay me back immediately and let me return them. What she did is deplorable. The only thing she shreds is your credit card and her reputation I guess now!!! SNAKE!
