Also I would say the prices for complete decks were pretty reasonable as shop completes were going for around $100 while customizable completes were starting around $150. In addition, they have a rotating variety of deck sizes ranging from 7.75 to 8.25 for the prebuilt completes. They offered a lot of name brand options for all kinds of parts but also offered quality shop board options for a cheaper price. The service was excellent as the staff member present was very helpful and answered any questions we had. He was also very knowledgeable of the surrounding skate community as he knew about the other skate shops in the area and provided us with many skate park locations. Lastly, it seems like Vu Skateboard Shop is pretty involved in the community as they have hosted competition for the many college skateboard clubs in the area, promote events happening in the area, and more.

Vu's shoe selection did not disappoint. A pair of blue New Balance high tops immediately caught my eye. The man working the counter asked if there was a pair of shoes he could grab for me to try on. I described them and provided a size. He disappeared in back and then came back with a box. He laced one of the shoes up for me while the kids and I checked out Vu's selection of hoodies, socks, boards, t-shirts and knit caps. Vu's Baltimore centric t-shirts and socks were pretty cool. My daughter loved their board designs, especially Hello Kitty, and my son was all over their knit caps. In the end we walked out with the shoes, a pair of socks and two knit caps (one for each kid). Of these items, only the knit caps seemed to be on the pricey side. Everything else was close to what you would pay elsewhere. Skateboarder or shoe aficionado? I'd suggest checking out Vu.

He has walls of boards and other gear and this is the best: HIs team riders give lessons and they are terrific and patient. I think they may be holding a camp as well. If you buy some gear there you get a free lesson and there is no pressure and no "package deals" Lesson when you want if you want. I took my son and he was "dropping" in in just a half hour. They also teach safety etc without disturbing any skate vibe. Parents are encouraged to drop the kids off. I'll take my son and some friends and let them skate while I catch up on errands. It's like the old days a great place to hang out for the kids. The place is the best.

Then they were able to deliver to HOCO since they had a delivery coming to that area, saving me from driving up to BMore. Now I found myself wanting some dumbbells, again PIASBmore came through, where so many people are attempting to sell 2 20lb dumbells for $100 they again came through with normal prices. 1 STAR -- Defective Shoes and Zero Accountability…read more I completely understand and respect an "All Sales Final" policy. If I bought the wrong size, changed my mind, or simply didn't like the shoes, that would be on me. But this is not a return issue. This is a product failure. I purchased these Nike running shoes from the Nike Factory Store/Outlet in White Marsh, Maryland, on Thursday for approximately $71. Within just two days, the sole began separating from the shoe and is now visibly coming apart. These were essentially brand-new shoes that failed almost immediately. When I called the store to explain what happened, I made it very clear I was not trying to return them due to preference or buyer's remorse. I was reporting a defective product that had already broken down after minimal use. The response I received was that the sale was final, nothing could be done, and I was simply out the $71. That level of response is extremely disappointing. An "All Sales Final" policy should apply to normal customer returns--not to merchandise that appears to be defective right out of the box. A shoe that starts falling apart after two days is not normal wear and tear, and it reflects poorly on both product quality and customer support. I expected significantly better from Nike, both in terms of durability and accountability.

Hello REI, I was…read morevery disappointed with my treatment at your Timonium bicycle department today. In the past (many) visits, I have received courteous, prompt fairly priced service from the crew. Today was an exception. When I picked up my Novara Hickory rear wheel I was told it would be $64. My service request was to adjust the axle bearings that had slight play. When I was told this price, I asked that the REI work code be reviewed since what I asked for was clearly not what got coded. In looking at the receipt I see code "900000355 Hub brrg repl-rr". The technician would not make any review so I asked to speak to a manager. I repeated my request for review of the code. Surely there is a code for simple bearing adjustment as opposed to replacement. She refused to look at the codes - might not have been a department where she has expertise. She held the book, but didn't look at any codes and pointed out that when I signed the monitor, I was accepting the "estimate" for work. Since I have had a consistent run of satisfactory work/pricing at REI, I did not review the pricing before signing the screen. She repeated, asking me several time "did you sign?" - putting aside my request for review of the code - and any possible correction. Of course she reminded me that if I didn't pay, REI would keep my wheel. I really needed to hear that. My reasonable request was set aside. I paid and promised her to take my future business elsewhere. That is where things stand. I was not treated with either courtesy, or a businesslike response to my request to review the code - tough luck for you Mr. Customer. I'll guess any reasonable retail service manager would know better than to ask a customer the same question several times - as though, you signed - you own any problem. I took this as a mockery. To the extent this treatment is REI policy, then yours is not a business I can support.

It was not easy to find a bike shop, but I am glad I found Baltimore Bicycle Works. The bikes were top notch, easy to operate, and well-maintained. I brought my own helmet and lock to save some money, but they rent them as well. We rented for a "loose" 24 hours. That was much appreciated so we didn't have to worry about the exact timing of return. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you plan to eat a lot while in Baltimore, like I did, you can offset those calories with biking, and have a great time doing it. The only drawbacks were locating the shop, finding bike lane streets, and the need to carefully consider where you are riding and where to safely lock up your bike. That may sound like a lot- but IMHO, there is crime everywhere. We can limit our experiences because we live in fear, or we can venture forth with reasonable caution. We locked up the bikes for hours while visiting both the aquarium and the museum of art without issue. So seize the day.

That was nice especially since I wasn't hounded by a salesperson to help me find something or recommend different items. Entire store is on sale. Up to 40% on some items. If you find something you like but they don't have your size you can ask them to look the item up in the computer and if available (8/10x) they can order it and it's shipped to your house.
