Needless to say, I was horrified. When I described the situation over the phone, the plumber immediately knew what the problem was and explained that I likely had a backed-up sewer line. He told me he'd be there within about an hour, and he was. When he arrived, he went straight to work. He located the cleanout in my front yard, removed the cap, and sewage and toilet paper came shooting out of the pipe--definitely not a pleasant sight, but it confirmed the problem. He then ran a camera through the line and showed me exactly what was causing the backup: tree roots had intruded into the sewer pipe. What impressed me most was how quickly they responded. He told me a crew would be out the very next morning--even though it was a Saturday--to make the repair. True to his word, the crew arrived as scheduled and worked well into the evening to get everything fixed properly. But the service didn't stop there. After completing the repair, they offered to spread mulch over the area where they had dug the trnech to install the new pipe. However, not only did they mulch the area of their work, but generously offered to spread mulch throughout the entire yard. By the time they finished, not only was my sewer line repaired, but my yard looked better than it ever had before. I feel like I got the benefit of a plumber and a landscaper! AB's Plumbing turned what could have been a nightmare experience into an awesome customer service experiences. They were knowledgeable, honest, responsive, hardworking, and went far above and beyond what I expected. If you need a plumber in Oakland, I would not hesitate to call AB's Plumbing Service.

I saw that the flush valve, flapper and handle were sticking and needed to be replaced. I messaged Abraham, and -- just like last time -- he responded within 60 seconds. He told me exactly what parts needed to be replaced and provided a very reasonable estimate. We made an appointment for him to come this morning. This morning, he texted me from the store to let me know he was on the way. Traffic was a challenge (as it often is), but Abraham kindly kept me updated. Once he got here, he got the job done quickly and efficiently. He actually charged me even less than he had quoted, and emailed the receipt to me immediately. Both were done with permits, and he passed every inspection with flying colors, even receiving props from an inspector. On Joel's first day beginning the toilet project in a vacant apartment, a tenant from a neighboring apartment confronted him about the construction noise, complaining loudly and threatening to get a restraining order and/or take legal action. I called a civil standby officer to keep the tenant at bay, but his threats continued. Other contractors might have been intimidated. But Joel remained steadfast and finished the job by my deadline. When restoring the bathroom, he even threw in a couple of new water shutoff valves under the bathroom sink. Highly recommended!

Twin Handyman also found an issue with our garbage disposal (which we did not know about) and the plumbing around it while he was fixing our main problem. Though this was unexpected, I am glad Isaac did the due diligence and told us about the problem while he was there so we could do something about it. The technician, Salvador G. came early, on time. He called me to let me know he's on his way. He fixed the plumbing problem, the tenant was very happy with the work. Salvador called me to Let me know the work was finished, sent me pictures via email of before and after the Job. This young man was very kind, polite and most of all knowledgeable of any kind of plumbing problem. He sent me the description and invoice of the work done. The job was done on schedule and at a very fair price. I highly recommend this company for plumbing and also for HVAC. Do not let them do the $79.00 "inspection"! They found an actual problem (small drip from very old…read moregalvanized water pipe). We got bids on a "pex" replacement and when we told them theirs was too high the bid was magically lowered. We were the fools who took the lowest bid. What we thought was a "repiping" of our house turned out to be a "partial repiping." So the drip was fixed but a lot of old galvanized piping remains. And here's the bad news: the new pex piping was inadequately attached to the floor joists under the house and the installer removed many sections of furnace ducting to work down there and run the new piping. So we found that one of our heater registers had no heat/no attachment to the furnace duct! Hot air blowing into the crawl space.... So we have paid someone to reattach the piping and the ducts. And when the "new piping" was done I subscribed to the annual maintenance agreement. This is a total scam! No work is done under this agreement. It is only an opportunity for Albert Nahman "technicians" to try to up sell various filters and improvement systems. And the "inspector" missed the heating duct problem.... Avoid the big yellow truck! Do not let these guys into your house!
