Nori Asian Grill - Chicken and Shrimp Pad Thai...what was left after I indulged!

We expected good food at such a nice resort but this was so much more! We had the Chicken Tikki Masala and Chicken and Shrimp Pad Thai. Both were so delicious, very authentic tasting, which was surprising having Indian and Asian (I know they share a continent, but are quite different in many ways culturally). Just the right amount of medium spice, and amazing flavor left us wishing we could bring it back to have the leftovers! The service was excellent and the ambiance was very nice with a cool looking bar decor as you enter. My kids also enjoyed their Lo mein dishes so much they left nothing on their plates, which is rare for them The resort is also a wonderful place to vacation, but more about that in their review. If you come to the Hyatt Grand Reserve here in Rio Grande, make a reservation at Nori - you need a reservation as it's popular. It will be a worthwhile experience for your palate ‍

The food was good but a bit on the pricey side specially for Puerto Rico, maybe equivalent to SF or bay area so we are used to those prices. The server we had was very sweet and she made recommendations that were delicious. What was not up to mark was the matcha tiramisu, it was super wrong texturally for a tiramisu and matcha flavor didn't come forth at all. The sushi and the drinks was the highlight.

I don't know if it was the owner or manager, but I had a great conversation with him which led to him asking will I accept anything that's left over in the kitchen since I was so hungry next thing you know he came out with three large bags filled with a variety of food. I gave him some money for it and told him I will be back tomorrow to try the sushi... The food I received was amazing, especially considering it was leftover scraps lol I did come back and try the sushi I consider myself a sushi connoisseur and let me tell you it was some of the best sushi I've had in my life! I will be back several times The inside was very spacious lots of tables inside and out live atmosphere all the staff went above and beyond, especially when the kitchen closed while we were inside eating and I wanted to order another roll to go haha

But the Singapore noodles were pathetic. The recipe was anything but traditional for Singapore noodles. The meats were very low quality and the flavors were all off. Also, all of our dishes were served simultaneously- no spacing of the appetizer and main dish. The temperature of everything had cooled somewhat. All dishes were warm and not hot. Service: Too many customers, too few servers. Poor service. Overall cleanliness: Below average Value: Given to poor quality and service, poor overall value

It sounds so corny to say, but the staff felt like family. We were first greeted by Gio who was not only professional in all senses, but just a kind soul at the core. Whether it be recommendations, suggestions, or just overall comfort, he made sure everything we needed (and even things we didn't know we needed) were attended to at the highest level. Our chef Greg along with his amazing team were so in sync that the 75 minutes experience felt like the purest form of a culinary flow state. Each dish set the bar so high that it felt impossible to top, but like clockwork, it did. If you want just food, this might not be your place, but if you want to have your literal mind blown, this is the place to be. Even our trip to Japan did not reach the levels that this experience did. We booked our reservation last minute on a whim but I honestly can't imagine our trip now without this experience . If I could give more stars I would. This puts most Michelin star restaurants to shame. This food hits your soul.

(For those unfamiliar, Sushi by Bou offers a mid-priced limited-seating/chef's-table type omakase experience, but not like, super old-school serious Japanese-style- it has more of a fun, modern vibe. The locations aren't standalone, but rather speakeasy style, nestled into some other larger space like a hotel lobby, hotel suite, coffee shop, or restaurant.) That said, this particular location really exceeded my expectations, and may now be my favorite Sushi by Bou location. The quality of the sushi was very good as usual, but the ambiance was even better than some of the New York locations, and the service was fantastic. The chefs were a ton of fun, and the cocktail menu is great. I particularly liked the yuzu honey bee.

The bartender was spectacular! Kept good conversation going with all of us at the bar, but not too much that you can't enjoy your time. (I was solo dining for context). For the food, a lot of it was very yummy, but I do think I was missing something with each dish. Whether it was salt, more umami, or just spice. The methods of everything being made was executed well, it just could have been better in overall flavor which is why I gave it 3 stars. On top of the bartender having a great personality & service, the cocktails were equally delicious. Now the flavor is absolutely in the bar so although I may not come back for all of the food, I would willingly try more dishes and eagerly order a drink!

The place is small but cute inside. The staff is very attentive and friendly. If you like sake, we had a very unique and delicious sake bottle called the Moonstone. Is unfiltered sake with a coconut lemongrass flavor. We tasted the sake flight and that one was the winner flavor. As appetizer we had the pan fried mixed dumplings, veggie and pork. Both good. I had the Tonkotsu Ramen which was decent but not as tasty as I would like it to be. The broth wasn't rich enough. The meat and noodles were great. The amount was plentiful. It fulfilled its purpose. We finished our meal in a sweet note with two scoops of ice cream, sesame and caramel flavors. They were creamy, really good.
