Be honest: how many of you have called to get an appointment or follow up from a call from the staff only to be put on hold; a never-ending hold where nobody ever picks up? That's what I thought ...about 90% of you right? Out of the 90% of you that agreed, how many of you have thought maybe it's just an aberration but when you went to make another appointment the same thing happened? How many of you don't have a job? How many of you don't have a daily schedule? How many of you don't have other things to do and other appointments? How many of you have absolutely nothing to do and you just sit on your couch and enjoy waiting on hold forever and forever because it doesn't matter because you don't have anything to do? The staff all the way up to the doctor performing , was no less than amazing. RN, nurse anesthestatist ( phenomenal) technicians and physicians were as close to perfection as I have witnessed in my career. I'm beyond impressed. read more

My son is a student at Baylor. He was vomiting continually and the ER recommended going here for a GI specialist. They did get my son in quickly and diagnosed him with several ulcers. However that is when the care ended. Every call to the office puts you in voicemail hell with no live person ever answering. Every voicemail left is never returned. They offer a texting service to contact them which also is never responded to. After 2 days of leaving messages we finally went to Premier ER. They took great care of my son and recommended contacting our GI for a medication adjustment. All we could do is laugh. First of all, before my appointment the staff tried to change my appointment time ahead 30 mins without any correspondence. Had to show up an hour before my scheduled appointment and then sit there waiting. LVN started reading off my med list, on one med which wasn't on the list but several other meds were...how? They used propofol (awful). Was completely drunk and out of it with someone helping me get in the car. Not okay. Fentanyl and midazolam are much better post procedure for the patient and no anesthesiologist needed. Had post surgery bleeding complications, had lots of polyps so called the on call and was told to go to the ED. This experience was 6 hours waiting to get seen and then involved blood work and a CT only to be told you can stay here overnight and then after you do another prep we can go in and search for the problem. This was 12 hours post surgery. This practice is unacceptable. I would have never gone to the ED if I hadn't been dumping blood out my bum every 30 mins until the next morning. I am disgusted by our healthcare and particularly this place and BSW ED. Shameful. read more

They threatened to cancel my appointment if I didn't pre-pay the procedure, but I also have a job to do and did not have time to talk with them. And the endoscopy center is just one of FIVE potential entities I need to deal with (physician, facility, anesthesia, lab, pathology), since each may be billing me for this colonoscopy. Getting a colonoscopy is not a fun thing to do, but I would think that for a procedure that my GP thinks is REALLY important, that they would make this an easier thing to schedule and not something that requires multiple days to track down. I only wanted to know what my potential costs would be BEFORE my procedure. read more

This office was recommended but turned out to not be the right place for me. The procedure part and the office part are two different entites who apparently don't communicate with one another well. Nurse Practitioner I saw seemed rushed when she saw me, recommended some tests but didn't seem to believe me when I told her I had cytomegalovirus (which can cause digestive issues). I was given a paper on Low FODmap diet but it was never discussed in my actual appointment - was told that they don't do scopes without anesthesia even though I'd been told by someone who works on the procedure side it is an option. Liver scan recommended which was helpful but then was called and given results which I already had an recalled two days later to ask if I had had it done ????????. Not confidence building. Office staff was polite but also seemed lost when I asked specific questions. When I called back to cancel after deciding to go with a different office I was queried as to why I was cancelling - ok this was more than a week ahead and it's really not your business beyond I need to cancel. It's not like I cancelled the morning of appointment or procedure! They seem to have forgotten they work for their patients not the other way round. I am going with Baylor Scott & White instead. I must admit that I didn't go through this procedure w the dr at this practice. I waited about 5 weeks after a referral to get the office appointment and when I was leaving was still not scheduled with the procedure date. My parents had a similar problem do I went w the dr they suggested. There were also a few other concerns I had like bringing my medications the nurse not reading them or double checking w me and having one med wrong and the dosage of another wrong. Everyone seemed pleasant but I want to give facts. I held up an eye exam and a podiatrist exam trying to get this finished since I started a new job recently and it was quite a long time w honestly no end in sight. Perhaps you might have a far better experience than my parents or I but I wouldn't necessarily count on that. I also had two before w two drs so I do know how it goes and at most was done w it all in about 3-4 weeks total from referral to end. read more

Five stars for Patricia and Dr. Levings. Dr. Levings is caring, understanding, professional, and her very demeanor instills confidence in her ability. After my appointment with Dr. Levings, it took SEVEN WEEKDAYS of callI get Waco Gastro and my cardiologist's nurse to get a release for this procedure. Pretty sure it was being held up by my cardiologist, though their office is far more accessible than Waco Gastro's. If I had not called daily, and if I had not chosen the prompt for referring physicians, I am certain I'd still be waiting. Four stars, though - because after holding forever and eventually giving up, being spammed in every way possible and blocking their calls and emails, I finally heard from Patricia, someone who cares. read more

It is impossible to reach anyone by phone! I got teased by the doctor for not scheduling an exam three years later - but where is their accountability to ensuring patients get the care they need? It was because of the difficulties in reaching anyone that there was miscommunication that any further exam was required Then after getting the exam and biopsy - no one ever called me to give the results! It took months of trying to reach someone at this office to get answers and now I'm trying to pay the bills but again I can never reach anyone to do so. Complete patient abuse in every way! Office staff unprofessional and very i affective. Dr. Ancha exhibited complete malpractice. Audio recording available to hear the way this unprofessional "doctor". He completed two procedures on me and wanted to perform a third procedure. On the visit that was audio recorded I was billed for medical consult when Dr. Ancha came into room with the office manager. It's very evident that I received poor care and even caused me to become more ill after a specific procedure was completed. I did not want to proceed further but left no choice since Dr. Ancha refused care and stated previously recorded stating a. Specific drug was dangerous and not a good remedy. Oddly, about 5 days after my session with Dr. Ancha he called in a prescription of the same medication he said was not appropriate for me to consume. Also, I never authorized the office manager to be present and hear everything about myself and conditions. HIPPA violations have now been made. The office manager had no right to my information. Treating the patients with rude and "snotty" behavior is not professional, and I'm specifically speaking regarding your receptionists at front desk. I had an emergency come up today and had to cancel my appointment 6 hours prior to my appointment time, and the girl said I will be required to pay a $50.00 cancellation fee? Are you joking? Things come up, and I know you have plenty of patients because I had to wait for an hour the last time I was there. I didn't even get to see an actual MD, when I pay a "specialist" co-pay, I expect to actually get to see a specialist, no offence to NPs, and PAs, but it's not cheap and I don't have time to waste. My experience at Waco Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center could not have been better. Going in at age 60 for my first colonoscopy was nerve-wracking to say the least. The check in nurse was kind and comforting and told me exactly what to expect. The procedure nurse and anesthesiologist were also very friendly and reassuring. Dr. Hanysak met with me before I was asleep to further explain the procedure and answer any questions I had. It was over before I knew it and I awoke from some of the best sleep I have had in a while! I received a telephone call the next morning from a representative to ask how I was and if I had any more questions. I urge all you "scaredy cats" (like my former self) to go get this done and go here to do it! read more

Don't expect to get any care in any timely manner and expect to be monetarily raped. This is a business and it's primary and pretty much only goal is to make money. The Dr's(well, at least one, but birds of a feather flock together) delay treatment and don't seem to know their field well. You'd expect more from people who take an "oath" to help people. Please save your time, money, and sanity and find something better. Do you really expect to give 1000$'s to a doctor for 30 mins of work and have to put up with an attitude that somehow you are the problem? I went there for an endoscopy. The doctors claim to be separate from the surgery endoscopy center. They use this to claim ignorance and over bill you. The billing center in Nashville is rude. I was charged 2 times for the facility though I had one endoscopy. They will not tell me what I received for the second $1100.00 facility charge. They charge it because they can. So you get a facility charge for each thing the doctor writes down. read more
