More of a fly-in for area pilots and aviation enthusiasts. Not huge like the Dayton airshow or anything. Very accessible, very family-friendly. Plenty of nearby parking, with even a few shade trees. Food trucks, ice cream, etc. Crafts for kids like compressed-air rocket making. Pedal planes. And biplane rides! Sign up early, there's a wait. Then look around, at the planes on display, the large car show, etc., while you wait for your call. Friendly people. No big crowds. Plenty of porta-potties. Shade. We had a blast. Baby K wanted to go up in a plane, so we did. $80 adults, $60 kids, for a pretty long ride. Cheaper than the WACO fly-in I think. She also loved making rockets. Lots of dogs there too, just a nice atmosphere all around. Some of the feel of Oshkosh, without the immensity.

All the shows are VERY interesting and I can't say enough about the Kenya Acrobats. Unbelievable! The ticket prices are a steal at $7.00 door sales/$5.00 advanced sales, with even cheaper prices for seniors and children. Be sure to pick up your child's A World A'Fair Passport which can be stamped as they visit other countries! A World A'Fair is WELL worth checking out! The Parachute Museum is located on the second floor of the Wright Dunbar Interpretive Center in the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park, while the passport can be picked up at many of the 17 participating sites (which includes Wright Dunbar Interpretive Center). The passport: this is a brochure that provides an overview of the 17 sites and has a page where you can get each site stamped as you visit. We actually picked up ours at the Huffman Prairie Visitors Center and went from there. It was fun to explore the different sites, which included both well known sites like the National Museum of the US Air Force, to smaller locations. While the majority are in Dayton, as one might anticipate, there are several others in the greater Ohio area. The museum: We admittedly did not know too much about parachutes before visiting the museum. It's a nice one room space that has a lot of information, displays, and a couple of interactive exhibits to see how parachutes work. They also have a very fun photo opportunity where you can pretend to be parachuting. For the museum, there is a parking lot available behind the center.

I can make it at home (I have a Greek SIL who taught me) but it's labor and time intensive, so I don't often do it. But I hit this festival early, buy a dozen (at least) of everything, shove some in my mouth and bring the rest home. I'm in and out in under an hour....parking is not a problem if you get there when they open Tonight we'll have a Greek Picnic on the patio, and I can't wait for that time to come..And the wine is cheaper here...it was $6 for what I consider a taste there. Yes, it's not cheap, but oh so worth it for the food. Already looking forward to next year.

But the food was alright…read more I liked that there were a ton of pastries you could buy and the way you order them is super efficient. They have an order sheet out with pictures of what everything is. That way when you go up to the counter, you're not wasting time and they know what to get you. The chicken gyro wasn't that good. You'd expect it to be a chicken gyro but it was really just grilled chicken breast with tzatziki sauce, onions, and tomato in a pita bread. The gyro was just alright too. We should have went inside for the lamb or the skewers. The spanakopita was good, but cold which was fine since it was just sitting out all day. It's nice that admission is only $2. The parking wasn't too bad only because we were able to find street parking nearby. Besides going there for a meal, there isn't much else to do here.

It has been there for awhile now, but still seems new; it's clean, the seats are comfy, the sound is good. I went to a showing of "Living In The Age Of Airplanes" which was a decent show, though not totally aviation-oriented and a bit slow at times. You have a good view of the screen, especially if there aren't many people there and you can pick a seat high and in the middle. I will gladly go back for other shows; most are just under an hour, though they do have special events around the holidays when they show popular movies like Top Gun.

But my kiddo won prizes after spinning a wheel, played in the bounce house and even rode a horse!! All of that for free?!? There was also a pumpkin patch, playground and obstacle course.
