I was encouraged to leave a review; accordingly, I advise others to seek treatment elsewhere. The receptionists are very kind; however, the practice of keeping a dog confined in a small cage throughout the day is concerning. After Dr. Waddrup departed Miles Smiles and began practicing independently, his conduct became dismissive and overtly judgmental, including repeated unsolicited comments regarding my appearance and the attire of others. Despite multiple discussions regarding removal after 30 months of treatment, he refused to remove the braces unless I executed a medical release, which I declined and instead initiated legal action. After I informed him that I had obtained documentation and formal advisement from second and third licensed orthodontic opinions confirming the braces had been maintained longer than clinically necessary as is and that the additional appliance recommended in the beginning of treatment would not have been effective given my child's age, he ultimately agreed to removal. I am grateful I declined that additional treatment prior following my gut, other orthodontist confirmed. Note to all, not legal advised just a observation - NEVER SIGN A MEDICAL RELEASE FORM WITH ANY DR. THAT WOULD RELEASE THEM FROM BEING HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY MEDICAL CARE -as this office try lying to me of what the form holds. I was also informed I was charged twice as much as I should have been if I went to the others. The clinical staff appeared wholly incompetent; on multiple occasions, Carmina was required to intervene to correct my child's braces during treatment. She was the only staff member who demonstrated professional competence read more

This review is for a particular person that did my power chain installment today, February 21st at 11:50. I do not know her name, as I, admittedly, was too afraid to ask. But, this particular lady did my teeth for the first time in the almost 2 years I have been receiving orthodontic services from this office. I want to again write a disclaimer saying that the rest of the team at this office has been nothing but amazing, especially Dr. Waddoups himself. To put it short, the lady I had today seemed a little sick, but she was wearing gloves and a mask so I just went through my braces adjustments quietly while ignoring her sniffles. When Dr. W came to see my progress, he actually informed me that my braces could potentially come off in two appointments after doing some extra measures for security and making sure my teeth wont shift. Awesome! Now I can get my new color for my powerchain and get out of here! The lady gets back to my teeth and Dr. W lets her know to send me home with some more rubber bands, but however, she was not even looking down at my teeth when installing my power chains. She was quite literally looking elsewhere and I guess relying on her sense of touch. She positions my chair back, and tells me "You are set to go now" and I just kind of looked at her because my teeth felt SO off. In the last year and a half, I have never felt this feeling before. I felt around, and noticed a 1/4 of my top power chain isnt even on my brackets. I point this out to her and she fixes it while im sat up in the chair (super awkward but at this point im trying to get out of here). She fixed it, and I reminded her I needed more rubber bands. She says "oh yeah" and hands it to me. I left and set up my next appointment. On my drive home, I felt an insane amount of pressure on one of my bottom incisors and took a good look at my braces in the bathroom mirror. One of the loops on my bottom power chain, was completely skipped over this tooth, and put onto the tooth after. So just insane pressure on this one incisor. However, I also know some treatments are different because we all have different teeth, so I called the office and asked if this was intentional. Mind you, this was the first for me at this office so I just didnt know. The kind front desk lady (her name starts with a G! Shes great) said she will get the dental assistant for advice. The same lady that did my teeth was now on the phone with me. I explained to her the situation AND THIS LADY TELLS ME THAT I CAN JUST LEAVE IT. She then says that I CAN FIX IT WITH TWEEZERS? Why should I, after leaving the office for a service that my own money and my insurance goes towards, be fixing my own teeth with tweezers when I WAS JUST THERE? I am so sorry, but it is insanity. As I had just gotten home, I thought, okay, lets give the tweezers a try! And honestly she was right; it is easy to fix with tweezers. But oh my goodness the fact I had to do that in the first place felt so wrong, and I was able to quickly realize that the power chain she cut and installed for me wasnt even long enough to go on all my brackets on my teeth. So, did she just cut corners and skip my teeth because she didnt want to grab another power chain? What is going on? I called back and the nice front desk lady fit me in last minute to get this resolved, and complied when I asked her to please set me up with a different dental assistant. I was set up with Carmelita (I really hope I spelled her name right) and explained the situation to her. She was quite confused but after thoroughly explaining, she was in disbelief and had asked me who advised me to use tweezers. I pointed out the lady (who was now working on another child's teeth) and she just told me that it is good I trusted my instincts and came back, because my tooth that was skipped over couldve gotten some damage done to it if I had left it the way it did. Again, that tooth had immediate INSANE pressure Ive never felt before, so I believe her. For Dr. W to excitedly announce that I could get my braces off soon in front of me and the first dental assistant, only to have her completely put my teeth in jeopardy the way she did has me feeling a certain way. I consider myself an understanding and cool and collected person. When I came back in to get my teeth fixed with Carmelita, I just wanted to duck my head and go in and out. But now that I am home, I really just feel frustrated and angry with how my teeth were cared for at the initial appointment all the way down to the advice she gave me over the phone with the tweezers. I wish I had taken a photo of my teeth before I tried to fix it myself with the tweezers so that I may add it here, but I didnt. I did, however, find a picture of all current staff in a group photo and found her in the photo. I do not want to post it pointing her out, because at the end of the day, even I can understand that it might've been an off day for her. But still I just want nice teeth man read more
