Another stellar performance by Rodger! I got my year supply of chorizos (via my uncle D.) from Rodger over the weekend.

Winnemucca is so lucky to have such dedicated individuals, they started out small a couple years…read moreago, and are steadily and slowly growing, to the point of actually having a store front now! They had a little market at the farm location for a while, but I can't say though I live by the house, I am happy for the store front. With it being at the house before, you didn't want to bother them potentially. RLM has done dinners in the past, they normally have treats for sale at the farmers markets, they work with the entire local food movement, bringing sand hill diary milk and cheeses to our area, working with Lattin farms and getting more produce, they raise their own meat and have their own CSA, and packages and more. I have tried the Sand HIll milk, so much creamier than store bought milk, it is pasteurized, but not homogenized. It has a different taste too, which honestly, was hard to adapt to, being raised on model dairy milk. I love history and the past, so I like to imagine I got it from the front door at 5 in the morning from the milk man in glass jars. They have quite a selection of produce considering how small they are, black radishes, and other crazy vegetables I've never heard or seen. They have great hours too, Monday thru Saturday 8:30 to 6. Also they have starters, and they brought in dwarf citrus trees, the prices are great at $39.95. Really a huge benefit for those that want to learn more about where their food comes from, and support it when possible. Thank you! Edited to add: They are also very tech friendly, you can order online and they will have it ready for pick up at the store. They have specials and a basket bundle as well. They take cards as well. They make it very hard not to support them.

I'm looking forward to a CSA box this summer and making many more trips to that cute little store downtown. Thanks so much to the owners for what they do!

We regularly drive between the Bay Area and Utah and Winnemucca is halfway between them…read more Chihuahua's has become a little home away from home for us. We can always count on its friendly service, reliable Mexican-American food and warm atmosphere. Today I had to make the drive solo for a family emergency and it was a very comforting place to be eating by myself in a somewhat sombre moment. As far as food goes, I often order the chicken flautas or the ground beef chimichanga, which is a filling portion size without making you feel like overeating. Today I tried the shredded beef enchiladas, which were recommended by the server. Both the red and green enchilada sauce were great and the beef was very flavorful. Thank you, Chihuahua's, for always making out of towners feel welcome!

The waitress didn't bring chips and salsa until we asked for it. Ehhh. The chips were stale. Must be bulk Costco chips. Nope! My daughter ordered a Michelada. She asked if they had Chamoy and Tajin? They did. The waitress must of misunderstood her as she wanted the rim with Chamoy and Tajin. She had it put in the actual drink. My grandson ordered chicken nuggets and fries off the child's menu. He must not of liked it as he didn't eat very much. He is super picky though. I had the same thing as last time. Surf and Turf. I enjoyed my meal. My daughter's mom got enchiladas again and she liked it too. They both did NOT like the rice which was unfortunate as they ordered double rice with their meal. I will still stop here on any future trips to Idaho. 3*

Come hungry they serve multiple, delicious courses that are pre set and then you choose whatever entree you would like to have. The service was good and all the employees were friendly. Dinner is served family style with your party along with other parties who are seated at your table. At first I was skeptical of this, but we actually had some really good conversations with two other couples at our table. You receive complimentary starters that will be passed from one end of the table to the other. The complimentary dishes were all really good and filling. We all ordered their dinner special which was a New York strip with mushrooms and garlic. We requested extra garlic, but the garlic was pretty much raw (should have been sautéed). The New York had way too much fat which was disappointing because it was only a 10 oz. I didn't try their bread pudding because I was so stuffed with all the sides I ate, but those at our table mentioned it was delicious. The complimentary glass of wine was a nice touch to start the evening. I ordered myself a Picon drink (I believe this is their signature drink) and it was really refreshing. Overall, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try. I will definitely be a returning customer whenever I am either visiting or passing through Winnemuccca.
