Rented one of the cabins on the fishing pond. Though basic & rustic it was very clean and the porch was much larger than I expected. I like that the picnic table was on the porch as well. 7/26-7/30/2020 My husband & I stayed in site 151; it was flat, mostly shade, very roomy & across from the dog park (perfect when you have 2 pups). We loved the location, right in the middle of everything. The pool was refreshing, busier on Sunday but empty by Wednesday, make sure to bring pool floats & a chair if you are plan to stay a while (no chairs due to Covid). The Community Center with picnic & large fire pit areas looked wonderful but closed due to Covid. I was amused to see the old school playground, haven't seen or been on a seesaw in years! The Wading Pine River was nice & cool, my pup had a blast splashing around on the mini beach landing by the Treasure Island Bridge. We forgot our tubes & the store was sold out so make sure you bring them. We wondered briefly on Treasure Island, make sure to spray yourself with Repel 40 Deet beforehand. My husband had fun fishing at the catch & release pond. The gazebo on the bridge was a nice & shaded place to enjoy the fishing pond & to people watch fellow campers. It was too hot to take advantage of the basketball court, volleyball court or horseshoe pits, maybe on our next visit. We didn't use the bathrooms (we have a TT) but they looked clean & stocked. Everyone in the office/store was friendly & welcoming. The store was well stocked even at the end of a very busy Christmas in July weekend. I would highly recommend Wading Pines for all campers. Under new corporate management. Held our credit card info and charged us two charges a month and a half after our stay. We paid in full prior to our stay. Called to inquire and asked for manager, woman was very short with me stating that charges are posted in "batches" that usually take a few days. Stated we stayed over a month and a half prior. Woman replied "well June and July didn't get processed". Two months you guys didn't get paid and no one noticed? Then you charge people randomly with no notice? Shady AF. Why do you even have our credit info over a month later to charge? Pay cash or don't stay here with their terrible corporate business practices. Next time someone asks to speak to someone in charge, just hand the phone over. You were about as tactful as a sledgehammer. read more

Very friendly staff! Pet friendly! Great amenities! We spent the weekend camping with our dog and we enjoyed ourselves. We forgot to pack a few items, but luckily the store had the things we needed. This is a great campground for families, a lot of events and activities to do. The lots were fairly close together and we went on a busy weekend so we did not have that much privacy, but nonetheless still enjoyed ourselves very much. read more

We chose a camp site on the water. It was very nice and peaceful until the people started filling in. Sites were kind of expensive and very close together. People were supposed to keep the noise down after 10pm. But that was not the case our neighbors were 15 drunk guys. What do you get for your $85 a night campsite NO wifi, NO sewer and if you have them pump you out it $25 plus tax and if you use the dump station they won't let you rinse the tanks. DO NOT recommend this place to those looking to have a good time with a large group. What others have said about new management treating their customers poorly is 100% accurate. First and foremost you will be harassed by the staff if you plan on staying up past 9pm. So be warned with that. Also if you book a trip down the river, don't expect to leave on time because they left us hanging for 45 minutes with no answer of what was going on. Half our group couldn't even go because they needed to be somewhere at a certain time. These issue weren't just with our group either, there were several other groups approaching us with the same problems. It's a shame because the campground itself is awesome. A 5 year family tradition there has come to an end and we will be seeking a more welcoming place. read more

My friends and I have been camping here for the last 2 summers. We enjoy getting a large group together and buying a few sites next to each other for all of us to enjoy. They have a nice convenient store however, some of the staff can be a bit rude and impatient. The bathrooms aren't the cleanest, but that's not a priority for a campground. The live bands they host are always a great time! Most of the seasonal campers are like a family, and are very warm and welcoming. The spots by the river are nice but some spots throughout the whole campground are very tight. A little too close together which I realize is not something quite solvable. Last year was much better than this year, and I believe it is because they have a new owner. They know demand quiet time at 10pm! On a weekend! To me, that is a bit absurd. The campgrounds are far too close and that is the reason why anyone would be disturbed. Some of us would like to relax outside with our friends and family and listen to music and laugh, especially after a great night of events in the recreation area! I would like to see the staff be friendlier and overall, more understanding of families and friends on vacation who are simply just looking to have fun! read more

We have been coming here for quite a few years with a large group. Unfortunately, this year was much different. Part of our group was watching the younger kids while some of us went kayaking but they were so unorganized. We waited just about an hour before they got us loaded and to the river. By the time we got back it was too late for our other group to go. Every night between 9:30 and 11:00 security was there telling us to turn the music down and one night to turn it completely off (I felt I was being told to go to bed and I'm 57 years old), while others were still playing there music. Bathrooms were disgusting. We will not be returning next year. read more

We love this campground and have camped here several times now. It is right along the beautiful Wading River, which is clean an a nice amenity. We come here to kayak and you can rent kayaks or just pay for a shuttle service (if you have your own) through the campground... the prices are comparable to other outfitters nearby. The campground has a heavily populated section of seasonal campers, all with tricked out sites and golf carts to match. But there are still wilderness sites along the river that have a nice amount of privacy-- mid-week you are likely to have the area to yourself. The campground is very pet-friendly-- a huge plus for us. However, pets are not allowed in the cabin rentals. They have a nice pool, activities for the kids on the weekends, and a decent little store with all the basics. Mt biggest complaint- but not much of one- is the bathhouses, which could use a little more thorough cleaning. Best of all, for folks from Philly, this place is just over an hour from the bridge. Oh... yes, it is the pine barrens, so yes there are bugs. Bring some spray and long sleeve pants and you'll be fine. read more

Came here with a group this past weekend for a birthday celebration. The campground was nice enough, the fishing pond was loaded with trash. Staff was kind, however, they had us take down a birthday sign with a profanity on it, that was set deep back on our campsite, yet they allow confederate flags to fly high and proud in the middle of the campground. When we addressed that issue nothing was done. Would not return for that reason alone. read more

I grew up camping here and it is still my happy place 10+ years later. It's so relaxing and peaceful! There are plenty of activities to do on the river like tubing and kayaking! The campground is prime real estate and you can get a campsite right on the wading river. This year was my first renting a cabin and this is what I'll be doing going forward. It saves set up and clean up time and is so much more relaxing! The cabins are nestled in the tall pine trees and surround a beautiful fishing pond so you get that calming sound of the water. The staff have definitely become friendlier with new ownership this year! I look forward to my next trip the moment I leave wading pines! read more

We recommend for tent camping. PROS: They almost always have last Minute 1 night tent spaces available. Clean bathrooms. Big clean pool. Playground. Train ride. Water & electric. Well stocked general store. Cons: spaces are very close together with little separation. Can be loud at night. TIPS: check your route before you go so you don't drive on dirt roads through WSF (unless you want to). bring tubes for tubing. Bring 24" fire grill grate. We went with a total of 26 kids and adults (two sites and 4 cabins) which we do every year and we like to have a good time. Unfortunately we will not be returning. We will spend our money elsewhere. The majority of the spots are really tight. Your picnic table is too close to the neighbor sewer. They didn't mow the sites for memorial day weekend. The bath house facilities were disgusting. If it rains many of the campsites flood very easily. When we were leaving and trying to dump the sewer was backing up into the site and delayed our departure at least an hour. Way overpriced for the poor quality at $65 a night plus $10 per kid per night. Will not be going back. read more

They said to arrive early due to the holiday weekend; upon arrival, had to wait two hours AFTER the trip was paid for, credit card info was taken etc; only for the result to be, "We can't take you out today." This was our first and probably last time staying here. The site we had was nice, but there is absolutely no privacy between the sites. We would sit in front of our camper and the camper behind us would be sitting in front of their camper, and we'd be maybe 15 to 20 feet from them, looking at them and hearing every conversation. The campground has way too many sites that are on top of each other, and most of the rules are not enforced, for example, we were told quiet time was at 10 pm, however, people would be yelling, talking loud, no consideration for anyone else. The bathrooms near the pool area were disgusting, toilets were not flushed, floors were all wet and muddy. Beer, wine, and hard liquor in glass bottles were allowed near the pool area, and even in the pool. Intoxicated campers were diving (against the rules) and playing in the pool with no regard for the other campers, especially the small children. There were so many people in the pool if a small child or anyone had drowned, no one would've been able to notice it. Speed limits were not enforced, dogs being allowed to be tied to trees and left outside by the pool gate, where everyone had to walk right past the dogs. I'm sure some people don't mind a crowded campground, but for me and my family we went there to relax, not deal with these problems. read more

The place is beautiful however very poor maintain by management . The bathrooms were filthy and I was very surprised that on June 27 which was a Saturday The park was packed was not even one single person out there what a mask. There was no social distance we were afraid so we left the park and came back Sunday night because I felt it was not safe. I don't think the park should be close however they should have a limitation of how many people they can served properly and maintain enough space for social distance. The staff in the office wears mask however they do not practice social distances in the park I was very disappointed. I called the manager and she did not return my phone calls three times. it's not worthy being there if they don't enforce the rules of social distance very disgusting bathroom again never again will I go there. Stayed here this past week and will never visit again. Nature was beautiful and we were comfortable in our camper however, the store closes at 4 and no one can be reached. There's no emergency number to call when they forget to pick your 8 person kayaking trip up or when there's people screaming at each other at 2am. We were told by the kayak driver to be at the pick up site by 3-3:30 and definitely off the river by 4. When 4 came around I began to call the office and left several messages that were never returned. The manager was frantic when my husband walked miles back to the campground banging on her door telling her we were stranded. She apologized and said we'd be reimbursed and have a free stay. The next day we asked about our reimbursement and the front desks people were extremely rude telling us we were late and our reimbursement was already given. I didn't say anything else about the free stay and walked out. We were not late and even if we were that does not excuse the fact that 8 people (4 of which were children) were left in the woods for the night. I'm dumbfounded at how nonchalant and idiotic these people were. I was not going to leave a nasty comment but after not being reimbursed I felt I needed to warn people about their management issues. The kayaking ride was phenomenal but the stress of waiting 3 hours for a ride back, not so much. I recommend going with Mick's Canoe and Kayak rentals down the road. read more

Nice place but tent and RV sites are REALLY packed together close. We stayed in cabin 21. There are beautiful trees right behind our cabin as well as a creek to tube down. We met the seasonals, they were drunk but very friendly and nice. They all, for sure, appear to be having a blast. We did not fear for our safety at any point. A lot of people drinking and riding on golf carts. Pretty funny and interesting. The store there sold me some stale marshmallows and refunded my money with no receipt. Only 1 1/2 hours from Philly. I've been going here for 3 years now on an annual camping trip. A bunch of college friends meet up once a year and have a weekend long reunion. We go tubing down the river from sun up to sun down. We've even been known to do a midnight river run (not recommended for beginners or the faint of heart). Every one is really nice. There's a Wawa about 10 minutes from the campground so if you end up needing anything, civilization is only few minutes away. The camp sites are on top of each other, so we usually get in trouble for making too much noise at night. My only complaint is the bathrooms. I understand that we're camping but it wouldn't hurt to take a hose to the bathroom stalls every now ant then to set the spiders and other bugs out of there. read more
