Bath houses are dirty, and some had broken mirrors. Pool was surprisingly nice, though. We stayed on a weekend and the place was quiet, no activities or anything going on. We were surprised by the number of empty sites. WiFi is horrible. They give you 1 WiFi code good for 1 device and if you need another it's $1 a day. Beach badges are also $1 a day. Really? For about the same price you can stay at The Sea Pirate down the road which is 100x nicer.

We actually arrived on saturday while the chili cookoff was going on, and i danced to the cotton eyed joe, cha cha slide, and cuban shuffle at my campsite.We also checked out the festival, and looked at local beers and chili but didn't try any. Once monday came around, everything was quiet. We had the pool to ourselves, and enjoyed it. However, maybe we had to ask or something, but am disappointed that the slide wasn't running on Monday June 10th while using the pool. It should be posted in the flyer which is given upon checkin, that during the offseason, things may not run as often. We also tried going to the camp store for firewood on Monday June 10th, but upon entering it was closed. I don't even think the galley was open either. What if someone was looking for daily specials? anyways. Pool is very warm and comfortable. RV sites are great and easy pull through. it was so easy getting in and out of the campsite. For kids, it has playgrounds, a jumping pillow, and in the pool area, a little kiddies camp where they can play. Other than rv sites, they have cabins, and tent sites. Overall enjoyed this place.

Lots of activities which can be easily found on the app. Kids activities include everything from a big bounce pillow. Sudzy sundaes on the field, inflatable water blowups. And a bucking bronco from time to time. There are two playgrounds, both of them could use a little bit of updating. There is a dog defecation park zone with a fire hydrant & mailbox too. They have a small arcade. Small gift shop. Pool goes up to 9' with a stiff diving board. (No back flips, bummer). Fishing pond. You can crab/kayak/canoe from rear property access to bay. Accommodations include tent sites, various level RV connections, and cabins. I like the cabin with 2 rooms, bathroom and kitchen the best. Not all kids are free anymore, which could be misleading from the road sit. Kids are free for the seasonal site holder registrants only, and infants. I still come back again and again. You'd have a good time too if you came.

As tent campers, we had a tent site in the field, which also gave us a little more room to enjoy nature. The restrooms at the field are clean, but the stalls are extremely small that you must do your business with the stall door ajar or you'd touch your face and knees on the door (and I'm a petite person). The office and bathhouse restrooms are far roomier and just as clean. Neighbors are very hit or miss. The staff here are nothing short of amazing. Everyone is friendly and took care of us when we ran into an issue during our first visit. There are enough activities throughout each weekend to keep the kids entertained. Most of all, the beach and lake alone is enough to convince us to visit every summer.

Our new favorite campsite!…read more My husband and I just came back from our first "real" camping trip. When hotels in Seaside Heights were too expensive, we decided to take our camper out to Cedar Creek. Although it's usually a four night minimum, Cedar Creek kindly accommodated us for two nights. Upon arriving, I realized we were way out of our comfort zone. A lot of these people are "seasonal" campers and camp here for months at a time. I was blown away with some of the setups these people had - one even had a bar! Our neighbors welcomed us when we pulled up to our spot and helped us unload. It was a very warm welcome. We did a quick drive around the campsite and saw a pool, a fire pit for s'mores, playgrounds, kayaks and canoes. It totally took me back to "The Parent Trap". I appreciated the 24-hour security. Everyone took their job seriously and made us feel safe. It truly was a fun experience and I'm looking forward to camping her for many years to come!

But what I'm more impressed with is that their service and friendliness was consistent to my last experience. Moreover, it's an oasis away from the city as the scenery is certainly peaceful, tranquil and fun. If you're plan on going, I suggest to pick the 11am slot! This will give you ample time to hang out at the creek before the return time which is at 5:30pm. The company will drive you to the site and will leave you upstream so when you're rowing down, you won't be not fighting against the current. You have the option to go on the 4 hour, 3 hour or 1 hour slot. Best of all, the creek is not that deep, though I was told that there are certain spots that can be 8-10 feet deep but most of the time, it seems like it's only 3-4 feet deep. This was great because it gave me the option to jump in the water and play with my friends since I didn't' know how to swim! If you're renting a canoe, it will cost around $60 which you can split with the other person. But if you like to kayak then the cost is about $45 per person. All in in, I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for something fun to do and still close enough to the city to head back home. The people here are super duper friendly and the creek is beyond clean, the air is fresh and the experience is absolutely priceless!!!! _________________________ They are also a campsite so if you're planning to stay over night, this is also another great way to add more fun to the experience!

This place is less than 1/2 hr to beach & more than half sites are open on a Friday night. It should be a gold mine.

The lake is great for canoeing, and the Batona Trail is just up the road for hiking. For a small fee, they'll supply your campsite with firewood. Several Pinelands destinations are within convenient driving distance. The campground is well-maintained. Keep an eye out for the osprey, and listen for the whip-poor-will. Pilgrim Lake has been around for decades, so evidently Scott and Helen Hazard are doing something right. A superb camping spot, all considered.

There is a nature center with a museum that's free to walk-through to get a break from the sun if you need as well as a café and some restrooms that are right at the front gate as well as Porta potties that are along the beach route. They are not common though so if you drive by one when you first get there, I would use it, I did see people bring surfboards and go out in the other sections where people were fishing and you have to have a permit to drive onto the beach, which is done by lottery I heard loads of people coming to Swim but there's more than enough space on the beach that everyone spreads out and you get more than enough room in privacy that you don't even feel all the people that are there. Great spot look forward to coming back.

We take our dog…read morewith us so are restricted to the dog allowed areas where others drive on the sand to fish and there aren't any life guards so you can't swim, but even with all of those restrictions this is still my favorite beach. It is not crowded at all and easy to forget that you are not the only person on the beach. Most people in this section of the beach have dogs with them but everyone follows the leash rules and I've never seen anyone not pick-up after their dog. One or two of the parking lots have port-a-potty's and the main two beaches (where you can swim but dogs aren't allowed) have pavilions with restrooms, a cafe, and a beach store.
