When your name comes up on a Name Of The Day promotion at a local spot... you go! This was especially convenient today as it was a "visit my mom" day and her nursing home is less than 5 minutes from here. So when my friend sent me the post, it made me extra excited for today! After I finished my visit with mom, I headed right over to The Waffle Cone just as they were opening up for the day. This was my first visit to them, and I am sure it won't be my last, as they gained a new fan and follower today! I chose their limited time flavor, Banana Pudding, and was in HEAVEN! I really love all things banana flavored so this was an immediate YES! I didn't catch the gentleman's name that served me, my memory is horrible, but he was very helpful and kind and offered me samples if I wanted one. Thank you to The Waffle Cone for this great promotion! read more

It was my birthday recently and when asked where I wanted to go for dessert, I really had only one answer, and that was Waffle Cone. I stayed simple this time. A scoop of the butterscotch with marshmallow and whipped cream. Always great service, always a great time...just the best old school ice cream parlor around. As always, the place was clean, the staff eager to help and the best ice cream around. If you haven't tried Waffle Cone, I highly suggest you do. Waffle Cone has a great selection of ice creams, even soft serve options (which is my favorite), and of course fresh warm cones to fill. The staff was friendly and efficient with the steady flow of customers coming through. It a nice spot to stop and grab a treat as you peruse Park Street area. read more

When we entered we were greeted warmly and they were accommodating to us taste testing and patient with us so thank you to the 2 ladies helping us! We decided to try the cookie sandwich with vanilla and omg YUM! I love the creamy vanilla, and its not too sweet. The cookie is that crisp outside and soft inside, its not a thick cookie but thats what makes it perfect for a cookie sandwich. We sat inside to eat it and it was comfortable and clean. Cute ice cream shop in the 5 points area, cute decor. Had a large variety of ice cream- basic and specialty flavors. Also had a large number of dairy and sugar free options. My kids are pretty basic and just order vanilla ice cream with toppings. I was surprised they didn't have sprinkles but my kids were satisfied with m&ms and Reese pieces as alternatives. I tasted the Graham Slam, and it was phenomenal. Great flavor, not overpowering. The attendant actually said it was the #1 seller. I personally didn't get any ice cream because I had an event to go to later and I was already full. The shop is so quant and the employee who helped my coworkers with their orders was wonderful. The flavors they had seemed pretty tame with flavors like Red Velvet, Mint Chip, Birthday Party, and The Elvis. I like a little more adventurous flavors. My coworkers grabbed some and the consensus was split. Half really liked what they got and the other half didn't. The half who didn't said the first few bites are good but then after eating it for awhile they grew bored of it. Not sure what to make of that but to each his/her own. read more

I love this ice cream shop!! For one it's adorable and the decor is super cute. Right in the heart of five points, prepare ahead to park but most of the time I find a spot in the lot on the side of their building. Their ice cream flavors feature usual staples like vanilla, chocolate, mint chip - but also a few fun unique flavors. My personal favorite is the Elvis , peanut butter and banana - amazingggg! Obviously with their name they have cones on deck including their delicious classic waffle cone. But I personally do not recommend the waffle cone bowl, last time I had it appeared under baked yet it was hard to chew and stale, not good unfortunately. Otherwise, they have friendly service and they are happy to assist you with samples, try all the flavors you'd like. Another fun thing about this place is if you follow them on social media they do a "name of the day" and if it is your name, you get free ice cream! Today was my Birthday and I was craving Waffle Cone Ice Cream all day!!!! Today I got the Dulce De Leche on a waffle cone which is one of my favorites! My wife ordered the pistachio on a waffle cone and she said she loved it! The great thing was "Susanne" was the name of the day so got hers free. Out of all the ice cream shops in Jacksonville we feel Waffle Cone is the best!!! Service is always friendly!!! Spectacular in every way. This little ice cream shop is such a nice spot. The ice cream is always so delicious and they have unique flavors that really amplify it. I've had shakes, samplers (highly recommend this), regular cups, cones, the works. I've never been disappointed. If I had to suggest one I'd recommend the Graham Slam. Such a great mix of salty n sweet. The staff is incredible, kind, helpful, and generous. The cost is nothing over the top but it's also not cheap. If you are going to get something special (shake, Sunday, etc.) expect it to be $7-10. My kids are always down for a Cookie Monster cone. If you're in the area check out waffle cone! read more

Out of all of the ice cream places I've been, I think Waffle Cone is my all-time, number one favorite. Seriously. Not only do they have dairy free options, but they are EXCELLENT dairy free options. The traditional ice cream is phenomenal - my husband can attest to that. But man, the dairy free - it's so fresh and the texture is *spot on*. I think almost everyone who has had their name selected for 'name of the day' has mentioned this in their review. I could NOT believe that they actually had my name and I got a HUGE and AMAZING free ice cream cone. How cool is that?? And who in the world would ever use SASHA? (Not that I'm complaining!) It's a super cute spot with fun decor and really great staff. Everyone is super nice and friendly - and very patient while you try the million flavors and decide what your treat is going to be. Waffle Cone never disappoints and is our favorite ice cream shop in Jacksonville. I love their chocolate dipped sugar cones and it paired perfectly with the fantastic Graham Slam flavor. Graham crackers ice cream base with dark chocolate covered waffle cone pieces and honey graham cracker pieces, so good! Sampled this flavor first and didn't need to try anything else! I needed a something sweet today and decided it would be some ice cream. I said - "let me try Waffle Cone since I always see them when I eat at Hawkers." I want to first say the service was wonderful. Aiden was so nice and I know he made my milkshake with patience and skill. He was quick making several orders but he also made sure they were correct. I can respect that and I personally think he deserves a raise. I liked that they had dairy free options and the environment is very retro. A large family with small kids sat on my left but a group of laughing teenagers sat on my right - both were able to enjoy the space and ice cream. My shake was so good - the pricing was fair and I really feel I got great quality ice cream. I must come back and bring my mother to try their butter pecan. read more

We walked in after lunch nearby and was greeted by a young man that ended up being very nice and helpful. I was asking more details about the cookies used in the ice cream sandwich since I'm a little particular with the structure of these. They are chocolate chip cookies used. He mentioned they aren't very soft to help hold the ice cream together but he was willing to heat them up if I wanted them softer. He just recommended using a cup to help hold it all together. I ended up opting for no heating. I wanted it with blueberry cheesecake ice cream. Let me tell you....this thing is quite big and was very delicious. I did think later that I might have preferred warming the cookies up since I ended up using a cup anyways as the sandwich got smaller and meltier. I have this place in mind called Sunshine Sammie's in NC that had the perfect structure while still keeping the cookie fairly soft. It can be done, but I obviously don't know how. This still was very good and appreciate the help he gave me with everything. Definitely would recommend again. read more

What an amazing place. I tried a six scoop flight to share with my spouse. He is allergic to nuts and chocolate but they have plenty of choices. I got To die for chocolate and the caramel with peanut butter cups. Forgot name sorry. Both were delish. We also got vanilla bean, strawberry cheesecake, strawberry and dulce du leche. I wish I had pictures of the ice cream - this is a wonderful ice cream parlor! It's conveniently located so you can stop by after a meal, a visit at the Cummer Museum, or just walking around the area/shopping. They have lots of dairy free options as well, more than I usually see, and they're very well labeled. I got a scoop of the red velvet ice cream (not dairy free) and WOW! It was so rich and sweet with a great mix of ice cream, cake pieces, and frosting layered throughout. My friend got a scoop of cookies and cream with no complaints. When it's treat o' clock, I head to Waffle Cone in Riverside! I love that this ice cream shop has so many amazing dairy free flavors! The espresso and toasted coconut are my favorite. Follow along on their social media to see if they pick your name of the day! When it was Rachel day, I was so grateful to my friends that tagged me in the post! The ice cream flight is an absolutely phenomenal concept. $10 for six flavors is such a great idea. Caramel, raspberry, coffee, strawberry cheesecake... keep the flavor combinations coming. Too sweet? Swap in some sorbet to get a bit of tart in your dessert life. My wife daughter and I split a flight and it was enough to satisfy all of our sweet teeth (that phrase seems odd but right?) . And you can add on a cup Of coffee just to fend off the dreaded brain freeze. read more

Coming back from a day trip to St Augustine we were craving ice cream and decided to stop by Waffle Cone on our way home. We couldn't make up our minds so went for the flight of 6 half scoops. Got the cookie dough, Toasted coconut, raspberry, velvet cake, dulce de leche and pistachio. They were all creamy and full of flavor. Next time we are trying 6 different ones for sure! What a cute and charming place right on post street. I love how it gives the feel of a clique ice cream parlor. Located on post street in Riverside area, Waffle Cone is set near The Cummer museum and five points area. Inside was simple yet so cute with pink walls and white tulips on the walls. I love how they had even thought about pups and offered pup cups as a treat. So basically what I had was the ice cream flight which consists of 6 scoops of ice cream of your choice. I chose Dulce de leche, butter pecan, toasted coconut, strawberry cheesecake, cookie dough and raspberry. It was delicious,every single flavor. Personally I am team waffle cone all day! Before any other ice-cream in Jax. The owners are so giving and kind! And are only in their mid 20s! The service is great! The flavors are to die for! Raspberry haze is my usual favorite but I also love gram slam and apple strudel and smores (only in sept) ! They did half price pints in the last 2 hurricanes which is just great for all parties! Ice cream was awesome! It's a cute little shop with indoor seating and a whole host of great flavors. I highly recommend the mango sorbet if you like nondairy ice cream or just want something refreshing. I loved all the nondairy options, and their dairy options are great too. I wouldn't normally leave a review for a business after visiting on its grand opening day, but Waffle Cone isn't a normal scoop shop. Situated on Post St. right across from Riverside Park, Waffle Cone is a very welcome addition to the main business district in Riverside. It's a welcoming, large ice cream shop with a wide selection of classic hard ice cream (with many non-dairy options) as well as soft serve. My wife, toddler son, and I stopped at a nearby restaurant for a quick bite and kept our meal light since we wanted to give Waffle Cone a try. Lucky for us, we went light on the food and heavy on the ice cream, because Waffle Cone's ice cream is top shelf. We saw them doling out large scoops and were each going to order our own single scoops ($4.25) until we saw their Ice Cream Flight- six half scoops for $8.50. We were surprised to see what they think is a "half scoop," since each scoop was larger than what you'd receive as a full scoop at a typical chain shop. I can't imagine they won't raise the price or cut the serving size on the Flight in the future, because at its current price, it's an unbelievable deal. We tried vanilla, butter pecan, Jag Claw (chocolate with fudge and chocolate covered cashews), Eyes Wide Open (espresso), strawberry, and peanut butter fudge. All of the flavors were creamy and were pleasantly sweet with plenty of mix-ins (if applicable). The Eyes Wide Open has a real punch of espresso, the Jag Claw was deliciously rich, and the butter pecan was perfectly balanced (not cloyingly sweet like some low-end butter pecan). I loved all of the flavors, as did my wife (except she felt the Eyes Wide Open was too strong, which is why I liked it). As for my 18-month old son, he cried when the ice cream was finished. Not shocking for a toddler, but it just shows that he loved the ice cream a lot (the peanut butter fudge seemed to be his favorite). I was amazed that the shop was running as smoothly as it was on its first day. There was a line when we arrived about 5:30 p.m., but it moved quickly. The staff was friendly and kept things moving. I think there's a solid chance that there will be lines out of the door on weekend nights because this ice cream is so good. Prices are on the higher side, but portions are generous, the ice cream is great, and I'm sure rent is expensive for them, so overall, I think the pricing is fair. Waffle Cone is a perfect way to cap off a visit to Riverside (or provide a reason to visit, for that matter). Give them a shot! read more

I must give kudos to the dynamic duo of Waffle cone, husband and wife. I came in just before closing and was treated to 6 different flavors of ice cream. Waffle cone has an array of ice cream to sooth your palate. Unfortunately, I did not see any sugar-free options or sherbert, nor did I ask, shame in me. To Waffle cone credit, they were scooping ice cream and attending to the customers. I gave a 4 star rating only because my ice cream melted before I got home, not any fault of the establishment. Waffle cone is a darn good for an ice cream parlor in the heart of five points, Riverside. It is just too far for us, but nonetheless, the owners were very engaging to all who entered. Today was my first visit to this wonderful ice cream shop. My husband and I shared the flight of ice cream, which is a half scoop of six different ice cream flavors. We opted for mint chocolate chip, cappuccino chip, cookies and cream, butterscotch, chocolate cheesecake, and caramel. They have about 25 different flavors in all. The server was very friendly and very helpful. All six flavors tasted great. The shop itself is very cute, decorated in pink and white colors. I really wanted ice cream on Friday and I wanted somewhere close to home. We found waffle cone and we are so glad we did. The spot was really beautiful and the service was top notch. They had so many ice creams to choose from and we got to try a few before coming to our decision. I had the Apple strudel and it was out of this world. It was so rich and creamy and absolutely hit the fall spot my soul was craving! My husband had the cookie dough and also was very impressed. They also do pup cups so our sweet furry baby was able to enjoy with us! They have a lot of amazing fall flavors coming up that we I definitely will be back to try. While we were ordering, another customer came in, and we noticed the employee spoke to them with the same impatient attitude, so it didn't seem like it was just our group. The biggest issue came when the last person in our group ordered a sorbet. It was frozen so solid that it was impossible to scoop or eat. We let the employee know, and she said she would "soften it," which apparently meant microwaving it. She brought it back, but it was still hard as a rock and still wasn't edible. Unfortunately, the customer service overshadowed the visit. A friendly attitude and serving products that are ready to eat go a long way. We hope this location improves both its service and the quality of the experience for future customers.

Took 2 bites and threw the rest away. Cheese was overmelted into the bread. The bread was hard as a rock. WTH. I thought biscottis had a reputation to uphold. Update-Talked w the manager who said it was a one off. He was super nice so I believe him. Just disappointed to spend that kind of money for food that ended up in the trash and left still hungry for lunch.
