I don't live in the South and had NEVER eaten at a Waffle House and decided to give them a try. Pretty well organized chain diner. Saw the "House Rules" sign as I walked in. Noticed it said to seat yourself. Place was pretty empty and was about to sit in a booth when I saw the sign that said they are for two or more people only. Went to the bar/counter and grabbed a seat. Was impressed with the friendly staff and the banter between servers and cooks. They seemed to be having a good time. Counter view watching the cooks was also fun. Ordered the popular combo with eggs over easy, toast, grits. Bacon, and waffle. Everything was good and I see why the waffle carries the chain name. Nothing fancy here but prices are cheap and service was good. Won't be my last time coming!

I've never been to a "Waffle House" ever! Why did I wait so long? This place was incredible. I was heading back to New York when I needed to gas up. I drove past this diner and decided, why not, so I when after I filled up. There was plenty of parking at 5am so that was good. Outside the place doesn't look like much. It has the iconic Waffle House yellow sign and that about all I knew about this place. Inside, there were only two ladies working. One of them was teresa, the waitress. She was stern, but friendly and took my order. I thought because this was a chain the food would be generic. But I saw them pull out real bacon and crack egg which they scrambled with cheese. They served hot coffee and refills are free. But the food took first place. I couldn't believe how good this breakfast was. The bacon crunchy, the eggs cheesy, and the grits, were maybe only the way the south can do! I was definitely surprised about Waffle House. If you're driving for hours and need to fill up, Waffle House is definitely your next stop.

We were greeted right away and settled into a comfortable booth not far from the kitchen, the kind of booth that feels like it's been broken in by a lot of families and a lot of weekend lunches. A very Southern waitress came by not long after for drink orders and I got a cheerful "What can I get for you, honey?" because South Carolina never misses a chance to remind you where you are, and honestly it set the tone in a good way. Mrs. K. went straight for the fish sandwich that started this whole detour and I ordered a loaded burger. What arrived was a smoky, unusual burger with bacon, fried pickle slices, melted cheese and a general sense of indulgence that still worked even without the bun, and it was tasty in that satisfying, slightly messy way that makes you feel like you made the right call. Mrs. K. said her fish sandwich was good, simple and well prepared, exactly what she wanted after a long drive. Her sweet tea (again, welcome to South Carolina) was refilled, which is a sign that she's enjoying it. Rigsby's feels like a place that's trying hard to be family friendly and energetic, the kind of local chain that wants to be the dependable neighborhood option for burgers, wings, and a little bit of everything. I hadn't heard of them before this visit and I suspect they're up against some tight competition from both the regional players and the national chains that dominate this part of the world, but there's an earnestness to the place that makes you hope they find their footing. I wish them luck because the food was good, the service was warm, and sometimes that's exactly what you need on the road through the South. It was a treat to go to CB when I was a kid...something magical about the store at the front of the restaurant. Although I rarely buy anything it is always fun to browse. The staff is usually so friendly-true Southern hospitality. Not necessarily a healthy menu but you can enjoy true Southern comfort food. Emily was my server. She checked on me several times. She was very courteous and attentive but didn't hover excessively. I had the NY Strip Steak, a loaded baked potato, fried okra and a cornbread muffin and a biscuit. It was all good. The only think I would skip next time is the peach lemonade. (It tasted "fake.") I treated myself to a hot S'mores Coffee to finish off my meal. It was sooooo good-dessert and coffee rolled into one delicious yummy concoction. Always good for a Southern comfort food experience and Southern hospitality.

We popped in for the restroom and a little candy for the road, with Mrs. K. happily finding her lemon sticks and me unable to walk past chocolate bars that have nuts. By morning, we were long gone before they opened, which makes this feel like an odd review, but Cracker Barrel has always been supportive of the RV lifestyle and welcomes overnight parking with the polite request that if you're having a meal, you have it with them. We'd already had dinner at the Florence Alabama location the night before and it's too early this morning, so we'll owe Anderson one on the next pass through. BEWARE:: Apparently they don't read these reviews because after scrolling through I see a common…read morethread... lack of attention to people sitting in booths and bar waiting for service or just to be acknowledged! It's absolutely horrible..waitresses there are TEMU hooter's girls with ripped fishnet stockings short shorts and talking and flirting with table full of men. While we (husband and wife) sat waiting patiently for someone to take our order. Tables on either side had waitresses waiting on them and we watch 3-4 different waitresses pass by us and not once take our order. We started to just get up and leave because this was bull crap. So we noticed people at the bar were being waited on so we got up and went there, sat down and fortunately the bartender approached us and took our order. She saw we were at a table and asked what had happened... to which we replied we sat there and none of these waitresses bothered to take our order. She seemed annoyed by this happening and went to the back and said something to those girls but honestly it was probably a waste of time. They seemed unfazed and kept going to the tables full of men. Some were hugging the men there and actually sitting at their tables with these men and completely ignoring patrons there with a spouse. So I can tell you what they're actually gunning for.. it was the very last time we will step foot in this establishment. I guess it's not a good choice for couples to go eat a decent meal. The bartender was very polite and she waited on us professionally and she was very pleasant. Didn't want to leave a tip thinking they all share tips but we did. I'm just not one to not tip. But I will say the tip could have been a lot bigger. Just beware before going you may be writing a review just like this one and others here who had the exact same awful experience. I guess the men, bikers and guys who frequent the strip clubs keep this place going. Honestly they should just go ahead and throw a pole up in the dining area for them TEMU hooter waitresses to twirl on. That's what they're doing anyways. So good luck if you read this and decide to eat here. Maybe your experience will be better but just look through these reviews and make your decision. Adios Louie's!!!!!!!! Majority of music playing is country music, Nothing wrong with the restaurant, so I'm giving it 4 stars. Not my ideal ambiance. Hubby really Ike's it so he will undoubtedly be back. Me--probably not.
