This place is frozen in time... If you want to travel back to the 1970's just stop in to an old style family restaurant. Faith, Family, Food... How long has it been since you have heard something like that? Talk to the waitresses here... you will hear things like "I've been here for 19 years, and just love the place." These are the sort of people who you just know are the best grandparents on the planet. I've been a few times for Breakfast and have enjoyed every meal I have had... BTW their Sour Dough Toast is the best... I usually get the special, two eggs, bacon, toast, grits... I know it's hard to mess up breakfast. The coffee is good. The service is just like I got from my grandparents. These people are the salt of the earth. More than once I've given $100 for a tip. Yesterday morning the lady checking me out said "I think you made a mistake on your tip." I said "No Ma'am, I was shooting for 200% and that's pretty close"... She offered me a piece of cake to take home. :-) These people are simply your grandparents, your Sunday school teachers, Aunt "B" from Mayberry... You really have to go by and experience the best people the USA has to offer. We were out house hunting in the Anderson SC area and our realtor found this place on Yelp. We are so glad we stopped in here for lunch. I'm always on the hunt for Old Style Family restaurant's and this place did not disappoint. A lot of choices on the menu, decided to try their Club Sandwich. The bread was some of the best on a sandwich I have ever had, nice and soft and not too little or too much bread where it overpowers the rest of the sandwich. Every bit of the sandwich and fries was tasty (picture was from their website- forgot to take one). The service was friendly, didn't take long at all before we had our food and they were attentive but not annoying. The service is great. The food is good home cooking. The eggs are made to order. I get mine over easy and you don't know how many places mess that up. NOT here; cooked right every time! They give you lots of food for the price. Under $30 for us! Family owned. I gave 4 stars because the waitresses seem to be preoccupied. Overall this is a hometown place. This place is my favorite spot in Anderson to eat. It reminds me so much of my grandmothers restaurant back home in Georgia. I love this place. The food is always great and you see the same people working every time. It can be tricky getting a seat b/c everyone else loves it too. This is the only restaurant in town I will order grits. They are perfectly seasoned and loaded with butter just the way they should be. Did I mention coffee? Can't get enough. Overall average, prices are a premium for portions and quality. We were excited to visit this restaurant, there were both positives and negatives. On the positive side, the place was very clean, as it had been recently remodeled. The staff are extremely pleasant, nice and attentive. The coffee was also delicious! The food was average, not bad just nothing to write home about. The prices were rather high for the portion and quality. ( sausage gravy is not homemade, toast was not really toasted, rather cold and limp) I realize the price of everything has gone up and it must trickle down but a little more attention to the quality of the product is priceless. My husband and I always like to support local businesses but with better values out there it makes it difficult. It makes the everyday breakfast restaurant turn into a special occasion restaurant. A major drawback was the check. It was very confusing. It was a printed receipt from the register that had a "non-cash service fee" of 4.25% automatically added. I have never seen this before, and not even sure if it is legal? It made us think, does this restaurant not accept cash? After clarification from an employee, in fact they do. So, you bring your receipt/ check to the register, a bar code is scanned and then the service fee is removed if you state that you are paying with cash and then you are given the actual total to pay. A few things about that, it is rather bold to list and charge such a fee for one, it is also very presumptuous to assume how the patron will pay. Just my option here, but wouldn't it be better and less confusing to not provide a total on the check until at the register if the total is variable on how it's paid? Or perhaps add an additional line to the check with a "paying with cash" total? Would stop in again, but will not make a special trip or go out of the way. And due to high prices would not be able to make it part of a daily routine. read more

We went to Grace's this morning for breakfast and we were not impressed. The service was excellent and the ambiance was nice but the food was mediocre at best. My hubby had the pancakes and said they were good but not very warm. We both had sausage patties and they were awful! They had very little flavor, they were cold and they were cooked to the point of being dried out. We also thought the prices ($3 for a cup of coffee? Plus a service charge for credit?) were high for the food we received. Probably won't go back again. read more

Doesn't look like much on the outside but once you step inside, the ambiance will entice even the most modest of us. It has that deep south feel with a touch of French decor. This is the BEST breakfast place in anderson. I eat here weekly with my discipleship groups. The staff as a whole is very friendly. To the extent they got me and my wife a wedding gift. We ate there for lunch today. We had the famous chicken club, a philly cheese steak, chicken fingers, and a fish sandwich. All was good. The service and atmosphere was fantastic. I like the way they give you two cans of soft drink for your purchase since they don't have fountain. That is an acceptable balance. I would say the food was just a little bit more pricey than I would like, but not unreasonable. I split the cheese steak and chicken club with my son and both were tasty. We may stop by again for breakfast. Worth a try if you are in the neighborhood. Also, highway 76 is gorgeous in that area of Anderson. read more

Went here for breakfast with my wife. Small, cozy, family style place that's been around for a while. We ordered eggs, meat, toast, coffee, one with grits and one with hash browns. Of course they charged extra for the hash browns to replace the grits. Food was average, like you would cool at home. Not really with the $21.00 we paid, but we like to try new places every week. If you want a quiet little place to eat, try it. Will we go back, no, not impressed enough. We kind of felt uncomfortable there. There are so many good things to say about Grace's and not enough room in order to write them all down, so I'll try to be succinct. I have always been impressed with the incredible customer service received by each and every waitress that works there. The food is delicious, well prepared, and they are flexible enough to accommodate any customizations that you need such as egg whites only, wheat toast etc. They don't only serve breakfast, they also have very delicious sandwiches and with the wonderful food combined with the diner atmosphere and service, they're hard to beat. read more
